@@flo.motion awesome! If you could also add the mesh for the head you substituted for the primitive that would be super helpful too! Looking forward to following along. You have really helped me grow my skills over the last year! Thanks!
Thanks for this. The one issue I see cropping up for all of these instructional videos is the actor movement is incredibly slow and not representative of what an actual scene would be. It would be great if you could do a follow-up with natural human movement, turns, profile angles, walking...etc
Got you! My issue is that I need to show examples that are easy to understand an to watch... but I will definitely try to also incorporate more "real world" examples!! Btw: the tracker does a really good job for fast moves or even 360° spins... you just need a few more keyframes
Bro, can you help me please, I'm trying to import a helmet that is in OBJ format. but when I click import from after effects it doesn't appear and when I try to drag it from the windows folder it won't let me. you know why? help me plsss
3d models are flickering and disappearing and original clip keeps flickering and cutting when rendering, in preview in after effects, perfectly fine, when rendering, everything goes haywire, any ideas anyone?
Any idea why the analysing footage is taking forever? Its been 10+ minutes and its only at 22% this isn't right, i have a 3090ti gpu and a ryzen 9 3950x cpu, is it really this slow of analysing before i can use the toolbar to track the footage with my object?
Hey, how long is your footage? And in which resolution? 10minutes for 22%... so about 45 mins for a whole shot... could be... my shot of 10 seconds took about 5mins though..
I'm using after effects since 3 years now and never heard about this plugin. For simple and even some advanced tasks you now don't need a 3d software. Amazing!
Tracker wirks in all version. But rhe native 3d Import only worls in the beta... you could for example use every Version for the tracker and then use Element3D. But the beta is for free if you already have AE installed 😎
The thing is that 3D tracking is pretty advanced. But don’t give up, you can get there. Start by the simpler videos, like the earliest ones in his channel. He has one on 3D in after effects that’s just a new thing in the 2023 beta version, then watch one about tracking, and understand that this is a plugin. Maybe some basics too. You should have both the 2023 and the plugin, then try again.
Am I the only one who can't insert a GLB/OBJ file directly into After Effects? When I try to import files in the same way as you, nothing happens ... kindly please for instructions for the stupid ones how to do it :)
Looks like the glb files cannot be imported anymore, maybe in future updates, but for now, it is not possible anymore, I used obj with E3D, then created a null from 3d object and parent the position/rotation etc.
Once again, you've made a tutorial like no other on RU-vid. This is extraordinary and opens up a lot of possibilities. Can't wait to start trying it out for myself!
@@flo.motion questions, can I use this plugin also as a mocha planar tracker and then apply the tracking nfo to a video layer with the ability to change the transformation size and position.
i have a query, you used a skull for your tracking so seperating the jaw part was easy but what if i want to use an actual face model.....so, do we have something for that as well? like can we use the rigs for it or something?
Hey, for the tracking there is a model of a face already built in where you can enable all different parts of the head! And you find the same head for free as a 3D model in the internet! ;)
First you say it can be done without any 3rd party programs, thats false since we need a plugin. Then you say its free, thats false since its a 15 days trial (so its a paid one, probably with your affiliate link wich you dont mention). You do good videos (even when your sense of humor is just bad), but you should stop doing these clickbaits.
hey! Was free when I created the video, as it was still in beta... also no affiliate link... and I said you can do 3d in AE now without 3rd party plugin, which is totally true. The plugin only does the tracking part! I just recently released a new video on the new improvements! WIthout 3rd party plugin and extra costs! 😂
Although I wouldnt consider this for full blown 3D vfx, this is really good for simple 3D vfx which will def enhance your videos. However, I see people pushing this to its limits in creativity so its going to be exciting.
Well... maybe because you can use 3D models in trapcode, for example trapcode form... but of course you can also use it natively now in the beta or in other 3D software! Hope that helps
I’m just learning about all these effects available for the average user . My question is, when is green screen even necessary then? It seems you can do almost anything without green screen . In what situation would green screen or objects in green be useful for later adding special effects?
@@flo.motion Time cook said : "If it's free, you're the product "I have many plugins like lock down, Mocha pro etc I paid for it but this plugin how can deliver this for free? Do you understand my thoughts,if it's free without any surprise it's great
dude this is not helpful for beginners. How are you not going to explain how to export the skull files as GlB. It doesnt even show up when i try to import it into after effects
sir can you provide your rough footage please i want to practice on it ..not only me many of us will be appreciated if you do so ...thank you in advance
You mean the footage of me sitting in front of a camera? Hey, you know what... I can not think of any smartphone that is not capable of doing that! And second: believe me, you will learn a lot more if you take the time to shoot it yourself! 😎
excellent video bro. Can you give me the link to the head mesh that you used in your video. I just entered the link that you put in your description but there are many and I don't know which one it is. Plsss
Hi friend you are doing great!!!! I need your small help can you give me that skull GIB files and can you also tell me how I find the GLB files from internet
It works as you say in the preview but after you import your actual model and link them up it doesn’t work anymore the same way. All mine did was rotate side to side instead of turning flat like you would turn your head. I think this program is like a joke, for fun. Not for professional use.
Hey hey... Don't get frustrated as you can't get it right immediately... Professional work unfortunately also takes time and experience... And indeed the tool is used for almost each feature film these days... 😎😎
@@flo.motion So any idea why in the tracking window it rotated the model perfectly but after I imported the actual model and parented it then it only rotated side to side. Supposed to be rotating left to right.
Mocha is the best for planar tracking or mesh tracking!! If you want to track a 3d object you need the geo tracker. If you want to track a 3d scene you can use the camera tracker and potentially soon also mocha pro...
@@flo.motion Awesome THANK YOU, but honestly still have no idea about the technicalities of it. I need to watch more videos about it so I can fully understand how it works, lucky for me I found your channel.
WOOOOOW :)) Thank you for showing us all the cool stuff AGAIN! And I still cannot believe that I won!! Thank you!! You are the best!! I'm sooooo happy :)) I can't wait the next tutorial... Keep us entertained!! 🥰
So cool! I waited for this and it came so fast. Thank you for this @flomotion I learned a lot. This is a huge help to professionally lazy video editors! 😆 Love the humor on your videos! Keep it coming!

anyone else having the problem, that the play forward button in the toolbar is grayed out? I'm on th elatestr Aodbe After Effects version (2023.xxx) also: under lciense in the effect it says Beta, 29 Days left, what happens when the 29 Days expire? EDIT: If your fixed the problem with the play forward buttons easily: just safe project and restart after effects :)
Update. I could not find the glb file but I was able to download a cool gilt file of a different skull. Now new problem, I followed you steps to export the 3d null but for some reason the null goes way off the working area. After switching thought the different views, in the "left view" I realized that the null was way in front the video layer so when I parent the skull with the null it flies all over the place. The question is then how do you adjust the null or how do you make sure the null lands I the right spot in 3d space? There are not may options in the export drop down menu, only link and mode. thank you
@@flo.motion Thank for reply. Yes I followed your step and chose the custom fixed in the geo tracker effect like you did at 3:18 and tried with the "active camera" and "custom fixed" is set before tracking. I did not see any other cameras that were Brough into the sequence in your tutorial. However, you are correct in the assumption this is something to do with camera. It appears the tracking data is reversed and placed not on the footage but on the camera it self. In other words, when I look from "left" view I can see the camera moving and the skull moving in accordance, almost as if the skull was a projection from the camera and so the skull sitting at the end of the perspective cone. I hope am I making this clear. I have been troubleshooting this following your steps exactly but somehow can't get around this problem. help would be greatly appreciated. if it helps, I can share a screen recording of the problem. thank you
@@flo.motion Update. I got a solution to my inaccurate tracking from Keentool. The 3d object needed to so be zeroed out at the three dimension in initial position. In other words, the object was tracking correctly, but when dropped into composition it was somewhere else in the 3d space. Perhaps this is common sense, but for someone (like me) who is not familiar with 3D objects this was a frustrating obstacle. I figure I shared this solution, as it is apparently a common problem Keentools has been reached out to, and I am sure few others here have ran into. Thank you for continuing making great tutorials and I feel ready now for the more advance one you have already posted.
Beside the obvious and great 3D object track solution that it is, it seems like a viable solution for planar tracker in the phone/tablet case scenario when hands and fingers crossing cause subtle vibrations that Mocha can't handle properly because of occlusion. Thanks!
@@flo.motion weiß ich noch nicht genau^^ es ist cool dass man das inzwischen so mit After effects machen kann für größere projekte ist das in anderen programmen zumindest realistische rumzusetzen
Always the best !!! For guys who discover Flomotion Channel , you must know he s the best teacher for after effects on RU-vid … always giving tips wich make progress your level…with a good sense of humor… thanks to be there Flo!👍🤩🤩
