Hello Mubashir Saab - Yes indeed, the 9.3×62 was one of the very first medium bore, smokeless rifle cartridges designed for use in a bolt-action rifle. The cartridge took the hunting world by storm and was incredibly popular among German settlers in Africa at the beginning of the 20th Century. The hunting and shooting worlds changed forever in 1905 with the introduction of the 9.3x62mm Mauser cartridge. Designed by Otto Bock, the cartridge incorporated two major advances in firearm technology in the early 20th Century: the introduction smokeless powder and the Mauser 98 rifle. The 9.3x62mm Mauser uses a .366″ bullet though, which is a little smaller than the .375″ bullets used by the .375 H&H. Regarding the price of weapon - It is extremely difficult to give a ball park number in terms of price as it is dependent of on so many variables - the maker, the condition, the barrel, the stock, the action. I know most of the bigger Bombay Gunsmiths have then in stock to sell. I personally saw a Holland and Holland bolt action with a decent scope recently in Bombay which was in good condition and was for sale.

The Model 70 is very close to my heart. Infact the first weapon i shot out of a collection of 35 recently when I was in the US was the Winchester Model 70 in .270 calibre. Sako is like a work horse - i think they are now owned by Beretta

This cartridge was also very very popular in Bhopal and a lot of specially made 30 Supers were imported before the 50'S. Designed by the British firm Holland & Holland, the .300 H&H magnum was introduced in 1925, based on the .375 H&H magnum case necked down to .30 caliber. The belted case was first introduced by Holland & Holland on the .400 and .375 NE cartridges in 1904 followed by the famous .375 H&H magnum in 1912 with the .300 H&H arriving 13 years later. With hundreds of man hours spent engraving and finishing rifles, only the most affluent of hunters could afford an H&H rifle. The .300 H&H was a proprietary cartridge patented by Holland and Holland, meaning that no other manufacturer could build rifles or ammunition for the .300 without the firm’s consent. For these reasons, the .300 H&H initially received little attention outside of Britain’s upper class. During the later 1920’s, Holland & Holland released the patent rights to the .375 and .300 cartridges, allowing Griffin & Howe, along with other manufacturers, to build rifles and ammunition in these calibers. Still, for nearly a decade the .300 H&H went mostly unnoticed by the general shooting public. But in 1935, American shooter Ben Comfort used a Griffin & Howe .300 H&H Magnum built on an M1917 action to win the 1000 yard Wimbledon cup. In 1937, Winchester offered the Model 70 bolt action in both .300 and .375 H&H Magnum chamberings. This was the first major manufacturer to offer these cartridges to the general public at affordable prices. In support of this, the Western cartridge company offered a variety of loadings for the .300 H&H which eventually, thanks to advances in powder design, were some 200fps faster than original loadings. watch

The price of the round historically has been slightly on the high side - I think it would range from Rs. 500 - Rs. 700 per round. Thanks for watching Sir - I personally dont personally know of anyone who owns a .300 savage. A little bit of history about the cartridge - it was introduced by Savage Arms in the early 1900's. In around 1920, Savage changed the name to the Model 99 and introduced the .300 Savage, a cartridge that at the time matched the ballistics of the .30-06. With these advanced cartridges the Savage Model 99 rifle became the thinking man’s deer rifle. If I find one - I would love to review one with the level action. Please do continue to watch and share

My family once had 500 Caliber H&H which was used extensively in hunting elephants and wild boars. If I come to Bhopal will try to catch up. Thank you for watching and Salaam to you too Shahid Bhai - Abhi scope ki availability bahut limited hai due to lockdown. Although dealers do have some in stock. In terms of a scope for a 30.06 - there is no one formula that fits all. The choice of a scope depends on the use i.e. what is the purpose and obviously the amount of money you would like to spend "your budget". Some that I would recommend are Night Force NXS 5.5-22X56, Swarovski Optik Z5 3.5-18X44 P (BT) L, ZEISS 2-8x42 Conquest Duralyt Riflescope (Dark Gray) or Vortex Optics Viper PST Gen II 5-25X50 FFP. Again all depends on the use - besides the Vortex which is in the $ 1000 range, the others are expensive scopes. There are a lot of other scopes in the Rs. 10,000 - Rs. 30,000 range but the magnification will be limited. Hope i answered your question. Please do continue to watch and share.

When it comes to the price of a weapon - there are too many factors involved, starting with the condition of the gun, the maker, the provenance, whether its been reblued, the stock etc etc. So the same calibre may range from Rs. 2.5 - 15 lacs depending on the factors above. A double barrel of the same calibre may fetch close to Rs. 30 lacs. So there is no one formula that fits all. I hope i did not manage to confuse you.

Coming to if you happen to find this rifle by chance - It is extremely difficult to give a ball park number in terms of price as it is dependent of on so many variables - the maker, the condition, the barrel, the stock, the action. I know most of the bigger Bombay Gunsmiths have then in stock to sell. I personally saw a Holland and Holland bolt action with a decent scope recently in Bombay which was in good condition and was for sale.

@@BhopaliTales Thank you Sir for your generous and valuable sugession. I will try to find one by contacting the dealers, my friend's father have this same rifle without scope.. I have fired two rounds and it was a great feeling ..must say a lot more thunderous than IOF 30-06.

I know most of the bigger Bombay Gunsmiths have then in stock to sell. If you would like a collectors - then Purdey, Holland and Holland, Westley Richards, Boss, Churchills are the ones to get. For everyday use any side by side is good. @@rsbhangu6911 Hahahahahahaha I misunderstood - so many viewers have named their respective guns now. So there is Kadak Bijli, Jalaali Peer, Naagraaj, Jeev Pran, Jamm Dakaar, Kaal Thaap and so on - its the love for the firearm that brings out the names. On a lighter note, I think you should name yours Angelina Jolie or Katrina Kaif.
