"self care is community care" -Eli Rallo really resonated with me as someone who struggles feeling guilty at times for self care, when in reality, it benefits everyone when you take care of yourself. you cannot give if you don't allow yourself to recieve

sooo true about the therapist analogy, my current therapists are very honest about that using the skills they give you will not cure you or fix you immediately, and might only help just a little bit or not at all, but the point is to try and see what happens. and honestly thats helped me a lot even with them saying that because i feel like it gives me realistic expectations and I don't feel disappointment when things don't work.

hey uhh i just want to say thanks because this video helped send a text about clarification. to sarah's point, i have a ton of emotional trauma with abandonment, so when i don't hear from people i immediately go to "they hate me and don't want to hear from me" so the idea of sending follow up texts gives me anxiety. and it's this nasty downward spiral. but like, i'm allowed to ask for clarification while also knowing i need to work on myself. idk i'm like crying right now. also, eli is so well-spoken at 25. i wish i knew what you know when i was 25. thank you all.

About calling audio books "reading" or "listening" - I get where Eli is coming from, but holding other people to that would require them to disclose whether or not they have a disability so that we can judge whether it's "valid" for them to say they read a book. Some people have undiagnosed learning disabilities and just know that it's easier for them to comprehend when they listen. When you have to put so many disclaimers on something to avoid possibly hurting/invalidating disabled people, it's best to just let people say what they want. Personally, I have ADHD but I am able to visually read a book, though it can be easier for me to understand/not get distracted when I listen. I've consumed many books through both methods, and if I don't have a physical copy of a book, I often forget if I even visually read it or listened to it. So, yeah, I just say I read it 😅 Eli was a fantastic guest though!!! Just wanted to try to explain that from my point of view 🩷

It's definitely wrong to generalise like that about men with dogs being caring. It can be every bit as likely that they love their dog because it worships and idolises them unconditionally and they probably want that in a woman too - it cuts both ways, maybe don't make that one a rule.

On the topic of doing things thinking more about how other people perceive you. I have a question to anyone who can relate. So i am autistic (not diagnosed just very obvious to me now) and i think i don't know how other people perceive me. It adds to my discomfort of being perceived and when doing anything i cannot think of what would they think of me if i do this. it's not like i don't care what they think it's like i don't know at all what they think of me when they look at me. I have been seeing some ND people talk about being perceived and how it is emotionally draining etc but i feel like for me it is a bit different. Like can people gauge or imagine how someone perceives them? Like for the life of me i cannot imagine how i look in my friend's eyes let alone a stranger. and like okay my friend had told me i am cool and she loves to talk to me etc so i have her word... but like i don't know what i look like as a person walking down the street. I don't know if this makes sense at all. but just answer me this if you can, do you know how people around you see you?

Eli was a great guest ! Great convo overall. Going to have to disagree slightly with the love is blind reference - yes having disposable plastic isn't great, but Stacy was clearly approaching it from a more classist perspective. I also disagree that Izzy is a nice guy, he genuinely scared me at certain points throughout the show lmao... Johnie and Aaliyah were the best off the season
