Very good job of flying Justin, I have not seen a review of this one in a while. I have had mine for almost a year now and when I fly this beast, it makes my heart pound. I have only done a little 3D with it because like you said it is scary to fly. You got a great deal on this quad, I paid 175.00 for mine.

Oh yeah thanks Gregory. I like it. I saw it come out a while back. But I was so busy with fpv racers I didn't think about it. I recently requested it for a review because I thought it looked fun and affordable.

Mine also was DOA, the front right servo was broken , this was due to the lack of protection around the quad and the front right arm had been forced through the box hence snapping tho top of the servo , supa glue did the job and I have flown it since , however it's always on my mind it will brake if pushed to hard . So get the packing sorted GB coz this is a BIG quad and the Meagher wrapping you use is not enough .. Hence all the complaints

Hi Justin I have two of these. The first was from Gearbest and was DOA. GB offered $10 as a refund, it was $170, ended up with a full refund from PP. Needless to say I’ve never used GB for anything since. The second I bought direct from WLTOYS EU and surprisingly was cheaper than GB and this one performs great. I also have the Raptor500 from HK. This does not have the stability mode, pure ACRO, and more power than the V383 from the 6s 1800mAh supplied. As you say they can be a bit of a squeaky sphincter at first, not just for you but others watching, but when you find your stride they’re a lot of fun. Regards Nidge.

sputniksam I have been waiting for a refund from 22nd October 17 from those wankers at GB. A darkmax I ordered from them was DOA , never again!

Hi Paul. In my case it was my first purchase from GB, and my last. I contacted their CS within an hour of receiving the quad. First they tried to claim that because DOA’s needed to be claimed within three days and because it took 14 days to arrive from China the claim period had expired. Next they offered $10 refund and I kept the DOA quad. I refused. So they offered to send a replacement but not before I sent a further $150 for administrative costs. I refused. Next they suggested that I send it back to China for inspection. They stipulated that I SHOULD NOT use any tracking and NOT DECLARE there was a largish LiPo in the package otherwise Chinese Customs would try to charge them and they would refuse to accept it. I refused and opened a PP dispute. PayPal initially concluded the dispute in my favour but would not pay out before I returned the quad to China. I presented PP with confirmation from Royal Mail that they would not accept the package as it contained a LiPo so PP refunded me the total cost and instructed me to keep the quad. The whole irony of this is that when I first contacted GB I suggested they just replace the faulty receiver and gyro board but they said that is was impossible. I managed to get a replacement from WLTOYS directly for $25. If you haven’t done already, Paul, I would suggest you post in the RCGroups Gearbest support thread. Gearbest monitor and reply here and it does appear to be a more efficient way of resolving these issues. Regards Nidge.

Now I want to upgrade it to fly on 5S or 6S. I used to fly my 500mm helis on 6S. They had a lot of punch out and authority. Problem is at those speeds you have to go over the heli often and tighten up belts and loose bolts. But this one has plenty of potential for guys who want something different and some thing to play around with.

i have one.. 1 slight crash and the frame bends and is nearly unusable.. i have all the parts to repair it but it seems like a tall order.. ALSO the plastic that attaches to the carbon tubes wears out QUICKLY and you start to get the front and back axels moving independently instead of being ridged.. yes i tighten everything

Is the camera included with the quad or did you add that yourself? Also, I had minor difficulty differentiating the drone from the flying dinosaurs (birds) until the drone acted in such a way that birds cannot, hahaha!!! :-) BTW I'm pleased to see that I'm not the only droner who crashes their quad every now & again. :-D

Hey, I've got one of those. When I switch the Tx on and connect the battery, and touch nothing else, the copter experiences a twitch every 10 to 15 seconds or so.
