Always there are the those who have a bad word or two say why not just say good on ya. It's not all about brand loyalty it's what you want to do. Hell hot rodders have been using chev engines and holden giys using ford parts for yrs. Here you have a nissan without a 4.2 and that cummins may outlive the 4.2. Good on ya for an outside the box thought and you're getting bigger numbers and quite possibly better reliability.
Jason Daley yup, it’s incredibly simple and over engineered for heavy duty use. A stock engine is 215hp 450ft-lbs (don’t know the translation for power) it’s easy to double or triple those numbers and it’s still extremely reliable. My dad had a ‘97 12v that was pretty pumped up for many years. Never dynoed it but the stock turbo would spool 45psi all day. Damn thing just had a shush box transmission. The guy that bought it is still driving it. Probably 300-400 thousand miles on it now. I always say that 12v was faster than my current 6.7 Cummins with 375hp 800tq or even my dad’s current with 385hp 900tq. It didn’t pull the same though. The transmissions and gearing in the new truck is loads better. I can pull a 19000lb trailer at 75mph up the Sierra Nevada mountains with gears and pedal to spare. The old slushbox trans in the ‘97 can’t compete. It would pull a house if needed but was more of a raw beast of and engine by comparison. A lot of fun to drive, for sure.
Never said it was, but its illegal to have fun well as the cops like to say "loseing contorl" witch in this video with there number plates can be used as evidence for fun killing fines
Takes a special kind of stupid to spell Queensland wrong and to see his tyres haven't been let down at all. Queensland sand is pretty fucking soft too.
bro what are you doing? 6BT and empty tray struggling to climb a slightly steep sand hill? even if you have 2 6bts and 8 turbos and 12 snorkels you're not climbing that until you let your tyres down.
Regan and Jared both have Series 1 and both required clearancing for them to fit. They were purchased from Danscustomcarlights. Regan has since gone to the Aurora’s because they are 100x better in every way.
Did some Research. The Cummins 5.9 td Engine is the foundation of TATA Heavy Duty 25t-32t trucks. Between 150hp and 215hp. They last nearly 1000000ks with alot of Abuse even when grossly overloaded in hot Arid conditions. This Engine is Hailed as (one of) the Best i6 Diesel Engine over 4.0l. It totally owns and Dominates the light duty nissan Ute...to the point that it should be permanently called the Nissan Cummins or vice versa..he he he...😎
@@Tedkelvin Nissan has a partnership with Cummins. The isv 5.0 is found in the titan xd in north America the cummins r2.8 which is sold as a diesel repower kit by cummins international was actually a product of r&d between nissan, cummins and a few others, the engine was slated for shipment and to be packaged in the frontier compact truck, xterra and pathfinder suv lines. But, it never made it into the trucks in full production. Had it done so i feel the xterra would still be manufactured and sold in the North American market..
Great trucks but tearing up the trail is not good. Thrash it as much as you want on the wet sand where the tidal movement will fix your tracks but dont destroy the tracks that enter and exit the beach.
Hi! How about the noise level inside the cabin? Did you compared it before and after? Is that right Cummins are ok for daily work trucking but can be irritating of too noisy for long time overlanding?
P-pump cummins is top dog. Easy power upgrades and high torque potential. The p-pump is reliable and easy to enhance. The engine is very easy.to get 300-400hp from and nearly triple that in torque. They'll pull a house down with enough grip
@@cjnilans a passenger car high tech DOHC CRD 3.0 V6 TDI Vs an IRON Age Pushrod 6.0 inline 6 heavy Duty Truck motor with a Mechanical Inline Pump (another small Engine). Comparison is A Farce to say the least. At the Same power level with the VW say 300hp the Cummins Has as much torque as a 12 wheeler 8x4 Dump truck, while the Amarok is leaning on the VDJ 200series.
Regan sent the Nissan 5 speed for a couple thousand km until he converted the internals into coco pops. She runs a built 4L80e now with plenty of fruity supporting mods.
