Holy crap!!!! Wow this is so amazing! A brand new Umarex Gauntlet 2 has around 100 joule, and sells for 400 bucks. While self DIY a 99 dollar paintball marker with some parts, and you can reach nearly the same result. Kudos my guy, kudos.
I admire all the work you are putting into these to demo higher power potential. I enjoy seeing innovation. Maybe a few people will have the skills to do it as nice as your build but most won't. It's definitely an option though to move from the easy 40-50ish Joule VKS "less lethal" out of the box into a gray zone of lethalish by putting in the work. At least that option now exists.

Yes building all the extra kit is lot of work, but it looks like if all you want is power, there is very little work needed (aside from barrel extension). Just get cheap TR50, take valve block out, add hpa extension and that's basically it. Get remote line and hpa tank/regulator with adjustable pressure. No need to shorten valve pin, no need to take regulator disk out (since there isn't any on TR50).
Agreed for me even with the 11 J valve upgrade I did I'm still getting over 11 joules with the ammo I use 95 Joules is definitely verging on lethal plus it was a pain in you know what doing the first upgrade I'm sure I could do it now that I've got more experienced but do I really need 95J I don't think so also I have to wonder how the heat core will hold up to that kind of power

Thanks for the instructional video. What is the optimal barrel length? is 18 inch long enough to get maximum power? You mentioned 22 inch barrel. Since big bore air guns are pretty expensive, HDR50/TR50 maxed out could be cheaper alternative (as long as something inexpensive like sched 40 steel pipe is used for barrel extension). 3/8 inch pipe has 0.493 inner diameter which should work.
i tried a 22 inch barrel and got a 10 joule increase, im dying to shoot this at some longer ranges its more fun and yes very cheap compared to a texan .50 lol or a dragon claw

thanks man, ya any one of the hdrs is great and can reach well over 100 joules, but the 50 cal dont need as much energy for defense to be effective, and also has more after market parts as well, the hdp needs a bit more tinkering but thats also another good one same as the hdb 68, just remove the valve block and connect to hpa and longer barreland you got a monster lol
That was AWESOME! How many psi do you run into the gun when you swap from CO2 to PSA? I have an HPA tank and always wondered how much pressure I would have to set it at if I wanted to use it in place of CO2 cartridges.. Just didn't know what range to regulate it at that wouldn't blow up a airgun that was made for standard CO2.

Hello, have you considered dieseling a Z.50 V2 projectile in combination with HPA? Oxygen is combustible whereas co2 isn't. How much high pressure air do you think is required for ignition? I have a stainless steel bolt and firing pin in my HDR 50. The only thing I'm concerned about is a reaction to heat on the seal in the valve housing. My HDR 50 modifications including a 16" tuning barrel achieved 580 fps (73 joules) with a 'devastator' round! I'm still waiting for additional tuning barrels to bring the length to over 24" and with HPA I should realize 95+ joules. My existing HDR 50 tune-up consists of a stainless steel bolt, stainless steel firing pin, restrictor removed, valve block removed, the 'extreme modify pin', tuning barrels (16"), tuning drum, 2 Z-chambers. I achieved 4 consistent shots with one 12 gram CO2. I also ordered the 88 gram adaptor W/ additional air chamber from Critical Situations. That is for the Umarex dual CO2 adapter and/or 88 gram cylinders. My next acquisition will be an HPA set-up! What HPA pressures do you recommend for application with my modified HDR 50 carbine build? yes your right man this is way to much for less lethal i dont keep mine near this high but im just showing that they are capable, for those who are able, but they do make great plinking markers also :)
@@rick31869 in self-defense you never try to aim for limbs, that's a good way to end up dead with a pissed attacker that will be doubly motivated to hurt you back... even if it's less lethal you aim for body and head shots never for "movie" shots like arms or legs.

LL means less lethal then a firearm but can still be very lethal, non lethal is another story, i consider anything under a 9mm is less lethal same with crossbows and airbows and bows

hpa is high pressure air, same as dive tanks its breathable dry air and its much more powerful then co2 as co2 is a liquid that turns into air, also this carbine is discontinued :(
so far im getting 143 joules as my highest most are around 100 joules but myhdr just hit 143 in my last video, and yes the fsc, vks, m17, byrna tcr so many to modify for good power
Hi bro wanted to ask if not a problem , i see on your marker you have a short line running into the hpa tank. i'm looking to do the same so i don't have to have a long coil dangling around even if i mount it to the side of my marker. wanted to ask what would i need to have my hdb68 cal. have the same setup as this one you have. in this video.? also don't want to have my tank w/the remote line just hanging out under the grip with the long coil. appreciate your help bro with what i will need to have my marker with this setup, stay warm up there in the great white north :) cheers bro 👍

@@michaelbertrand3725 WOW !!! that is strange .i know crossman gives schematics and parts list breakdowns , thats sad umarex doesnt have all parts in the ready ! you will have to research custom springs and have someone make it ,but you need to ask umarex all the tech info on spring like lenght ,size piano wire , and poundage ? this would be a perfect opportunity to get a much stronger spring !

I feel like these will be more lethal to the user than an attacker. This isnt going to do anything to a grown man but make him mad if u hit him in the face. It doesnt matter modified or not. The fact is. If the person attacking you has a gun and you have this, the outcome is you ending up in a casket. If it doesnt project bullets with gunpowder, Dont buy it for defense.
lmfa its the same power as a 22 cal short this will go through your skull at 10 feet clean, never mind your face dude hahaha i can max this out at around 142 joules, at 95 it goes clean through diamond plate and after 100 joules it goes through 1 and a half inch of plywood and at 143 goes through 2 inches of ply i have tonns of videos proving it, lmao nice guess though man just come up with that off the top of your head real quick? :) go see my vids and watch what 38 joules does to your back through thick winter clothing, before you rake 95 joules tough guy id like to see you take 38-40 joules any where in the body or face lmao story up man

These numbers must be shared with the community. Idgaf about who is selling the parts. I'm in Cuba can't order those parts. I'm starting to feel a way and the voice is annoying af. Just tbh
