@@MKR3238 prob not, they are taxing everything here in Brazil. I spent the last 8 months building my new pc with a 7900xtx bringing everything from the US when I had someone from my family going there. Saved about 2000$ - 3000$
Oled monitors are moving fast! Still feels like 32" is to big and all these 27" options is so welcomed and with 1440p 360fps isn't a impossibility with most games.
Agreed. 32 is too big unless you place it at the very back of your desk or on the wall behind it. 1440 is unfortunately still not quite as crisp as I'd like it for a 27". For gaming, 1440p is the sweet spot, but for text editing, 27" 4K would be ideal.
It has always been the case, it's always such a shame to see resellers doing a 1:1 conversion from $ to €. (now it's more or less the same but it wasn't back in the days)
Showing the steam store page consumes 33 watts on this 27 inch model and on the 32 inch asus qd oled it was 32 watts??? More than double the pixels and larger surface to display to and lower power usage on an otherwise almost identical panel. this sounds very weird.
@@Official-KhronicYou'd think so, but as Tim mentioned prices of WOLED 240Hz models are about equal in EUR=USD pricing, so that's not the case. It's just that pricing is initially really inflated in EU but comes down quite fast.
Thank you for those new mid APL and high APL scene measurements. Those really show that OLEDs still have to improve brightness. The ABL really annoys me on my C2 on basically any daylight/bright scene
I've never noticed ABL during movies, games or shows on my C2, only with white windows on PC. Pretty sure LG released an update a few months back to address this, it's supposed to be much more toned down now but again, I never noticed it.
Yeah it sux.. there are oleds out there that hold 400 nits sdr at 100% white windows (dell laptop) They are just too aggressive on these TV's and monitors.
I’ve tried both the Asus WOLED 240 and Alienware QDOLED 360 and the Matte Coating is so grainy it ruins the image for me. Especially perceived contrast like muzzle flashes.
Just received it yesterday, I’m a bit of a casual so I can’t really tell you like the main stuff. But overall the monitor is amazing I love the glossy screen it looks really smooth and the colours are great, so is the brightness too. I run it in Dark HDR mode. I’m coming from a 1080p 240hz asus so I mean I can’t really see a negative point.
Hey, first of all awesome review i bought the monitor because of it. I have a question regarding Rtings review. They measured a high input lag at 120Hz and 60Hz especially with VRR on. Some people say as long as you have set the monitor to 360Hz you will have the lowest input lag even with VRR working at lower refresh rates (Elden Ring is capped at 60fps for example). So I was wondering if the input lag is really higher in such a case. I also read about Quick Frame Transport which should reduce input lag. Would really appreciate it if you could shed some light on this.
High input lag will happen if you set the monitor to 60Hz in Windows but if you're keeping the monitor at 360Hz but playing at 60 FPS with VRR the input lag should be a lot lower and the best way to play
@@wuyizhou2392exactly. On consoles you get hugh disadvantage with this monitor if you wanna do some little competitive (cod, destiny, fifa, rocket league)
Too bad QD OLEDS have terrible black levels in anything but a completely dark room. Even average lit rooms will make the blacks grey-er than WOLED. Defeating the purpose of both glossy & OLED. What makes it worse is they are using glossy plastic instead of actual glass, micro scratches galore even w/ micro fibers. Will wait for the new WOLED monitors which will have 100% blacks, better HDR brightness, better scratch resistance & less prone to burn in.
I would love it if you guys would take a look or mention the mag variant of this monitor, it's 50 bucks cheaper but uses the same panel, but loses a few ports I believe but the main concerning change is I've heard no firmware updates will be available, but if it's great out of the box it may be a good option for those wanting to save 50 bucks.
Despite its spectacular performance, you're gonna pay like $1,050 for this thing, and it looks like a Ferrari/Lamborghini caliber product by all means. Even if it's not used for extreme gaming, it would be better off for business use, especially in control rooms.
@@92F0XBody Nah, OLED will be long gone because of burning-bullshit "feature". Just like 3D TV's. But LG and Samsung will grab Your cash and spit on Your face once there will be "new technology". Just wait like...10 years xD
I heard that MSi was locking off firmware updating on anything but the highest model line, is that true? If that's true than that would be EXTREMELY SHADY and ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! I would not purchase or recommend the monitor to anybody.
Alienware better. This msi model has this led dot in the middle under the screen which lights too strong. It also distracts especially while playing in the dark room.
@@toasty00000 its exactly the same display from samsung. But msi made worse design with that white led which cant turn off this monitor is not acceptable😅

27 has too much density, 32 should be the sweet spot, or at least it would be with normal RGB pixel layouts. Speaking from experience as I used both a 27 1440p and a 27 4K LCD. When it comes to these weird OLED pixel layouts, 27 may just be the optimum density, but still 32 shouldnt be bad at all
@@AndyU96Nah. I daily a 24" 1440p primary display without scaling. Though I do have a 1080p 24" secondary if for some reason I want to move something to the monitor I call the magnifier. And for a pure video consumption device - yes I want more PPI.
Yes for Australian buyers the Alienware AW2725DF is $1359 vs the MSI MPG 271QRX at $1799. So the Alienware would seem to be far better value for Australian buyers if the performance is there.
At this rate we will actually have a kHz OLED monitor in a couple of years. So if you invest in LN2 today, you may be able to play counter strike with your Ryzen 7 14800X6D at 9GHz to get those sweet 1000fps.
The OLED pixels themselves can definitely switch that fast. The refresh rates we get are largely determined by the scaler's capabilities and cable bandwidth. We just need someone to make a scaler capable of handling 1080p 1000hz (or 1440p 1000hz with DP 2.1), and maybe LG or Samsung will make an OLED panel of that spec.
um sweatie, fake frame generation tech is there exactly because more than 200 discrete frames or 5ms steps in time if you will, provide no visual feedback that could not be effectively interpolated so thank's fake frame generation's of the FYUTURE ! now my CPU's powersavings kick in and pwn my videogame's even better i love it
24:43 your spec sheet is wrong, it says DP 2.1 and HDMI 1.4, it should be the other way around. So ironically, your video is misleading. From MSI: 1 x DisplayPort 1.4a 2 x HDMI 2.1
How the fuck is it already out of stock? I am so tired of absolutely everything going out of stock ASAP after release, it’s been like this for years now, you can’t get shit around release anymore
@monitorsunboxed can you provide an example image of what the Real Scene looks like? Seems like nobody wants to provide such content. Not even rtings anylonger, they used to however. So we know what kind of scene we can expect thse 889 nits in.
I can't even run games consistently well at 1080p because of badly optimized games, so a monitor like this is pointless for me. PC gaming is dead for me right now.
I pre-ordered this at the MSI store in Europe for 1000 euro. It comes with a 100 euro steam voucher which is essentially 100 euro off if you're a gamer, which most buyers of this monitor are.
While QD-OLED is really tempting I still won't opt for it because of the raised black issues. Come on Samsung, figure out how to use the polarizer layer on this.
Same here. If I didn't get my QD-OLED on sale under $900, I would have just waited. Why is making a good OLED screen so damn difficult for LG and Samsung!?
I have the c2 42 almost touching screens with the first gen aw3423dw. I keep the room pretty dark and the difference is still noticeable. When they are off and I turn on the shitty overhead light, wowsers. But I still LOVE BOTH. Depends on the game as which display I use. I almost bought the new dell 4k 240hz to replace the c2 until I seen it had the curve.
Thank you for this I was kinda waiiting for a side by side opinion in this manner. Do the blacks still raise in comparison say, when you have one table lamp behind or away from the screen in a corner of the room? @@Apollo-Computers
@thepadster123 I have the Samsung G8 OLED and I can say I haven't noticed it, even with a moving light in front of it. Granted, it's the only light in front of the display. This issue is one I haven't noticed, as well as the text clarity issue.
Are the input lag issues at 60hz and 120hz amended from the firmware update? I've ordered for this my PC but would like to know how it will perform if I opt to use it on the switch as welll
This is the new, in OLED space, balanced spec type of display in terms of res and Hz though, price too. Really pushes LCDs down further in terms of worth and price.
The text clarity issues are overblown. You could use this fir reading all day and youll never notice an issue. Also you dont have to run it at max SDR brightness when doing work to have a great dsktop experience when not gaming and it should never burn in.
Why instead to use calman you publicize and help DisplayCAL reach a wider audience ? And is possible to use TV screen for PC monitor ? I would like a fast refresh ISP TV but there is lacking review for lag and all problems this could generate, you would not like to integrate it in your discovery ? and have a review for different price points ? I would like it a lot, thanks
its not as easy for the lg or samsung to make a lot of diferent panel configurations, probable there will be no diferent resolutions for at least a year, i had a 28" 4k and it looks amazing but this time 1440p 26.5" is the choice.
@@pulluponme13 Probably, that far off cant really say. It took ages to get from 4k 55" oled tvs to something near monitors. The difficulty of raising PPI (more density, more heat)
Right so I do need to work on the monitor for 8 hours a day. Is there anything new coming out that is actually suitable for my use case or I should simply go with what launched in the last couple of years?
are there woleds with glossy screens. and if this one is glossy what exactly is the anti reflective surface treatment people refer it to be semi glossy this is so frustrating if it's matte at all I don't want it be specific
Right. I’d say burn in & productivity work like he constantly repeats himself about it and crazy cause ppl still want to use this for productivity work and he keeps saying not to!
Everyone hyped about all these new oleds, but be warned you might get some horrible eye strain from them. I’m returning mine because anytime I need to read text on screen it hurts like fuck.
So i dont need a display port cable to get max refreshrate? I just unboxed it and there was only ond HDMI cable in there and i was kinda mad because i was thinking its the worse cable compared to the displayport. So do i have to buy a displayport cable in order to get the best gaming experience or not?
My understanding is full refresh rate as long as you use a 2.1 cable with 2.1 capable device. Current Xbox/PS consoles are limited to 120hz even though they use 2.1 ports.
Hi Tim, I got a question for you if you dont mind. Do you know, or would it be possible for you to confirm, whether the presence of DSC is the root cause of brief (2-3 seconds) black screens when alt-tabbing from full-screen games? The reason for my suspicion is that I have the LG 27GN950 at 4K 144Hz plugged into my 3080 with a Paugge DP1.4 cable directly without any adapters, and ever since I switched to this monitor from a 144Hz 1440p monitor, I've been having brief black screens pretty much everytime I alt tab from any full screen game. When I switch from "DP 1.4 (DSC)" to "DP 1.4" in the OSD, the problem goes away completely as far as I can tell. I'd love to investigate myself but I'd need a bigger sample size
Use borderless fullscreen in the games menu to bypass the issue. Its 100% a nvidia DSC issue (confirmed on 2 different systems). Same issue not present on a 6700XT.
Great review as always. Please review the Koouri GN10 next, the price to performance is insane but want to know what real world testing would conclude.
16:28 I'm surprised the Alienware is #3. That's the one I have, and I used to have it set to sRGB mode with gamma set to its 2.2 mode, but blacks became very grey and overbrightened. This does not happen in its 2.0 and 2.4 gamma modes, so it's pretty weird.
Great monitor, unfortunately at night in absolute silence I heard strange noises from the fan, I don't accept this and went to 271qrx qd-oled, which does not have a fan. I could try an exchange, but the next piece was out of stock.
Feature set. The two monitors have the same panel, so should perform the same in HDR and color. However the E2 loses the KVM, high current USB-C charging, and 360HZ mode. Firmware updates are still available through displayport
as long as you guys don't improve your VRR testing and info given, these reviews will remain mostly useless to me 🫤 no word if VRR is flicker free, no word on VRR support over HDMI... in none of your reviews.
They always mention if there is vrr flicker. If they don't mention it, then it is absent. Hdmi irrelevant, as you shouldn't use this monitor with hdmi if you are serious about it.

At least the actual display size of these "27 inch" oled monitors is 1cm smaller than the usual. (26.5in vs 26.9in) Personally I do find normal 27inch just slightly too large for competitive gaming but 25 feels too small so this would make the increase a bit less jarring competively.
24:53 - The percentage increase in response time from .03/ms to .3/ms is +900%, not +10%. | .03 * 1.1 (10% increase) is only .033. So, the performance is 9x slower than claimed, or (as you're presenting the information) -900%, a huge deal and possible grounds for a class-action lawsuit, frankly. I think you wanted 10x (or 1,000%, as each x = 100%, eg: 2x = 200%) which is the difference if you do the math without a + or - to account for the first 100%. Maybe someone better at math than me can give a better explanation, or correct me if I'm mistaken.
Maybe in the US its a cheap price, but being a fellow Aussie you'd know that the price here is ridiculous. The $799 USD price should equate to about $1224 AUD + 10% GST, so this monitor should sell for about $1400 AUD and thats giving it a bit extra. Not the $1799 AUD price we have at the moment. Now I know USD prices don't directly equate to AUD, but they are used as a guide for what prices should be like here. Especially since the Alienware equivalent which uses the same panel only goes for $1359 AUD and its actually MORE EXPENSIVE in the US than this monitor. I wouldn't exactly call MSI a premium brand or their build quality the best either, as I used to own their older MPG321QD monitor and had to take it back to MSI's head office here in Sydney for repair after one of the USB ports broke on me. Luckily it was local to me and I could save on shipping by dropping off and picking it up myself.
Proper glossy QD-OLED monitors with polarizers when? I mean, $800 is better than over $1000, when I would just wait for the proper glossy polarizer screens, but still, not good for most gamers.
Why was Inputlag left out at 60hz aswell as 120hz? Rtings tested this panel and it hits 25+ ms at 60hz and 15+ at 120hz. Making it not ideal if you play online shooters with fluctuating FPS with VRR.
Hi, i found out that Philips are making 4k 27" OLED RGB monitor, it's only 60hz tho, but still it might be interesting. would u be interested make video about it? its named 27e1n8900.
I've got that one, and let me tell you non of the reviews, which have all been amazing for this monitor, do the in person experience justice. I suspect this will hold true for all these 3rd gen QDOLEDs though since they're all going to perform very similarly.
Those new 2nd gen OLED monitors are great and all, but I just can't buy them! I live in Austria and as far as I know there isn't a single 360hz on the market which you can buy here lol
Peak brightness 🔆 is so bad for these new Oled monitors I've been using Oleds and qd Oleds tvs but I think is time to switch to Mini Led tvs now days led tvs offer deep blacks plus high brightness without crushing blacks and no Burn-In. So this new trend for Oled monitors is not making it for me especially because these oled panels most likely will crush blacks. Yes oled pitch blacks look cool but we're not watching pitch black content when playing video games or watching content.. I wonder what company will come out with a Mini Led Monitor with high contrast radio. Look at the Hisense U8K or the TCL QM8 those tvs are not oled but can display pitch blacks like oleds but with higher brightness. I wish there was a monitor with the image quality and contrast of those tvs.
Always scare monger the burn in issue. But so far it hasn't reached the news. Even the LG Oleds that hit the markets years back. C1, C2 etc. Seems to be a nice monitor. But that price is definitely way up there.
