Well, before the fun starts 66102 heads north past the Gardens with 4H47 from Mossend to Inverness still being diverted via Aberdeen. Then after a word in the drivers ear on the station and because the 37 has not moved in a fortnight or so therefore being damp and cold, my namesake, 37425 powers north to Kittybrewster in extraordinary style and then seen again trundling towards Waterloo Quay.
After arriving at the Quay, the shunting starts with the 37 taking power underneath the bridge while shifting 4 ICAs. Then, after the driver shouts up saying the engine is knackered... but not that politely ;-) with traction motor faults - he feathers the throttle as the loco struggles to take power in notch 3 and 4 (And slipping a few times!!) while hauling 12 ICAs out of the siding. We are then finished here after a couple more shunt manoeuvres.
Now moving upto Roslin Terrace, the driver gives it the beans while hauling 6 ICAs up the hill with the 2 guys up front tooting each horn at the same time! Then its upto Kittybrewster loop, after running round, the loco then reverses the load out onto the mainline before heading towards Aberdeen station.
Now back down to Waterloo where the 37 rounds the curve before it then heading back up the hill at Roslin Terrace with another load of 6 ICAs with plenty of thrash like the last clip from here! And to finish the day off, it then heads into the station in some shadowed sun through Union Terrace Gardens.
The first time I have ever seen a 37 on the Waterloo branch and probably the last time as she will be leaving for Mossend in the near future when Snowplough season ends and it looks like DB will be binning them unfortunatly.
Shame about the wind, still try and enjoy though...
