Hey Dan, Replace the kapton tape for glass bed isn’t to bad . Once the tape rips you can pull it up with a pair of tweezers and then use you hands to pull it off. Also Wham Bam makes a great bed system which it a magnetic removable PEI bed sheet . I have been running that sheet on one of my Makergear M3’s for a year it’s been great. You will need to print new bed clips to use the PEI bed system. Enjoyed your videos 😎🤙

I have looked into getting a magnetic sheet but haven't decided yet. The kapton tape works so well I'm not sure I want to change. Thanks for the info!

@@Filterficial Yes sir , I agree kapton tape and glass works great I kept the glass bed with tape on my M3-ID . If I’m being impatient to pull the prints I’ll print it on the wham bam bed M3 . 😎🤙

Interested in getting this exact printer (my first), mainly because MakerGear is a US based company. However it seems like they are going out of business? Can pay less for the Bambu X1, with seemingly more features, but I would like to avoid that. Should I pull the trigger?

I had a buddy replace the controls on my makergear so it runs klipper now. The stock makergear control is old now and does not have a lot of the new features that klipper offers. Mechanically the makergears are excellent though. If you don't want the hassle of switching to klipper I would go with the bambu.

If you are interested, I will have a MakerGear M3-ID for sale soon. I need a bigger print volume and plan on building a Voron.

So, what is you overall opinion, was this a hit or a miss of a 3d printer? Will you recommend with close eyes or have some thought?

Overall I'm very happy with it, but it's expensive compared to others that do 90% as well.

I heard that it is a great printer but i don't see a control screen or anything on it.

It is controlled by a web interface. It's got a raspberry pi with octoprint.

It has a color display but you can do everything with Octoprint. I have an M2 and and M3. They perform great and are high quality machines that you can run continuously.
