Love the transformation that you are making on your long-term home. Wonderful execution. I also can't wait to see how your harness the power of your stream for long-term free electricity. The stream is long enough to install several hydro generation units. Keep up the great work and all the best to you!

Suggestion you asked for about getting that huge hunk of timber upward. The You Tube channel Escape to Rural France has a man doing a lot of what you're doing and doing it mostly alone. He rigged up a block and tackle for some things and he bought a lifting king of contraption with forklift like arms. It would be worth the investment considering all the work ahead of you. Congrats on 10K. See you at 100K.

Having already done up the house we live in before i met my wife i can sympathise with you on working on your own for long periods as its better to bounce off someone else when trying to work around problems,i dont know why but its very therapeutic to tidy up every now and again its easier to see where you are going as in the future of the renovation, any way good luck going forward to you both,👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Move the staging away from the house far enough for the beam to fit between them. Build temporary staging across the top tying house and scaffolding together. Has to be high enough to accommodate block and tackle at each end to lift beam. I’ve also seen beams that heavy strapped to the side of a scissor lift and lifted into place. Well, maybe I have…how heavy is that beam?

You need one of those platform rigs, for lifting stuff up and down, when you only have one set of hands. Love the project and what your doing. For context would love to know what it actually cost to buy the place as i want to do something similar. Problem with all the tv programmes in the uk is they give the romantic vision, but never the true reality.

Thanks for sharing this undertaking with us, hope you get to the 100k soon! If i may ask why you use this massive piece of oak for this beam, so expensive and heavy? Couldnt you use a smaller oak piece for the front and a lighter, cheaper alternative behind? Screw and gleu the pieces together once in place.

Hey don´t put yourself down think you did an amazing job putting the profile in, you made it look easy but the reality was certainly different I am sure. Working with oak that is hard as nails and weighing a good 200kg I am sure, working on your own, and achieving such a great result is pretty impressive, especially when you sain you were not feeling 100%.. so well done. Just hope you can draft in the local rugby team in to help you lift it into place... You also had a good tidyup and cleared the decks so a very productive week in my opinion.. Well Done Robb Torremolinos Spain 😊
