Thank you for these book reviews! I had heard similar things about tarot for troubled times and was already on the fence to give it a read but at this point I have other tarot books to spend time and money on.

Thank you! I thought it was just me with Tarot for Trouble Times! Was still attempting to power through it, now I can trust my gut and pass it along to someone else. Why were there pages and pages of journaling prompts that didn't even use tarot? So many missed opportunities, I get the feeling it was rushed to press without good editor. Live & learn!

For me I have felt the sun held more masculine energy not becos of classical mythology but becos the sun itself promotes and incites action and activity which to me is an aspect of the masculine. Whereas the Moon is reflective and feminine in energy. However, we are all a blending together of both energies so regardless I'd love to read Drawing down the Sun 💖 Thank you for your honest reviews, I love these videos

For the purpose of the shadow work I can really recommend a book from Raven Digitalis "Shadow Magick Compendium".

I've heard things similar to what you found in the Troubled Times book. Unfortunately it seems that it was given a "dark" title to cash in on the current interest in doing shadow work with tarot. Also unfortunately, it damages the credibility of the authors, which is a shame, but a choice they made. The recent guidebook for the Emerging from Darkness tarot is the best information + spreads I've found on shadow work, and the author, Robin Cole, references the Christine Jette book on shadow work. I was really disappointment by Tarot For Troubled Times, I was really hoping for so much more. Sasha Grahams Dark Wood tarot, I think, is great for shadow work, the guide book is amazing.

Yup. Supposedly Brigid was " Born" at the precise moment of dawn. That is why she is a solar goddess. But with her it is the dawn specifically. This is why I've always associated the sun with the feminine. The moon is masculine to me because when I think of moon light I see the horned god stalking his prey threw the trees, guided by the light of the full moon. Byt that is only my personal point of view.

The whole masculine feminine dichotomybetween sun and moon, is easier in classical astrology. We have all in our chart at birth and at the core of being. Putting to much emphasis on one is futile. Make lunar water but also solar water.... work with Mars but also Venus, blah blah. Balance and ofcourse we have gifts that may lean toward one over others but use them to boost that "I am" energy of doing, as well as reflecting. However in theory is easier, but your right, our western culture has in the main moved so far from that balance, putting into practice in our spiritual and magical mundane life is a journey fo sho. That tarot for troubled times? Should be reported for false advertisement. I looked through and returned within 24hours. It was shit.
