Best peak static if: APC 5.7x3 / 18,249 rpm / 52 mph pitch speed / .138hp / 15.9oz thrust. Best peak level pass after a dive at 2 mins. 44 seconds into the vid hit a brief level 25,512 rpm / 72.4 mph - 117 kph. As a option if you can CNC a good breathing header and muffler with a pressure tap it will yield steady rpm in all directions. Other benefit is controlled oil spray can order the RC carb from Cox International in Canada, they also sell a simple muffler that can take a pressure tap it will work rather well. Aluminum ring type with a hole bored in the side for the exhaust, can add a header pipe to that if desired. New APC 4.4x4 will allow you to hit 95 mph ish more steady rpm without RC carb or muffler pressure.
Oh wow, thanks man for the calculations! The prop is an APC 5.7x3. The Speed is around what I have assumed. I might just make some Kind of exhaust system first as the hot exhaust gases melted a hole in the 3D-printed firewall after a few flights… I printed the fireall with PETG (Colorfabb XT) but apparently the hot oil spray and exhaust gases are too much for PETG. I have a few of the old ring type mufflers. Maybe I will make a nice exhaust system with tuned pipe and pressure tap one day. Anyway, thanks again for your calculations and suggestions, I appreciate that. Cheers
why not make it pressur tank out of a chrildren pacifier, break the plastic off and tak a piece off fuel line with a brass tube inside and put in the pacifier with a rubber band
Hi, how did you manage to make the plane strong? I printed the original version of the 72 cm wingspan And the printed version is 130% Both planes bend at high speed when turning and break on landing
Hi, in all of my nucking futs versions, I added a carbon fiber wing spar. I inserted it into the servo cable channel and routed the cables elswhere. On the 130% version, I als reinforced the tails ection with some glass fiber overlays. Hope this helps.
