2 years ago if I was told that 365s will work the E to G line I would've laughed and said "yeah right"! The classic networker race car style traction motors will never be heard in Queen Street, but here we are. I guess the introduction of 73s to the Caledonian Sleeper was similar. Personally, I think they suit the route really well and even though they are a stop-gap for the 385s, I think ScotRail should consider keeping them. One thing I have heard is that they could be shortened down the 3 cars and used around Glasgow, but we'll see.
I don't understand peoples attraction to the looks of these trains, and I certainly wouldn't call them 'beautiful', however the traction motor sound is without a doubt one of my favourite in the entire current ScotRail fleet and of all trains.
Personally I think they look great definitely strange seeing them in Scotland tho and I agree the motor sounds fantastic love that sound they make when departing a station. Thanks for your comment ☺️
