@@pickaside even real wolves fans or Minnesota sports fans like myself always have a little doubt about our teams in the playoffs. We're used to our teams underperforming. But this wolves team is breaking the Minnesota norm.
@@Tony12188 I feel that way about the jets lol. But it’s cool to know that it’s changed with the wolves. Homegrown superstar and you’ve built around him perfectly. This team will be so fun to watch for years to come
Thank you guys for these 3 & half hour pods my day goes by so quickly with them it really helps get me through the day thank you guys for the hard work and dedication. Because of this podcast and undisputed I became an NBA fan last year. Also Jokic fadeaway 3 over AD really got me into it.
Mr. Moran you’re 1000% spot on with the svr 07 soundtrack being amazing. It got me hype before every match I played. I have most the soundtrack on my spotify workout playlist. Plus the GM mode was 🔥 in 07. Great memories
As an Oklahoman we def fuck with Collison more, KD would fet booed for at least half a year if he came back P.S. Collison and Westbrook are the only players that we give a standing ovation for anytime they step on the floor
Nothing but love Joel as a Minnesotan and big Wolves fan. But we can’t bring up reg season first game was a road back-back after Gobert and Draymond incident, 2nd game no KAT, last game desperate suns trying to avoid play in and wolves didn’t want to reveal too much for suns for rd 1, coach revealed it in interview. All love to you boys!
As a Wolves fan, I feel that Ant has evolved into not just a competent playmaker but an effective one. Just this series he probably had 4 or 5 hockey assists that were not counted towards his stats that would not have been possible without his reads.
Exactly. I don't know what happend where Ants IQ has elevated in the playoffs. Maybe it's focus or as they call it some have the "it" factor. The maturity level has been good. Hopefully he csn keep it up with the big dogs in Denver.
If we agree Mcdaniels, Ant & NAW will most likely neutralize Murray then that means the nuggets will have to rely on Jokic to pick the #1 defense apart for an entire series. Then on top of that Denver doesn’t match up well with the wolves offense, I don’t see Denver winning.
Joel you def passed the test haha. I don't know why they're giving you that hard of a time - it's usually you defending the Wolves and the other three clowning us lol. Even as a Wolves fan, I chose the Suns too. Ant leveled up as a playmaker way faster than I expected. The fact that he can manipulate the defense and take control just 1 week after struggling with that all season is crazy.
Towns can score easier than ant. Just throw Jamal Murray mpj or KCP on him and he’ll drop 32 on 65% shooting. Ant knows how good towns is. Mentality over skill.
great wolves take, faded on vikings. we still have 3 picks, plus expected two 3rd comp picks. trade down in first, and bam you have a full draft again, plus 80-100M in cap space for FA
I agree with everything said in the wolves vs suns segment except for one Joel for tryna deflect it on the other guys and two anthony edwards being the clear best player. Rudy had one of the best defensive series we’ve ever seen.
I know yall remember my comment praying the wolves win so yall don’t look dumb for believing in us… we did it boys thanks for believing in us 😂😭🖤never thought id see the day but Joel rly hurt us with that one we forgive you tho bro you’ve been solid all along 😭
@@Shortballa11 running the point guard full time? No it’s never happened. He’s had the ball yea but the way he approached the game was different than a point guards mentality
@@pickaside so who was the full time point guard before Rubio on 2019 and before. Yes Dbooks position said Sg bt the reason he was averaging 7 assists again was because he was the full time point guard, not Tyler Johnson lol
@@Shortballa11 he had the ball all the time that’s true but it’s a different dynamic when you are the only scorer on your team and you don’t have to worry about getting anybody shots With KD and Beal he naturally had to be less aggressive
NE fan here and I think we did good could done better but getting baker and maye is what made me happy. I never been this excited to watch this team play even with Brady maybe bc like I’m finally going to see it develop instead of being born into in bc I’m 23 lmao. Love the show y’all do your shit
I came here for a Jayson Tatum debate but that Steph Curry debate is something else. I don’t know what Warriors basketball team Drew is watching to think that the 2022 team was an all timer. It really wasn’t that great. Steph just played out his mind and the second best player was Andrew Wiggins. Not to mention Drew finds it easy to see Tatum as a number one on a championship winning team, but Curry who has done that twice, “maybe idk perhaps” like wtf. Who does he think he is, Tony Romo in the booth????
The wolves did what you are saying joel with that suns series yes there bench isnt deep but the wolves made booker and beal a nonfactor majority of that series so the blue print is there denver absolutely will need Murray from a wolves fan I got alot of love for denver. I just can't wait for this series It's gonna be electric
As an OKC fan since 2012, Nick Collison is by far more respected and appreciated than him. KD will never gain my respect after what he done. He will forever be a 🐍 in my eyes. If they do retire his jersey, I’ll be fucking pissed off
Wolves in 6 This wolves team is built different. It has champion vibes. Don't make the mistake of picking the Nuggets. Repeating a championship is extremely hard.
One thing I've learned from watching the pod for years is that if everybody at the table disagrees with Drew, then Drew needs to realize he's wrong. He just be saying shit.
I think a way the wolves can get an advantage on offense is getting jokic to guard him. He can shoot and drive on him. Also he can get him into foul trouble. Obviously it goes both ways. Kats always been able to muck up the games with jokic.
I’m a Celtics fan and I agree with Joel that Ant is a better player than Tatum and the reason why I say that is because while Tatum is a really good player. I still think he’s to inconsistent in the playoffs if we’re keeping it a 100 and he still struggles with shit that Ant is really good at like finishing at the rim through contact, hitting midrange shots consistently, hitting three point shots consistently, finding the open man on offense, locking down on defense every possession, etc... So I just think the fact that Ant’s game is already more complete at 22 years old and he has less weaknesses in his game that makes him a better player in my opinion. Also on some real shit he’s probably the only player in the league that has like 6-7 highlight plays a game and few of those are on defense like those highlight blocks he had in the 4th quarter against D-Book
I can see why yall say ant better than ja but me personally id say ja. Its very close tho we just havent seen ja much this past season so we gotta wait n see
I feel like there was a bit too much hate for the Panthers. They swapped a 5th for a 6th to move up and grab Legette. I don't think it was because they thought the Bills would take him, but because they now get the 5th year option on a WR who are becoming increasingly expensive. They also have a horrible run game, and traded back with the Rams to grab Brooks who the Rams gave up an extra second next year and recouped their 5th. Honestly, not a fan of that Rams trade at all either I think there were a lot of DT's in that range they could have sat and gone with that I honestly think were better than Fiske too, but a future second regardless is STEEP.
I feel like a lot of ppl forget that the 2022 Celtics team was 500 halfway through the season. There’s a lot of revisionism on how good that team actually was and the expectations Rookie coach , “washed Hortford” They beat Kd and kyrie , the defending champs and the no 1 seed heat. The way ppl talk , you’d think they were title favourites who failed in the finals
I’m curious on you guys opinion on music. I’ve always seen music like food in the sense 1 genre isn’t better than another it’s just a matter of taste like u guys like rap but don’t really talk about rock that much do you not like rock or just prefer rap more.
@@pickaside that would be awesome would love your take on it lol this imo was one of you guys best pods it went from a heated would you rather debate with you and Riv to right into a heated debate between Riv and Drew.
Playmaking is more important in a guard. Dude on the right NO ITS NOT DONT DO THAT!!! Did this bum not watch the suns get swept??? They badly needed playmaking lmao.
"I wouldn't even pick Michael Jordan over Anthony Edwards" I'm crying man you gotta put that up there in nba twitter hof... Also Riv a real one man cause y'all really forgetting who 12 is again...Y'all really do gotta hesitate about that wyr tf lmao...
don't be sorry. I keep hearing ppl say he is 6'11 and you can watch the game and tell this man is not 6'11. Just look at him when stands next to KD or Jokic next series. 6'11 is crazy
The fact that joel brought in Steph into this argument made 0 sense. Your excuses for Tatum being a borderline superstar was wishy washy and in my honest opinion he’s holding Tatum at an extremely higher regard than other players due to the fact that his organization surrounded him with talent? That 2022 season the boston celtics was a .500 before their late surge that team overachieved in every aspect. Nobody believed that team was beating the nets bucks nor heat. But you put players like jalen brunson, kevin durant (who tatum has outplayed and almost every one of their match ups for the past couple years), joel embid (tatum has out played in the playoffs every year), SGA who hasnt proved nun over tatum. You prolly wont read this nor respond but brother your biased when it comes to Tatum and its extremely obvious. He has to win a chip to show he is a top 10 player in the league but SGA Brunson and etc just cant have a great season and be cemented? Come on brother
And for yall the keep saying boston was favorited against an experienced proven championship caliber team in the golden state warriors when that boston team was once again .500 before the allstar break, and on top of that jayson tatum being 24 competing at that high of level against, as you say top 10 players (steph, giannis, kd) and out playing them that year doesnt put him at top 10. LOL. But brunson sga joel embid are certified locks. Come one brother😂😂😂
It’s not wishy washy it’s pretty definitive. A superstar is a player that can be the best player on championship team. Tatum has not proven that yet. Steph Curry has proved it. The Warriors surrounded Steph with talent he rewarded them with 2 MVPs and a championship before KD got there. So no way would I put Tatum in Curry’s tier. To your point about the Celtics surrounding him with talent - it’s not a knock on him but you Celtics / Tatum’s fans love to use team success to prop up Tatum when he’s been in a better situation than every young player. Of course you’re gonna have more team success if your team is better Would Tatum have been able to lead a starting lineup of Brunson (pre breakout), DFS, Bullock, and Dwight Powell to the WCF? I find it hard to believe. This season Brunson has been as good if not better than Tatum. That’s a fact. Idk what you mentioning the 2022 Celtics does because it’s not an example of Tatum uplifting a ‘bad’ team. That team was talented. They were under achieving. It’s not a Tatum carry job like Jokic with the 21 or 22 Nuggets. Thats an example of uplifting a bad team. Tatum is a borderline top 10 player. For him to take that next leap he needs to win a championship because he has the roster to do so and he is the guy that’s supposed to be the ceiling raiser.. because that’s what a superstar is
First off I respect your opinion an honestly I appreciate your response and even though I am a celtics fan I can also agree that he has to show up more in certain aspects of the game especially when a game is getting close and he has to takeover which I believe will come. But I also feel as though because of him not being put in that situation we are holding him to a higher regard bc he never had to struggle like other stars which isn’t fair even lebron stated that. We cant say jalen brunson isnt the bridge but tatum is when he has been doing it longer and proven it multiple times. Does he fall short yes but at the same time he has been doing this since he was a rookie avg 17-4-2 in the playoffs against bron wit no kyrie and no gordon hayward
As well i do want to admit I wouldnt put him in that tier 1 superstar list. But he’s not the bridge no more he is that tier 2 superstar. The same way yall say that ant took that number 1 sg from donovan mitchell and book after demolishing book in the playoffs. How has tatum not risen ova current KD after doing the same thing to him that 2022 year? And lets not say bc of his overall team success bc Ant is in that same position with a DPOY in Rudy an allstar in KAT a potential dpoy in mcdaniels, a 6th man of the year in NAZ, and a experienced vet in conley. at the end of the day we always gonna agree to disagree and I feel like a lot of your points are valid but I also feel as though you cant judge and use him as a bridge bc he has already had that success. at some point he has to be cemented as that top 10 player. And I believe he’s between that 7-10 range. And in regard to your statement of would he have been able to lead that team personally I dont have him over luka so I will say no. But honestly didnt think you would reply so im glad I actually got to engage in this debate myself so you def earned a new subscriber on all platforms‼️ Hopefully I get your response to my closing argument and i will def be here for the next one
Btw 25-10-5 in the bubble on 43.4 fg% and 37.3% 3pt Even though they lost he avg 27-10-5 in last years playoffs should they have lost to the heat FUCK NO but i’ll leave it at that
