WOW so good! Learnt a few things from this^^ Like how to make hair. And I never would've thought of painting it! How long did it take to make this? I've bought quilling tools ages ago and am only just getting around to starting^^ This helped
+jewellia7777 Thank you so much for your lovely comment! The paint is useful if you don't have the right colour paper to hand - and it also adds a bit of strength and protection to your art. I recommend acrylic paint the most. It will resist moisture, dries really quickly, and you can paint over dark colours with lighter ones. I would also suggest you test your acrylic paints on a small quilled shape first. Some acrylic paints have a matte finish to them when dry and these keep the look and texture of paper when applied in a thin layer. Too much paint or shine will make it look like plastic. Unless you're also going to add glitter like I did, then it doesn't really matter. This Cinderella took me approximately 3 hours to make altogether - but there was a lot of stopping and starting while waiting for things to dry. I'm so glad you found this video helpful and I couldn't be happier that it's helped inspire you to create your own pieces too. Good luck! :D
I love your tutorial! It was surprisingly easy to follow. The only thing is I would make the base more bigger to look like her in the movie but if there's a reasoning for it, i'd love to know i'm new to quailing and i need all the tips and tricks i can get lol anyways good job on the video
+Sherry Hara Thank you Sherry. It was never intended to be a tutorial - but if you could follow it then great! I appreciate your comment - it would indeed be nice to have a bigger base to give the dress a "poofier" look like in the film. I did do my original with a bigger base - but the length of the strips I use are a bit too short to make the bigger base. And the more strips that go onto the tool, the harder it becomes to keep them steady. One wrong move, one slip of the hand and they all unravel! This is why I decided to make a smaller base - and the difference in overall appearance is very slight. Perhaps in the future I'll do a new and updated version of Cinderella. We are improving our skills all the time, and it's great to see how your artwork develops as a result. Good luck to you with your own projects, and thanks again for your comment :D
Really Very Amazing! Learnt alot from this Such as Making 3d stuff. This really helped me cuz i have just started quilling classes! Thanks Alot @twirledandtwisted
Thank you for your comment. Ahh, It's fast because It was only intended to show that I made it - not to teach people how. I am planning to do a series of tutorial videos in the near future that will break down the steps to make a princess :D
