Insta360 just told me something exciting coming up about the Insta360 ONE R 360 Livestream!! I guess my anime joke did an epic impact on their R&D 😂 - I can't tell you what it is as I am under NDA. But keep an eye on here as new Insta360 ONE R live stream tutorial is coming up to attack a different problem in 360 live stream. Get the latest news in 360VR camera tech, don't forget to check comments too as I will update you whenever I have news from the official source!!
if they could allow livestream from camera on your existing wifi network, without needing cable to your phone, like the Garmin that would be really useful
Hi - luv your videos! I'm stuck in Kyoto (good place to get stuck, lol), during cherry blossom season, wanted to get on my bike and livestream video via iPhone to my mom at home + others. Seems like most existing portable 360 setups dont allow charging both, while live streaming. Is this something to expect with Insta360 ONE R? :) otherwise, anything alternatives you could suggest?
Live stream with out cable would be nice and able to due thru mobile hotspots great i do a lot of breaking news live stream. Pure mobile 360 devices and set up
First I want to thank Hugh for continuing to post amazing professional and such valuable content. I wouldn’t be where I’m at now without his professional expertise in VR/film/editing and everything 360/180! With the help of Hughs videos tutorials I have been able to create VR CYCLING videos that promote viewers to workout while viewing various bike trails around the U.S. I believe VR can help us understand the role that exercise plays in our own health & wellness as well as it’s potential to motivate and entertaining us to sustain a lifetime of physical fitness. This wouldn’t be possible without your insight and knowledge, Thank you so much Hugh! ❤️🚴♂️🚴♀️
I agree the labpano has a better dynamic range but I prefer the color science of the QooCam 8K. I feel the same way about the Obsidian R. It may not be the most powerful professional camera but what you get out of the camera without color grading seems beautiful to me. How do you feel about the colors out of the box for the different cameras, Hugh?
I personally like Kandao as well. As I am also an Obsidian user and Kandao has been in the business prob longer than most. They do has some secret sauce in color science.
Hi again Hugh loving all your content and thank you in advance for getting back to me! I was wondering on the microphone you would suggest or recommend for 360 shooting or one that you like or use. I have the qoocam enterprise and after watching the I see you recomend the lavalier for these to get away from the fan noise. Thanks for all you help and have a great weekend! If ever up in Portland OR you have a place.
Great video! Really appreciate the time and effort you put into all the 360 knowledge. In the future could you maybe cover using something like the insta360 one r for real estate and best lighting settings and maybe light solutions like the halo. I'm currently using this for real estate and businesses tours. Thanks for the info, I'll definitely start using 360 streaming on my RU-vid channel. 😎👍
Great suggestion! So the tips in this video work on any camera including the ONE R. For live streaming - ONE R is a no go. For real estate live stream, as it is a common ask on my channel, I will suggest go for the Qoocam 8K as it is a great virtual tour camera dispair all the hates from other influencers. But if you don't do livestreaming, your One R is great. I will make a shooting tutorial with ONE R in professional setting soon for 360 Video. Working on a ONE R production now for proof of concept to push quality beyond the ONE R can deliver :)
@@hughhou Awesome, thank you for responding. 👍 Yeah I'm only using the one r for real estate and insurance claims. I have to shoot everything in night mode as it has the best details for some reason. Even during the day night mode works better than HDR. Wish it didn't take so long to process or have the ability to shoot only raw without jpg to save time and space. I did a virtual tour today and it took over 1700 photos because it shoots 9 images for each format, 16 total for every shot. For a 3800sqf house it takes a lot of time. Anyway, I really appreciate your time and effort. 👍
Love too but I realize this is not OUT lol. Bushman production is set back by the lockdown as Europe is getting pretty bad. I will ping you when I get more info on the Halo. It is one of the must have for 360 Video production.
I am new here and I was considering 360 live-streams a few years ago. I am a youth worker for local government and help young people. I do live-streams but 2D streams with my dslr. I really enjoy your content and think it’s going to get educators and business up and running.
Thank you! Yes I think 360 livestream is badly need it now for quick low tech setup. I am working on different camera makers to make everything more stable. Will have new tutorial out for even more hands-on for ppl never touch 360 camera before.
CreatorUp as someone who lost their job because of the virus due to social isolation restrictions i found myself getting some work doing facebook live and delivering content through that medium. i would love to know the best way to use 360 livestream that deliver high quality stream on an affordable price .
I am planning on getting back into 360 video after trying to create a 360 theater a few years back. During covid I have been thinking about ways 360 video could be used. Thank You for making this great video, amazing content and spot on!!
Insta One X streaming via rtmp is working!!! Thanks Hugh!!! Please make a video about 180 streaming, because like you said - sometimes it is more suitable that 360. Best regards from Siberia!
Thanks Hugh! Great Job on the reviews. Extremely helpful for me who is trying to come up to speed quickly in this tech to solve an urgent business need... you guessed it! Pandemic related.
No. GoPro MAX does not support 360 livestream. You need dedicated camera like some of the options listed here or from my latest tutorial and review like the Pano X - we did the Vision Pro unboxing using that techniques
Still in beta - but just the interface different - you can use the current app to follow this exactly that - the OTHER is what livestream does on your current firmware. So it will work!
I realize this is not OUT lol. Bushman production is set back by the lockdown as Europe is getting pretty bad. I will ping you when I get more info on the Halo. It is one of the must have for 360 Video production.
Great tutorial thank you. I however couldn't find any tutorial such as this one, using the gopro MAX. is it even possible to live stream spherical video with it?
One R can not do livestream. One X can so One X is a great alternative (also dirt cheap). Then Qoocam 8K here is the king in livestream - if you have the cash - go form Pilot one
Both Qoocam 8K and Pilot One are good choice. Qoocam 8K Enterprise is coming as well but it will be more expensive. If budget is an issue - One X will work just can last for more than half hour of streaming.
Thx a lot. Would go for qoocam if there would be live stabilization... pilot is too expansive for me :( sad... do you ha e any tips for normal cam for live streaming with stabilization?? I mean one that works... not like gopro where you have to pray for a connection 😅
Hi Hugh! Amazing video, as well. Do you have a tutorial for livestreaming with the Insta360 Pro 2? I'm trying to figure out how I can get better audio out of it. Thank you so much for your work.
It works but not widely use. Facebook and RU-vid both do not support 8K. I don't know of a platform right now offer 8K streaming for free and has built in audience. Local stream - Oculus Go or Quest won't do it. There are no standalone headset for 8K in US as Skyworth is not launched in US yet. So lack of devices and services make US market not a 8K market. 5G network is here so we do have the infrastructure - tech need to catch up.
@@hughhou Hi Hugh, thanks for clarifying. I agree the major platforms have not embraced 8K yet. I think that is mainly because of the high bandwidth requirements. For streaming 4K you need around 15-20 mbps, while for 8K you need 60-80 Mbps. And most affordable headsets don't even have 8K decoders, so they are not built for the purpose of streaming 8K. However, with viewport adaptive streaming technology you can stream 8K monoscopic 360video at the same bitrate as 4K 360video. This means you can stream 8K on headsets as the Go and Quest, or even 12K on a Skyworth, bot local and streaming via the internet. When 8k 360video at only 20 mbps you can even stream it over 4G. And 5G will allow you to stream even higher resolution to wireless headsets. I fully agreement with your statement, but felt there was a little nuance to be made here. If you like to test this sometime, please PM.
Hello thank you so much for your content it-s super good. I need to configure a setup for outdoor, 360VR, but it will be on the same place, no need to move. Thank you!
I cannot believe I haven't seen you channel before right now! your video is incredibly well explained and vrey very high quiality video and sound! subbed
Yes I AM interested on live VR 3d 180 with vuze xr on Facebook or RU-vid... Seems like I'm ONLY having 2D both in 180 or 360. In vuze VR stream apears half of 360 in stead of a stereoscopic image-3D on RU-vid. And in Facebook seems like I only have a 3D (and a bad on) or vr 2D. Am I missing some configuration?
I'm trying to figure out a complex task. I want to live stream a 3-4hours art performance in 360 in an outdoor location and also have the recording afterwards for producing an edited video. I believe the easiest way is to livestream through my iPhone on Facebook or RU-vid. Sound is not that important but image quality is. Need to be able to connect camera and phone to power banks to last for 4 hours. Budget needs to stay low around £500! I was planning to buy an Insta360 R , InstaEVO or GoPro Max. After watching your video it seems that the Qoocam 8K is the best option. Any tips?
Qoocam 8K can not record while livestream yet. Enterprise you can: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7NNeykhvNhs.html - another option (and more reliable one) is Insta360 Pro 2
@@hughhou Thank you for your reply! Insta 360 Pro 2 is far off my budget. Will the live streaming be available afterwards to download from RU-vid? I guess in that case the quality won't be as good... An inexpensive solution would be to use an Insta360 Nano S attached to my iPhone, with the phone charging from a power bank. Have you got any reviews for this camera?
Another great video Hugh - you explained Qoocam 8k streaming really well, and so I got it working tonight with my Qoocam 8k live streaming to youtube :)
@@hughhou Will live stream until the battery runs out. However if I get any notifications, messages, or turn screen off on phone, it cuts the live stream and need to restart
With the Mobile app. But EVO can not livestream with cable so it is basically impossible as mobile network can not stream 360 video - same problem as ONE R and ONE X2 - all insta360 except the ONE X suffer from this common problem.
Your videos are my go to for all things 360 production. Thanks for producing incredibly useful content :) I wonder if you can point me toward more information regarding using an H3VR as external audio interface for Qoocam?
Great suggestion! So right now I just use H3VR and Qoocam 8K at the same time with clap sync - in fact that is how I use H3VR for everything. People use USB connection from H3VR to Insta360 Titan (top USB) - I think all it gain is timecode sync but still the audio file is not store internally in the camera. So just follow my H3VR tutorial series, clap sync your audio to reference audio in Qoocam 8K - then you are golden. Timecode sync is really nice but not in the 360 world or too expensive to have.
@@hughhou Ahh, I see! I had misunderstood and thought the camera supported USB audio interfaces. For now, I'm using RTMP feeds and syncing with FOA or 2OA for live (though currently working on getting 3OA up and running) or various sync methods for post. Was hoping there was simple, run and gun ambisonic support for live...Alas! Maybe someday!
@@hughhou It has a fatal flaw . originally bought for breaking news live streaming like I can do with samsung 2017 straight to a page. Well found out nope that don't work only to acct and now facebook is messing with live broadcast rtmp link stuff so you can't do that work around. And second was going to use it for Google Street view. But the gps may brake free and serious damage. I do a lot of hiking/ walking with GSTV . to ahow trails and such. And also use it to update reality phones curb view of places that have been total remodeld to show up date in Google Street view . people use google to look at street and neighborhood. So a 1600 folly. Maybe you can convince them to fix the facebook interface for live to also do pages like insta and samsung
Hello! New subscriber here. Loving this channel! I'm a professor at a school and I'm thinking of doing something interesting and experimenting with 3D video. I would like to stream live (and for several hours). Can the Insta360 ONE R, stream through a regular computer (and not a phone)? Or could it work with something like an iPad but I can charge the iPad and the camera at the same time? Thanks for your advice and expertise. I might be able to get someone to spend $500 or less on a camera, but the $1200 and up is not going to work.
I have a TECHE 360Anywhere camera I just got. How do I connect it to allow 1) RU-vid VR And 2) RU-vid 360 And how can I show the 360 on my own web page for invited clients to see (and allow people to navigate in the VR video). I have the cables that came with camera Ethernet and USB-C and AC power adapter. I can use OBS studio IF I have to but need assistance with setup for TECHE 360Anywhere camera. Am I correct that the computer either connecting to FB or YT has to connect to camera via Ethernet, and the TECHE app is WI-FI to allow camera mode and LIVE stream control??? Thank you. Am spinning wheels here. Documentation at TECHE is not clear to me
Great! I have a tutorial on this channel about it. You should use it with ethernet connection. Better than all the camera I mentioned in this video. But again Pro 1 is not cheap lol
Hey Hugh!! You've been a HUGH-GE help in my 360 endeavors! I have successfully been able to live stream via rtmp on both my One-R and my QooCam 8k but am curious how to implement a live stream to an Oculus Quest 2 headset. Is this possible for live streams? I looked through your videos but don't think I found a video that explains if this is possible.. Can you assist? I'm doing a live 360 event next week and would love to know if this is possible :)
@@hughhou Awesome! Thank you for letting me know! Also, how long are you able to do a successful non-interrupted live stream for on the qoocam 8k. NOT the enterprise but the baby brother version?
Cant decide between Insta 360 One R Twin or QooCam 8K 360 Camera . I have a Surface Pro I7 and a Samsung Note 10 Plus. No VR headset ,I am not a professional. This would my first 360 camera. I want best quality videos and pictures for travel Can QooCam record regular 4k non 360 videos?
Great video thanks a lot! but please note that both Europe and US are far behind in adding technology into hospitals, real time screening etc. A lot is also happening because of all of the private rules. This prevents Europe and US a lot. In China people are monitored realtime in the streets....this is unfortunate not allowed at all in Europe and US.
Your videos are very helpful to me. I've been waiting for the QooCam 8K Enterprise to be released. If I buy a QooCam 8K now, will I be able to upgrade to it when the QooCam 8K Enterprise comes out?
Yes! We are waiting couple new VR180 camera coming out - but COVID delay everything - when new camera is out we will be back to VR180 including livestream. Also Facebook side need coupled bug fix as well.
Hi, great video and great channel!! A question for you. I'm looking for a video encoder that can stream 360 video through bonded LTE/4G multiple connections. Something like Liveu Solo or Solo+ but that works with 360 videos. Any ideas? Thank you again for your help!
How can you multicast to both Facebook and RU-vid at the same time? And can you also record the video in original quality (instead of using the compressed replay on Facebook/RU-vid) at the same time as you live stream?
@@hughhou Thanks a lot for the answer! One more question, you are saying that you cannot connect an external microphone to the One X, but if you are using OBS, should you be able to simply connect the microphone to OBS no?
And it is the same to me regarding the wireless streaming. If you connect the camera to a computer with a cable, you shouldn't need to use any wireless feature no? Can you connect the Labpano Pilot One or the Qoocam 8k to a computer and OBS using the cable?
great tutorial, but... seems not working for me, my qookam 8K go live (with right settings on "other livestream", which in my case means a sort of "manual" youtube rtmp settings) but in my youtube channel the signal don't arrive at all... where I'm wrong?
Did you put the "/" between your Stream URL and Streamkey? Can you try RTMP livestream just with a 2D camera to test on your home connection? But mostly likely your type the stream key or URL wrong - triple check them - Cap letter also matter!
@@hughhou thanks for answering! Yes, I did it with cut&paste and inserting "/". And triple checked! (for example, I can do live stream without problems with my Insta360Pro). I guess the issue can be in USB connection with phone, (I've tried with Huawei P20 Lite or Samsung S9+) that maybe doesn't recognize correctly the stream arriving from the camera?
Thanks Hugh. This video tutorial is exactly what I’ve been looking for. After Covid-19, I need to live-stream an all-day sporting event (on a budget) and I want to do it in 360. Overheating will be an issue and so will using mobile data. I really need to stream it via my computer so (maybe) the Pilot One (might be) the best solution for us.?
Glad it helped! Pilot one is def a good chose but we need to wait for the official 4G Mod to test it to confirm. If you can wait - Qoocam 8K enterprise is also out end of this month with Ethernet, Audio support - and it won't overheat - it is a camera built solely for livestream 4K - 8K. But still I need to get my hand on those to confirm "all-day" not drop off. Right now both camera has drop off (I mean all the camera has drop off lol)
@@hughhou Thanks Hugh for your reply. That's interesting. Yes I can and I will wait for your review of the Qoocam 8K enterprise at the end of the month. I've just sent and email to Labpano asking about delivery times for the Pilot One and accessories like the CAT 6 or the CAT12 4G network mod. I've never heard of CAT12 so not sure if its necessary for what I want it for. Exciting developments.
Hi Hugh, first of all thank you for the very good explanation, finally I can go live on a Facebook page. I have the new user interface for LiveProducer on Facebook and I cannot find the 360 degree setting, for the old one I could always select it on the right side. Where can I find this setting for the new interface or can I switch to the old one?
do you know of new 360 cams getting ready for release soon... I'm thinking of getting a Qoocam 8K but want to make sure I don't buy one and then a newer camera comes out just as I make the purchase... thanks
Not for the price range. Teche 360Anywhere is coming soon. But it is expensive. No news from Insta360 - they need to work on the ONE R first as lots of attachements are still pending.
Hi CreatorUp, you mentioned the split cable to supply power to the phone and camera to the same time (which I need to shoot longer livestream outdoors with the help of powerbanks). Question 1) - is the cable included? 2) if not available by kandao (you mentioned it will come out soon), does a 3.party cable the same job (the split cables I know can only provide power and NOT data for the connected devices) 3) Do I need the cable only to provide power or also to transfer data? Different subject: Insta 360 One R also provides external audio (with the adaptor) 1) does the camera the same good job as Qoocam 8K does? 2) is there also a solution to power supply camera + iPhone at the same time and transfer data? I need a solution for outdoor shooting with external audio longer than one hour. price is secondary
I just received my split cable today and I will do a livestream LIVE test with everyone soon also announce my giveaway winner (if you have not checked out my Instagram for a chance to win). So to your question - the split cable is from official Kandao so no third party will work. The camera come with data cable. But the split cable sold separately as you don't need the split cable unless you do livestream. The data go into your phone for livestream and at the same time charge your camera. For ONE R - ONE R does not have livestream right now so we don't know the livestream audio quality. But check my ONE R audio test - it is really good just for recording: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PNnfkUYqiuk.html - No ONE R does not have it YET. But they might have different way to handle the problem and I can't tell you anything yet as I am under NDA.
@@hughhou Hello CreatorUp, I'm really desperate. I can't find a single shop that sells this split cable and the Lightning to USB-C cable. Do you have an address where I can buy the cables?
Great videos please keep them up. i have one question at 11.49 you talk about 30mb per second. There is no option its 4mb fixed. Never managed to get online has something changed with the firmware from when you recorded this. mine has version uou105
They are releasing 30 - 50Mbps in the next firmware. You can change it as long as your upstream speed can meet the requirement - I can go 50Mbps in my house and the quality is good for at least the Pilot One.
Hi, Again superb and meaningful content. About the Netgear Nighthawk device that you mention towards the end, is it for upload connection of live-stream data (connected to the camera)? Their webpage seems to suggest it is for download and for streaming content? Maybe I misunderstood. Please take a look when you get a chance. Thx again and stay safe.
That is not released so there is no way for me to validate that. But my provider AT&T suggest me to get it for streaming - including upstream. Huawei has a great one I was using forgot the model number which work great - just need 5G sim card and it is not limited by carriers. I will call your carrier - AT&T, T-mobile, Verzion etc to ask their suggestion. As they will be the one provide you the 5G data - so they have suggestion that work best with their network. 5G hotspot is great if you have one.
Any chance you can detail what you meant by “pay more for enterprise edition” regarding the qoocam? Is that a software option? Or - could you do a quick video that discusses qoocam 8k versus the enterprise?
I am waiting it to be out. Qoocam 8K Enterprise is a DIFFERENT CAMERA that solely build for livestream - it is a hardware + software option. Software is going to be the same as their professional line Kandao Obsidian. Kandao is a 360 livestream company - so I think they want to be very specializing on this release - it target to livestream professionals
thank you very mutch for the valuable updates on this 360 topics! great work as always! my entry was the yi 360.... and they dropped it and us users so badly...need an upgrade but i'm not quit sure if i should upgrade now or wait for upcoming cameras.. got some real estate requstes and a few for live streaming... what would be your suggestion? thanks once again! your work keeps hope alive!
I will suggest keep using your Yi 360 - that is my backup livestream camera for the past 2 years. I believe it still works (have not touched it for a year now). it stream up to 1440P with mobile network and the quality is great. I don't think you need to buy any new camera - Yi 360 is better than One X - I know that for sure lol. Also has audio cable to allow external audio input. Actually lots of professional company still using it for modified RTMP 4K stream using OBS!
@@hughhou thanks a lot for your expert suggestion. value it highly! after some research got to admit my knowledge is not enough to figure out the modified RTMP 4K stream variant yet. i believe streaming off the app does not work anymore - i may be wrong...got to go deeper. if you have any hint or a link... after years in this still mutch to do to get "Creator Hub ready"...
@@hughhou couldn't get it running. The guys in the FB group say "forget about the yi360 - no livestream via app, no updates" and actually even the download page for the yi360 studio PC-Prog is emptied - nothing available... it unfortunatly seems YI dropped this great cam completly. thank you very mutch for your affords, though!
@@hughhou you probably already know. FB 360 live streaming can be enabled (the older version of Live Producer) by just joining this FB group facebook.com/groups/374276306954940/
Hey Hugh, thank you for all the good stuff. Last year we invested in a Insta 360 Titan and I was wondering if you could also have some tipps how to do the 360 live streaming with this model. We are also running one of the biggest LED caves (www.facebook.de/ledcave) in Europe by using Unreal Engine and we would like to offer the 360 subject for our customers as well. Furthermore I am very interested in green screen volumetric production. When will there some tutorials available?
Wow Frank the cave look amazing! Email me at learning@creatorup.com - would love to get involved. The Titan livestream require customized development at this point and only SuperSphere is able to do so. I still have not sue the Titan to livestream in 360 yet. I also want to know how to use Unreal Engine to do live 360 production - we reach out to Epic Game but still not enough interests for Epic Games to put more attention on this area. VolCap is a entire different beast - do you really mean VolCap or 360 green screen production?
Why is it impossible to stream VR content directly to VR Googles? I tried with my Insta360 One X and my Oculus Go, doesnˋt work. With Insta360OneX and IOS or iPadOS it works very good. Any Ideas to get the Oculus Go work with direct VR Stream?
So Labpano Pilot one can direct stream into VR headset in 8K like Skyworth. But it is basically the same - with RTMP local stream. That is a lot more complicated topic I willl need another tutorial to talk about. Let me actually hit up Oculus for that
CreatorUp Maybe it is possible to sideload the Android Version Insta360 One X to the Oculus Go. Maybe the Oculus Go will display the streamed Preview correctly. In iOS the resolution of the preview stream is very good.
CreatorUp I got it up lice streaming now. But there is no setting to make it 360 video. I tried to switch it back to the older version but it wont switch it back at all in Facebook
CreatorUp is there a specific link I can use to host 360 live stream w Facebook? I tried so many times; it only allows me to do a regular video streaming. I couldn't switch it back to the older version as you referred in the video.
For some reason I can switch back to the classic facebook for only 48 hours and even when doing so when I click on the link to create the live 360 feed, it shows me the live streaming interface of the new Facebook. This is very frustrating, do you know how to get around this?
