Why cactus?
It's one of the objects you're going to make and use for your future projects in the background of the scenes. I would recommend saving it, also, it's very easy to make it hyper realistic or low poly, too!
Setup your speed and follow! We are going to model a cactus, assign veritices for spikes, sculpt a little bit, set up material and play with our cacti composition.

at 1:11 how did you get the option of the spikes to come up in the density option?

Hi, at 1:12 when you change "Emit from" to vertices, you get multiple spikes from 1 vertice. But mine doesn't do that. Any clues on what I could change in the setting that allows to get that same effect? Edit: I found the solution In "Particle properties" in the "rotation" section change the "orientation" to "normal". Amazing end result! I Subscribed

Thanks! Also, When you go under Particles, try changing Emission number. You'll get different amount of spikes depending how many vertices you have.
