I’ve watched all three of these walkthrough episodes and I found them to be quite insightful and very interesting to watch a pro create a detailed 3D character from start to finish. Good job, really inspiring 👍🏾

The curves thing is huge. I modeled a Subaru for Assetto Corsa and when I did the seat belts I modeled them directly and it was a big hassle adjusting them after. Shrink wrap is also a great tool! Thanks Yan this was a really informative and quick tutorial.

So far, my blender journey has been interesting. I started out using the modeling mode, and making basic human forms, then subdividing them. I then slowly moved to making N64/PS1 styled models, with low res textures and everything. I eventuall found myself returing to higher and higher poly models, and I am starting to get limited by the amount of polygons I can manage. So, this takes me here, where I am trying to learn how to sculpt.

the fact that your sculpting is so stupidly clean, I've gone pretty hardcore into modeling/sculpting myself. I'm really mathematical so i've always done almost everything with a 'modeling' mentality. Little bit of both is always good. But damn you do things so clean. Hope I can learn through my failures to be a little bit more clean myself. Keep on keeping on good sir.

@yansculpts
@yansculpts 5 лет назад
From start to the end of this part, modeling sculpting and re topology included, it took a little over 14 hours looking at the recordings of that section. This does not include rigging and posing, re-sculpting in multi res, texturing and rendering that I didn't show yet. I think the whole character took around 30 hours, definitely a lot longer than my usual ones ;).

Not like her character isn't too far off. Different planet that deals with aliens, that is mostly under the control of a corporation that has its own army that protects the people but also basically enslaves them, all the while that same company is seeking out power that can kill everyone except for a select few.
