I had a lot of fun with this project, even though it didn't entirely work out. Due to the amount of time this project took up, I'm going to have to leave it and get to work on the next one.

this video is so impressive. Many of other video just show final result, but this video show us whole attempt and fails. And these behind story give me a lot of ideas and inspirations.

This was so fascinating to watch this evolutionary process you underwent to get the desired result. Ok it didn't work out how you hoped but it was quite a process, and you've only got so many hours in a day - gives you ideas for improving the design or other future projects. Thanks Auntie! I’ve got a couple projects planned that I want to work on, so in the future when I have more time, projects like these will have the opportunity to be revised.

Did you try printing a ring similar of the last one for the optical? With this you much improve the motion and the stability.

Whenever you turn the wheel the whole frame flexes and that's when the friction is loosening. Instead of 3D printing everything use some more sturdy material like plywood (cheap) or aluminium extrusion and rods (expensive).

@@TommyHoughton not a professional opinion but you can see it on your video - when you try to turn, the arms at the bottom flex and the wheel starts skipping.

Nice video, and you probably could get sponsored by SmallRig for it :) Definitely makes that purchase look worthwhile. I'd swap Fusion360 timelapses with slow showing of the final model: timelapses are hard to watch and they are too fast to give any information.
