I rem when I got mine my friend's thought I was crazy and told me it wouldn't be good for home defense, I gave in and bought a real pistol but ima use this first, granted they don't brandish a firearm at me.
@@Kon_man If you spend some weeks perfecting your aim with this thing, and have 5 rubber balls and 1 pepper ball - you WILL fuck someone up for sure. I cant imagine taking one of these to the face.
@@christianhviid2167 None of the projectiles he has on the table are made out of rubber. The black grimburg juls are made out of copper nylon composite very solid and hard, there are companies that make hard rubber balls that look like grimburgs. The red and white balls are made out of hard nylon pcv and have a steel ballbearing inside of them, well the white balls do, not sure if the red balls have steel ballbearings inside, and are both from the company Riotballs, thats were Canada Riotballs buys them from, I think Canada Riotballs went out of business also. You can shoot these projectiles through metal, if the gun has been modified for more power, hard rubber balls are not hard enough to go through metal. Some Less Lethal guns do have enough power to kill someone if need be, I know the rifle I just purchased from Sterling Self Defense will, and yes it is very expensive.

For self defense aim center mass and keep firing. Unless you live in a very cold region most people are wearing tons of layers. You'll pepper them up good enough they'll be teying to get away from you. I keep mine loaded with 3 pepper rounds first in the mag followed by steel rounds. Vim por um comentário num vídeo do batata, nos testes em materiais rígidos parece uma maravilha, mas em tecido humano não causa o mesmo estrago. Mas cara, tem que ter coragem pra fazer esses teste kkkkk lembro de quando jogava paintball e levava um tiro de perto em alguma área mais sensível do corpo já era um pouco dolorido, mas isso aí é outro nível. Sobre defesa contra individuos desarmados acredito que se colocar uma munição de pimenta (que é ilegal no Brasil) junto com aa de impacto a chance de incapacitar o alvo deve aumentar.
Acho que a proposta dessa arma não é exatamente para matar a pessoa. Por isso é considerada “não letal”. É óbvio que não dá pra comparar a uma arma de fogo. Porém, eu achei muito bom o poder que ela tem se comparados a outras de co2 que temos. Com certeza ela para um indivíduo com a dor. Esse cara aí estava esperando o tiro com 2 roupas. Imagino o vagabundo que não espera. Se acertar na cabeça ou em parte sensíveis do corpo, na hora da agonia ele não vai distiguir se é de fogo ou não. Ele vai fugir com certeza. E em uma eventual troca de tiros realmente não tem como usar ela mesmo.

Para quem mora na cidade e nao tem "inimigos declarados" pode ser uma boa, melhor do que nao ter nada. E se por um acaso vc tiver algum problema por ter usado ela em alguma "vitima da sociedade", o fato de ser de baixa letalidade deve facilitar na frente do delega e do juizão.

Your commitment to this is unmatched. Thank you for this video. The long and short seems all LL guns with OC might be ok, but for real take down you need about 50 joules in these type of guns. With that said, I am not confident that the Grimburg Galve is even a good choice
correct 40 js is good if you have a lot of ammo but yes 50-60 is the sweet spot i think that will break ribs easy and i dont think a gavel will do the job either, i dont feel safe with one, co2 pistols are to weak i have some new compact builds 55 joules in pistol form hpa
Me personally, I think the 68, cal would be more effective with face shouts, and rib shouts with at least 35 joules or better. Anything lower than that is risky. It's good you put this video out so the so-called experts can see that 11, 12, 15, 18, 20, 25, 28, 30 joules is not enough especially if you are being attacked by a person on drugs or someone that's strong by nature. If you ask me 65, 70 joules is about the right force to stop an attacker and make him retreat.
ya man 40 to 60 is perfect, keep in mine i had a shit load of clothing on dressed for canada winter, if i had of took those in a tshirt it would have fractured my rib quite easily, i had a sweater and a winter coat and tshirt on so that took a lot of the impact, 70 joules can start to be lethal especially in 50 cal with steel bearings, 63 goes clean through 1 inch of plywood like butter in 50 cal
I have been thinking the same! I think a face shot is more guaranteed to stop an aggressive male. I recently mentioned that in a post, nobody ever mentions a face shot. You are the first. I don't think a human no matter how big and strong, could take a shot to the mouth or eye! I don't think a person high enough to withstand a face shot could even move. A shot right in the old Johnson would really hurt too! But seriously, it is still better than nothing though. I just ordered the Byrna LE model.
@@MultiSkyman1 All I have to say is when your life it at stack, you need a weapon that's going to be effective and get the job done. I just recently (yesterday), let a friend shoot me with a modified version of the Umarex HDR-T4E 50, here in the United States. I admit, I was impressed but at the same time 3 devastater round with 35, joules of power to the body didn't stop with my jacket on, and I was moving towards my friend. It hurt, it pierced the jacket, it left bruises me, and the impact had a little kick but the force wasn't enough to make me quit. But on the other hand It might I think it would work and be more effective with face shouts. Based on my experience 35 joules of power should be the minimum power range, no lower in order to achieve success.
ya this was my girls jacket mine is an arctic jacket 3x as thick, i used this again just to keep the padding the same, how ever getting hit in just a t-shirt would be worse, if i had to id go for the face if the body didnt work at 40 js now i gotta buy Steph a new jacket lol
@@UmarexLessLethalHomeDefense Lol it didn't look as if the jacket got messed up. Then again, 40 joules to the face must be pretty discouraging for anyone, even if only hit once. A few seconds of lost bearings and extreme pain guaranteed.
@@MihaiLeonardoNiculescu ya you can see in the video a white hole in the back, both went through the first layer, i posted pics in the groups, but i think a face shot would do dome serious damage, broken teeth, fractured jaw or orbital bone and maby cheek bone, or even an eye, as well as throat, so a lot of damage can be done

Well done for taking one for the team kudos 👏 I know one thing...If I lived in the states I'd be packing a minigun to protect my family.These guns are certainly no good for home defense,and should never be used for that purpose. They should only be used for training purposes...police security ect...Once again well done.
ya it was when i first got hit man what a shock affect i was paralyzed for like 5 seconds hahaha but after that there no real pain unless some one touches the spot hard enough, i slept like a baby last 2 nights :) would not want to have taken a follow up shot or more wow!
That's a good power level for self defense purposes and about where I keep my FSCs and VKS. Looks plenty painful. You wouldn't want to get hit in a finger or eye or neck or vulnerable spots like that. Could lose a whole finger or break a rib or have penetration at levels not much higher than that, in my layman's opinion. I think the important point is that many scenarios where you might need to use it, the threats tend to wear heavy layers of clothing .. and yeah, might be hard to dissuade for intoxication reasons. There are reasons to use much higher power, I agree.
@umarext4elesslethalhomedef872 Good video of scientific data. But I am concerned about the misfire of the gun. I have a similar type of these and it seems less reliable than a firearm. One of the selling points for me was I was assuming these type of platforms would have more reliability than firearms, but the real world performance seems somewhat lame. I am concerned why the first shot did not fire. The last thing you need in a combat situation is your first shot not to fire and then fiddling with the gun.

Holy cow that's only 38 jules of power and already that much damage! There's kits online that have 80+ jules! Can't imagine what the damage with those look like!

The only airgun I've yet seen that I'd even begin to consider risking my own safety to, and never my family if I could help it ideally, but the EDgun Leshiy 2 is a beast. But hey, it better be for the ridiculous price tag that you could buy several ARs/AKs, shotguns and pistols with. But for that hefty price you get something that I wouldn't stand in front of for any amount of money. Saw that thing lobotomize a ballistics dummy at 20 yards. 😂

Honestly, if you need something to protect who you love but cant own a real gun, you should look into black powder firearms. You can get a decently concealable black powder revolver and it would be closer to a real gun, would penetrate, and would be more effective. You also dont need any background checks to by black powder firearms. Unless that’s also prohibited where you’re located.
The legal limit for a bullet fired at point blank range to pierce flesh and muscles "not bones" and tap into an internal organ is 80 Joules. The Less then Lethal bullets come out with an energy of 160 Joules...We are quickly slowed down by the turbulence created by the projectile, in any case never fired closer than three meters away.

Hey. First, I want to thank u for taking this hit for less lethal proof of concept. Second, I just want to say something in regards to "stopping power". In many police shootings and civilian self defense shootings, u can see that the bad guy, after being fatally shot, still fires several more shots at the good guy before either dropping or running away and then dying/going to the hospital. In all reality, no matter what anybody says, stopping power is not real, since nothing actually instantly stops anybody committed to doing harm or in fear of their lives except the universal off switch called the brain. U can put a hole in someone straight through the heart and both lungs and they will still be shooting/stabbing u 5-10 seconds later before they give out. Look at some videos on that online, it really gives insight. Having a modified one of these hdr 68 guns like u have is similar to having a compact bean bag round from a shotgun but a bit weaker, so honestly a good choice for someone who doesn't feel comfortable with a firearm. Unless ur in the UK, than this would be requiring a firearm permit to own due to the 11 fpe rule 😅
ya your right, when i say stopping power i just mean more painful power in other words, lol id rather use some thing that will do some nice damage but not be lethal, then something thats way underpowered, and if the laws here abled us to use firearms for defense then thats what i would use any day, but we cant really use anything for defense in canada but its best to use less lethal if you do use something, that way you can avoid a possible life sentence as well
@umarext4elesslethalhomedef872 I completely agree, I live in the U.S. and have been blessed enough to be able to carry a firearm, however I always have a less lethal option for that exact reason of wanting to not go to jail in case the situation is dangerous but there isn't any weapons involved on the bad guys part. Law gets real sticky when that situation occurs and someone draws a gun, even defensively, on an unarmed assailant. That's where less lethal excells in my opinion 😉

5:05 you've got to remember that you're just... standing there and taking it. it's not like you're getting yourself pumped up to do what you had to to survive. i remember robbing people when i was homeless and addicted and i usually did just a little bit of ice with my doc before i used to hit licks because i could absolutely crash out and not feel any of it, nor would i be scared to do any of it- i was ready for it. but then again i also was in a serious dark time in my life and borderline wished someone would just shoot me while i robbed them- but it never happened and thankfully... i never got arrested for anything before I realized the drugs were killing me and my loved ones were dying watching me become what i became. .
Lordy i was looking at the grimburg gavle and now i know id have to hit the guy in the face to stop him i just need to watch more of ur vids and learn to mod these weapons cuz it seems like the 50+ joule out put is what u need to put a person down. Back when the only paintball gun you could get was a splatmaster me and my cousin got two of them and first we set up two layers of cardboard and it shot right through them leaving a big .68 cal hole if that wasn’t enough to WARN us of the power these things had we...well I came up with the idea to shot each other. I took the first shot with a Tee Shirt on and I almost crapped in my pants, but I had to act like it was no big deal so my cousin would let me shoot him so when he got hit in the back he went into a war dance lol and I finally got to do some screaming myself. Lol
I appreciate the test and pain you endured for us. But I have to say that I am not conviced that this is enough to actually stop someone who is determined to come at you. I´m very interested in test with increased padding aka Winter clothes. That jacket absorbed some of the impact for sure but I couldn't make out how thick it actually was. I am wondering how the party goes when you wear and unders shirt, T-Shirt, Sweater and a medium winter jacket. Is there anything coming through at 10 meters? I guess I might have to test this myself :D I would feel more comfortable with 60+ joule in my hands.
ya man both shot went through my jacket lol i had t shirt, hoody and jacket and yes it took a lot of the impact but not that much, the first shot grazed me so not bad and the second would suck with just a t shirt on, and yes im around the 50-60 mark myself i believe that will break my ribs no problem even through the thick clothing
What were you wearing that you took off off camer that sounded very heavy when it hit the ground? You are right for making the point but im just curious because that truly makes all the difference
it was my clothes, my sweater jacket and t shirt and it wasnt heavy it was clothing or my helmet, if you think im hiding something just simply run the test yourself and prove me wrong, i promise you will get the same welt on your back for nothing, it will be much worse with just a t shirt on :)

4:38 I would guess its because you're not properly priming the air system in the gun. Due to that, the first shot doesn't use as much compressed air, so it gets less energy than it should. The second shot "is always worse" because the first shot primed the system. Just my uneducated guess. To test, you could dry fire the gun first. Then load the ammo and your first shot might act more like a "second shot". on a side rant, im sure everyone has their reasons for considering less lethal. But like you mentioned near the end, odds are when you really need something like this, a silly little co2 gun isn't the best thing to gamble your life on. They probably wont even feel them. Even if you shot them with bullets, they have still been known to not feel it and continue on with 5+ bullets in them (sometimes). The magic behind the bullets is the critical organ failure that is likely to result. Whether they feel them or not, if your shot placement is good, their body will stop working. At the end of the day, something is better than nothing (i guess). I personally wouldn't put myself in a position (or a state) where I cant protect myself (or my family and friends) by any level deemed necessary by the situation.
