I transitioned from the Schwiezer to the R22 and it was like taking a step backwards. I loved how stable the Schwiezer was and miss being able to fly it. Will have to definitely have to fly an Enstrom now.

I transitioned from and Enstrom to a Schweizer and felt the same way (never flown a Robinson). After finishing my cert in the 300 I had a chance to fly an Enstrom again. Oh my the Enstrom autos are so nice - just like flying. Even though you know it is going to work out, that nose-down feeling when autoing a 300 always made a part of me feel like it was all over, but the Enstrom = wow.

i always said for over 40 years and for the new year 2022 enstrom are the best both in piston and turbine light helicopters, Peter

Honestly! I am a somewhat dissatisfied with HAI and the cost of attending that show. It's extremely overpriced as far as I am concerned! Just last night Taz and I decided to turn a book signing is Las Vegas. In to a book signing / fly in / discount instructional flights with Taz / meet and greet etc. The money I would spend on HAI Heli Expo, would be much better spent on my own show! HOGS Expo Las Vegas 2019!

This is kinda of a stupid question but I come from rc helis and there is something called idle up where the motor keeps the same power and rpm through out the whole flight and how I adjust “the power” is by using the cyclic and collective pitch is that the same case for real life helis or are you constantly adjusting engine throttle and power.

Depends on aircraft, type of throttle, governor vs manual control, some have a correlator to help with throttle. So depends. Thanks for the question!

So what is your position on lifting the collective a little right when you get that bit of settling before the whoosh of ETL takes you off? Do you just let it ride, or are you going to say if you get the dip you are starting off too fast?

Keep the nose straight with pedals and push through ETL. I do the painfully slow take off so there is not much a dip. I'm a fan of not moving the collective during take off when possible.

I have about 100 hrs in a R22, and little over 100hrs in the Schweizer 300c, I don't ever want to fly the 22 again, The Enstrom looks like a nice platform, there is an Enstrom up for auction on tradeaplane X CA police Turbine FYI .Thanks for the video Kenny

So if a guy as experienced as that pilot loves the Enstrom it speaks a lot for this aircraft right? So why go Robinson? It looks like Enstrom is the way to go.

The Enstrom is awesome. It's a more expensive aircraft to operate than the Robinson. Also not as available as the Robinson! Thanks for commenting.

You know it! Last night Taz and I dreamed up HOGS Expo Las Vegas 2019. Maybe we can have an Enstrom there and I will take you up for your first flight!
