Congratulations on being so close and on getting so much of a hard and necessary preparation done. I think the way you structure the video by breaking it down into sections was totally logical and it’s always helpful to have people share the things that they find to be stressful and overwhelming because it educate others about what they might not think I’ve difficulties and also makes those of us with similarities feel like we have that in common.
Hi! Followed your channel years ago and dropped in a few months ago and saw your news. Congrats! I am also a blind mama and can definitely identify with some of these challenges. Hang in there with the transition. It takes a while but it gets so much easier! Matching clothes, I recommend dresses and if it's cold, solid, simple colored tights, navy, black, white, pink. Also, Seeing Ai is your friend for identifying and matching clothes! I also prioritised any clothes that had particular tactile markings to make it easier. I know what you mean about the online shopping though, ugh, and having to do so much as a team with your hubby. When organizing clothes in future, you can compare things against one another to assess the size. Sometimes that's more accurate than the label anyway with shrinkage and brand differences. When I do it on my own now I just take something I do know the size of, for example, a pair of 0 to 3 leggings and match them up to the pair of leggings I’m not sure about. If they are slightly longer, I assume they must be 4 to 6. If slightly shorter, newborn. Hope that helps!
You look stunning and it is such an interesting video to watch, I am so happy for you and I am sure you are going to be the best mom, as a teacher the only thing that kids ask is love, their only sadness is being ignored, I have met amazing moms with disabilities and you are already thriving ❤❤❤❤❤

The last thing you should ever feel is useless remember, you are growing an actual little human inside you! I am ashamed to admit that I did not get a real hold on that situation until baby girl was about a year old? Maybe 14 months? Lol! I now hang her outfits together on a single hanger using a little clothes pin on a regular baby hanger. Now her clothes are as familiar to me as my own. It just takes time. 🙏🏼 I think the hardest thing after baby came home was feeling so very tired. Make sure you take family help if you need it and get the rest you need. You’re in the homestretch! I remember bumping into things with my bump too. It’s made me do a lot more walking with my hand out in front of me. Once the baby comes, you will probably do a lot of putting your hand by the babies head to make sure they don’t bang into things that you may not have taken into account. Also, as baby gets older, when they get mad, sometimes they just whip their head places. lol In solidarity on the public bathrooms. My nausea didn’t really add the entire pregnancy. Like it would go away for a little while and then come roaring back. And I can’t work from home at my job. So I would go to work and the first time I went to get sick in the bathroom, I remembered that it has an automatic flush, and it flushed in my face. After that, I used to puke in bags at my desk. So glamorous. And it also meant all my coworkers knew I was pregnant from like eight weeks. Wishing you the best on the arrival of your little one. I am currently watching your video as my little guy, three months old, struggles to get to sleep. Also, blind Mom tip, zippers! Zippers zippers zippers. Those outfits with little buttons are really cute. And really annoying to put on a crying baby in the middle of the night. If you need anything, feel free to message me. When I had the baby, I had a C-section, so at first, my husband and my mom were doing a lot of the diaper changing, since I couldn’t really bend too much. And then I got so much anxiety about changing a diaper after that. Like maybe I couldn’t do it. Thaen add tht post baby blues that most people get at least a little bit of, and you being blind, and it can feel overwhelming. But you got this mama. And when things get rough, snuggle your little. It’ll make you feel better.

I'm glad the babyshower went well and that the pregnancy is going well too. Do you label your drawers with braille or anything tactile or do you just try to memorize where everything is? For matching you could use a color indicator or apps that can tellyou what color things are. SeeingAI, Be My Eyes, and I think Envision AI are some good examples. I've used the Be My AI feature in Be My Eyes and it does a really good job of describing things to you. You can even ask it follow up questions. This is probably more trouble than it's worth but you could ask your husband or someone else to help you organize the clothes by color in the drawers too. But like you said making sure your baby matches isn't really that important lol.
By the way, regarding reading labels on food packages, here in the UK I do my shopping online from supermarkets. If I want to read the nutritional information for a product, I just find that product on the app and I go and read the description. It’s really really easy, I just don’t know if that’s an option for you in the US.
GDM usually means there were issues with blood sugar/insuline output previously (meaning insulin resistance). Many times it’s the cause of fertility issues too due to the pancreas effecting the hormone system. I understand it’s not as diagnosed/look out for as in Hungary, but please make sure to test it after birth, as treating it before getting out of control (diabetes) makes a lot of difference! Pricking fingers sucks, I also have issues with blood sugar, so I was cooonstantly checking it during pregnancy.
Do you use a braille labeler for shelves? Have you tried an app, where you can request someone read a label to you? Maybe talk with other blind mothers to get their tips.
So what are you gonna name this baby? As a LCA patient myself in my last year of my 40s I’m glad that said baby wull not have eye issues. What I wqq diagnosed I was told not to hav kids biologically. And I feel you about to do lists as i’m in the process of starting a small business.

I have a feeling that something like that probably exists. I think the other steps of the process would still be difficult though. Imagine the talking monitor is also pretty pricey, so probably not worth the investment for something I would just use for only a few weeks
