Slowly learning to live with it. Still miss him very much. He survived an entire IED blowing up his 5ton wrecker in Iraq in 2005, came home and answered the call to be law enforcement. He was murdered about 12 miles from his home by a convicted felon that no one was trying to locate. This guy was shot and my son got the call of shots fired. He arrived on site and found a blood trail and another officer joined him and were talking to Dispatch and only about 5 feet away the guy was hiding in a little shed. As my son walked up following the blood trail, the guy ambushed him killing him instantly! The other officer returned fire and was shot from his side where the vest didn’t protect and went through his heart! The murderer was injured enough that he could not get away and after almost 2 years was sentenced to, 2 life sentences without parole plus 10 years for a convicted felon in possession of a firearm! Sorry, just had to explain how it happened. My son was hit twice in his head! My prayers go out to all law enforcement officers daily!🙏🏻
@@darrellwhite4358Your son is a warrior in the ultimate army now. Cradled by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Rest assured his sacrifice here was rewarded with life everlasting. We shall meet with him again. Bless you and your family.
@@darrellwhite4358 Never apologize for sharing this story. It is important that people hear it so we can collectively fight for a better future in which this kind of senseless, pointless violence doesn't happen. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Lights attract weary and tires eyes. There are drivers that are doing so much while behind the wheel of vehicles that they are only 30% focused on what is in front of them
The driver was DUI , fentanyl, cocaine and morphine with priors - the driver, a junkie , erratic driving detected from black box - exited the road shoulder onto grass and didn’t break
March 28th is indeed a somber day for me also. Three years ago on that day my oldest daughter was murdered. I come from a police background and my heart goes out to her family. Bless you and know I hurt for you.
It's going to be interesting to see how the prosecutors handle this as. A few years ago a man was hit and killed walking in crosswalk by police officer the officer was fined less than 50 dollars and the fine was for not yielding. The irony in that case the man worked in da office
There is definitely a double standard when it come to police vs public even though the police claim they are held to a higher standard. News over time has proved that to be false. They are protected & shielded from accountability. Rules for thee, not for me.
Served her country and community. Thanks for your service from all veterans. 🇺🇸🎖️💪🏼💪🏾 Do they check the drivers logs because something’s going on with all those big rigs.
What's going on is they keep eliminating regulations which were put in place to stop such things. They put regulations in place because businesses won't do what's right if it will cost them a dollar! Legislators don't come to work saying how can I make life tougher for everyone today!
Yeah pigs want to bust them speeders so bad they don't care what kind of a dangerous deal they setup for everyone else on the road, gotta make the revenue for the dept so the dept can get all them cool new age toys and raises... Only stupid people stop on highways, should be for emergency use only, not to use for revenue earning. She put herself in that stupid spot, I just feel sorry for the truck driver that was really just trying to earn a living and providing a useful service unlike the police.
Yeah there's been a massive spike of cops dying while either parked on the side of the road or performing a traffic stop in the past few years... The first thing I thought when I watched the first couple videos that I saw of it happening was "These guys did that shit on purpose" of course who who knows but that was just what ran through my mind
@@emsparamedic5183 for sure... While there would be no way to prove it in most cases I think some of them were absolutely intentional.. The massive spike of it happening probably helped manifest that thought lol but yeah
Did she have any lights on? Did she have emergency lights on? Why was she sitting on the shoulder? Did she have a seatbelt on? Did airbags deploy? Was the truck driver impaired? Sleepy? I like it when the news gives me some actual news. Do you have any investigative journalists?
My heartfelt condolences go out to this hero’s family I’m truly sorry for their loss!! And her country thanks her /her family for her service/selfless sacrifice. And May now she rest in Peace until her family can reunite with her in Heaven someday soon!!
Especially when they are forced to drive tired because a computer determines when they can drive and when they can’t. That’s why I no longer drive tractor trailers. I quit driving as soon as they mandated the time restrictions.
Not necessarily. Cops take it personally and don't recognize mistakes happen, unless it is one of their own. Then professionalism is unrealistic. Recently a story about a woman charged for a cop's death, when he darted out into traffic behind a visible obstruction.
@@Jaxon1127 Inattentive driving? Failure to maintain control of the vehicle? Failure to maintain your lane? Any of these combined with a loss of life can be charged as vehicular homicide or negligent homicide depending on the jurisdiction.
@icecold9511 it's not like his tire burst he went into the emergency lane at high speeds and struck n killed a person. He was either 1 distracted 2 sleepy 3 drunk or 4 driving recklessly. If the tire had burst or somthing then either 1 the company he works for would be sued, or 2, he would be sued for not maintaining his vehicle unless sit was a sudden and unpredictable failure
Law enforcement is still not the most dangerous job by far. Sorry for the loss but an occupational hazard of the job just like tow truck drivers face every day.
In other jobs, workers are not routinely and intentionally attacked or murdered because of their chosen occupation. Go to work daily with that thought and see how it affects you.
Yea bro everyone knows that, but it doaent mean we shouldn't mourn the loss of one when they die doing this job, especially scene there knowingly doing a dangerous job. Like being a delivery guy is more dangerous, but they don't usually go into the job knowing they have a good chance of dying.
Sounds like he dozed off at the wheel, an all-too common occurrence for long-haul truck drivers. Get your rest before driving, a cup of coffee won't do the trick when you're really tired.
No lights police on? No flashers? What really happened here No facts to say what happened here and people are judging shame on you let's hear the facts.first
Doesn't matter. You're supposed to be in a LANE, not on the shoulder. The cruiser was on the right, but most of the damage on the truck is on the left front, which means the truck was off the shoulder into the grass when it hit the cruiser.
@@GuitarBonk Actually, that's NOT a wrecker, it's a tire service vehicle for heavy duty industrial and ag tires, like large loaders or tractor tires. It helps if you actually know what your talking about. Any vehicle can be equipped with a dash cam BTW...
@@ffjsbIt maybe a case of 'target fixation' This is the case where you go where you stare. I was trained to acknowledged the obstructions to avoid AND LOOK AWAY to where I want (must) to go
Saw this from Georgia. Be advised. This truck driver ALWAYS ALWAYS moves over for law enforcement, first responders, and tow trucks. Period. My condolences to the family, friends, coworkers, and loved ones of those lost. I am so very sorry.
I myself am a truck driver for UPS and I’ll be the first to tell you that the quality of drivers is horrible! Please please please be aware of this and be cautious around anyone behind the wheel especially truckers because they can do so much damage. The reasons are many but trucking companies who continue to hire bad drivers continues. The standards keep getting lowered and the accidents keep going higher. So many drivers are irresponsible and possibly on drugs or other meds. I see truckers literally watching tv on their laptops mounted on the dashboards ! Yes I see this and often! Makes me almost insane to see the bad truckers out there. I feel helpless. I have a 27 yr old daughter who is a law enforcement officer so my heart bleeds for this young officer who lost her life due to most likely a completely avoidable accident. God Bless her 🙏🏻
She’s in heaven for sure . She served our country in every way possible .. dang she a bad ass woman .. Mp officer and also fought in Afghanistan and then a police officer after .. why the good have to die young . Hope this warrior rest in peace .
If he was taken into custody, then he must have been impaired. Being arrested for a traffic death usually comes weeks later, after an investigation, if it was an accident. Immediate arrest indicates driver was drunk or on drugs.
You have a accident while driving a commercial vehicle you take blood and other test almost immediately…I drove a few years, I’d say he was high or something for sure if they arrested him that fast.
Thank you for your service, as a u.s vet.and a first responder, my you rest in peace, My condolences to your family, friends, sheriff's Department, and the community you served .
It looked like a rural road, so one lane each way and shoulder/ break down lane on each side. No way driver should have hit the car unless distracted/ impaired.
"driver of the Kenworth truck" Nothing wrong with how it was reportedly. They weren't describing who owned the truck or the business, simply the type of truck.
@@chuckfinley4757 Actually KENMORE is the maker/manufacturer, they make different types/sized vehicles. Reporters are supposed to offer the public WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, HOW and WHY - or as many as possible. How often do you refer to a truck by the maker and not the owner/Business? Most folks associate a truck with a company and most are badged. I had to wonder why she left it off her story? The way she reported some people might think she was talking about a KENWORTH company, much like a FEX EX or X(insert name) TRUCKING LINE, etc.
@@ponderrosie4975 Are you serious? He wasn't driving a f-ing washing machine. You accuse them of shoddy reporting. Oh the irony. They are reporting what was in the police report. Ever ready a police report on a crash? The involved vehicles are identify by make and manufacture.
My condolences and prayers for the family. Barring a medical event of mechanical failure, I hope the truck driver is held responsible. We have the most careless and irresponsible truck drivers on the road today and they need to be held accountable!
@@MaryHartman-ei9pv That was before he tanked the economy, sold us out to Saudi Arabia, denied his oath to the constitution and claimed he's above the constitution and rule of law.... you can't call yourself a patriot if you support that...
Happens way more then it should. I’m just guessing here, I think drivers zone out at night and just follow the lights in front of them. If they snap out of it, much to late for correction.
Condolences to all of her loved ones & fellow officers. Prayers up for your comfort & strength. Thank you for your service and may you RIP. So sad for this loss....
@@valpost6234 no police officers are ever illegally parked because they are police officers they have jurisdiction all over the entire State now take a motherfuking seat
Accidents do happen , Mary. If there was criminal wrong doing, then yes, charges should be brought, but if it was an accident, then the truckers own conscience will punish him for years.
The bottom line is this is a police officer she has jurisdiction wherever she wants to park because she is an officer of the law they have full jurisdiction this person will pay for taking her life
