This is the perfect application for the best science delivery method - cars on a belt! You could be feeding all 43 flavors of science from a single yellow belt. And it would look awesome - a long line of cars, stopping at each science pack assembler to pick up a load, then driving through the labs to deliver every flavor. Definitely the way I would do it.

One thing I appreciate about this mod is that you don't need to setup much of a mall. You can make grab boxes for all the science stuff and then you only need to automate a few things (undergrounds, splitters, chemical plants, and oil refineries).

if you are still troubled by the issue of getting more different science packs into the labs before you get bots, i have thought of a solution. it is multiple sets of belt weaves aimed directly towards the labs. since you only have vanilla inserters, long inserters are the most range you are gonna get, so a two-colored belt weave lane for each tile of the lab would be ideal. this means you can have up to 12 different science packs for each side of the lab, for a total of 48. though i suggest having a two tile wide three-color weave running between two labs would be more space efficient to set up. the only downsides to this approach are that the labs can't feed into each other and that each lab needs to be spaced apart quite a bit, leading to having lots of packs sitting on the belts and a lot of wasted space to setup the weaves. also, once you finished the playthrough, could you set up a rainbow belt carousel with science packs sorted by color? with maybe a lab or the silo in the middle. i think it would look quite nice and could be the perfect thumbnail picture for the playthrough or at least the last episode.

For the end-game labs: There can be 6 inserters per side. Each inserter can reach 2 different items (without sushi, 1 per lane). There are 4 sides. So a maximum of 6*2*4=48 different flasks. That's enough. The only problem is making the belt spaghetti around the labs look nice, but since not all 48 possible slots are needed there is some leeway to waste capacity for looks.

Okay, so hear me out Mike. I have a solution to feeding 40+ science packs into labs later in the run. TRAIN WAGONS Seriously, they have 40 slots each that can each be filtered to a different science pack. Since there will be more than 40 science packs by the end, just have two parallel lines of wagons that have inserters feeding a line of labs between them (so each lab is being fed from both sides). With the filtered slots (just like in the ribbon world video with your train main bus), the wagons will never overfill with too much of the stuff you don't need, and you won't need crazy numbers of inserters per lab. It sounds super cursed but this isn't even a joke suggestion, I think this will genuinely be an elegant solution if you can get over the weirdness of having stationary train wagons each on separate minimum size bits of track that never move anywhere. I have seen DoshDoshington use chains of train wagons with filtered slots + inserters as an entire MAIN BUS in his beltless run video. It's wacky and dumb but it works, PLEASE DO IT :D
