Now well run in from her recent return to the mainline, Merchant Navy Class No. 35028 Clan Line took charge of another one of her regular 'British Pullman' duties, running from London Victoria to Dover and back.
This short video sees the engine on it's journey back towards the capital, filmed from Little Mowhurst foot crossing just prior to Edenbridge station, with the Merchant Navy powering away from a 20mph speed restriction, looking fabulous as ever.

Very nice as always. I went to Merstham for my video. Something I have noticed with steam and foot crossings is the number of times a crossing does not receive a whistle when passing the applicable 'W' board, as here, with the quick toot being for you rather than at the required distance to be effective. It is especially noticeable on the North Downs line, where there are numerous crossings but often most are not whistled for.

Thanks Ian, looking at the footage it doesn't seem like this crossing has a whistle board. As for the north downs line, various crossings along there have been modified, revamped or straight up removed, which no longe requires a warning whistle.

@@themodster OK, wonder why that crossing has no W board. However, I was thinking of years back when the BP used to run along the NDL, and most W boards seemed to be missed out then.
