In this video I'm demonstrating the use of the Venco de-airing pug mill, loading extrusion tubes for our 3D printer clay Ram extruder. In the first portion of the video I cycle through the prepared EM 751 throwing clay. I am cycling the clay to get homogeneous consistency throughout the clay body. In the second part of the video I attach the clear polycarbonate extrusion tube to the receptacle and load the de-aired clay. This by far is the easiest method to prepare extrusion tubes for 3D printing that I know of. I've been working on this process now for over 3 months and these are the results I was hoping for. www.3dpotter.com

We have several customers running two machines all day with no pugmill. It's relatively easy to load the tubes by hand. The short version is you basically roll the clay into a sausage slightly smaller than the inside of the tube. Next you drop the clay down the tube and tap gently so that it settles without trapping air. You're ready to go. www.3dpotter.com

Is there an alternative to using a pugmill for this purpose? I have a 3D printer for personal research that I'd like to clean up the resolution on (erase bubbles) but I don't have access to a pugmill
