3D printing LW-PLA with no stringing starts at the design stage

How you can use the basics behind Vase and Surface mode without turning these features on in your slicer.
My Ender 6 is not capable of Vase or Surface mode but I can still get the advantages that they offer when I design components as they would be for these modes.
It's a long video but most of it is examples within Fusion 360 and not of my bad drawings.

LIFE SAVER ... Thank you ... I have no experience with 3D Printing let alone making Vase prints with LWPLA for Model planes.

Thank you for the great tutorial. Wish I had that 2 years ago. The rational for why the 0.9 gap works is that the hot end nozzle follows the side of the line (as opposed to straight down the middle). So when you have a 0.4 mm nozzle the 2 lines (at 0.4 mm each) leave 0.1 mm gap. With expansion and ooze the filament paths touch and fuse together.

Its a rabbit hole, one thing leads to another. Once you go surface or vase mode you no longer have top and bottom layers but thats a whole different video.

I'm pretty sure I won't ever need this kind of expertise but can really see the power in the approach ! If my 3dprinter ever arrives, I'll perhaps get it printing half as good as your look !

Don't sell yourself short, it wasnt that long ago I know nothing about 3D printing and Fusion 360. RU-vid is your friend and will teach you anything you want to know

Hello Thank you for the tutorial. Have you tried constructing(finding a vase mode path for ) 2 inner and outer shell extrusions that fuse together to make the outer shell 0.8 mm tick? Terje

If you want a .8mm thickness for the walls you can tweak the setting to achieve this. I think I talk about it in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Z3fX9yUsEZs.html
