It has been a long time coming but we finally decided to dive into the engine in today's video. We run a compression test to get an idea of the condition of the bottom end of the engine as well as the heads prior to any work. Then we completely remove the top end of the engine to prepare for machining. In the mean time we decided to go ahead and try to clean up the engine bay from all the dirt and grime left by the breather on the valve cover. Check out all the progress we have made to this Big Block Ford!!

I was waiting for you to comment! I will be filming the reinstallation as well as replacement of the hoses and other bits we have ordered. My dad finally has some time to work on the car so we can make some more progress on it!

@@ChadMees cheers back. I was very excited about this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fY6KCiAeD04.html Probably watch it 10 times and crying nine times. As a huge fan of T-birds I'm still waiting when you gives this T-bird second or maybe third life. I hope your dad was and still really happy about this present. Wish you well. Hopefully I will finish upgrade of my T-bird this year and make some movies

I know this is an older video but can someone explain why if you are going to remove the heads anyway why you would take off the exhaust manifolds first when they have the propensity to snap studs. Is there an issue that I am not considering in just taking off the heads with the exhaust manifolds attached and deal with the possibility of snapped bolts on the bench?

How come nearly all folks with vintage cars have to make them sound loud? What's so wrong with an OEM sound and exhaust? Just curious.

We like the "hot rod" sound. Also the car had glass packs on it when we got it and haven't had a chance to do any exhaust work yet! I could see keeping an original car that is numbers matching with the stock quiet exhaust but in our situation the car is not numbers matching and has been painted from the original sandstone exterior as well as the original beige interior swapped to black.
