It's actually not too difficult once you get really into it. I'm taking a video game design and development course and we do a lot of modelling. Lots of fun but big projects take a lot of work and planning - it's art man :D
Just keep practicing. Remember there will always be someone better than you, but that doesn't mean you don't have a place and can't make contributions to the field. :)
I just wanted to thank you. I started using Maya a couple years ago, and I'm nearly entirely self taught. And your videos have really, really helped me. Both the general workflow and some of the more specific details, like how you model your tires (those were on a different video -- the way you created the plane and made it tileable, and then deformed it into a circle) were really awesome and helpful.
TNice tutorials was a fantastic beginner's guide, straight to the point, very clear. As a long-ti teacher I can tell you are quite apt at teacNice tutorialng!
+Deena James I think the recording software is just capturing the 3D viewport, the blueprints will be in the orthographic viewports which aren't being recorded. Look at the Aventador video and you'll see what I mean. It's mind blowing how good this guy is.
@@4everal14 si que los creo, pero actualmente son para trabajos y encargos por lo que grabar el proceso me quita un monitor y me es incómodo trabajar así. Me gustaría volver a hacer uno por gusto y subirlo
amarusarashion Yeah the camera we were watching barely moved, which makes sense, as modelling in reality, sped up like that, we'd be seeing a camera move every single frame lol, it would be a mess.
Did you have schooling for this? I'm into 3D modeling but I can't seem to produce models as good as I want to. Do you think time will fix this or do I need to go to school for it? Thanks, I love your videos.
Attend seminars as well on college campuses or sponsored by software development companies. Diversity of thought and constant exposure is helpful. You would be surprised about the techniques and philosophies you'll pick up. People are happy to share.
Did you take classes or learn on your own. I'm a freshmen in highschool and have been learning (or at least tried to) since 8th grade. What do you recommend that I do?
you can also buy tutorials online that will help a lot. the fun side of that is that you can choose what you want to learn. do you want to model architecture or maybe you want do model cars or nature???
AD⁹ Red Then your comment is CAD with the assumption that CAD is only computer aided design anything involving computers can be CAD but the industry classifies CAD as something different. Even Auto desk classifies it the rest of the industry does. Autodesk.com/solutions/cad-software
@@GampoEC He has reference on his orthographic viewpoints (top, side, front, etc.), and only recorded the perspective viewpoints (custom cameras) to showcase the timelapse from different angles. He probably had the perspective viewpoint floating in another screen.
Despite models like this typically being more detailed than cars in Forza, the cars in Forza have to be made to manufacturer required specs while these models don't. I was one of the car modelers on a couple Forza iterations and MillerGo is a better automotive modeler than anyone at Turn10 studios, myself included. These guys do work that is Production (commercial, movie, print) quality while the models at Turn10 are merely game quality. There's a massive difference in skill level here.. guys like Miller, Tim Feher and Durian are on another level.
so guys he has created too many triangles in this model...But i was taught that we do not create any triangles in our models.??can anyone explain it to me ?? And what about the edges looping are they also not necessary ??Please tell me about this,i am a newbie in this field so any help will be appreciated ??
prince charles What people will tell you is that you NEED to model using quads. Although this is true, and by doing this you will have the most PERFECT model anyone could ever make, there are some situations where you just can't simply keep it quads. It is perfectly fine to have a few triangles lying around IF it doesn't ruin the underlying geometry that you are creating. Triangles are a thing for a reason in 3D programs, you can't make quads without triangles.
if you do that on organic stuff you will make your animator suffer the most painful hell he will ever experience, as for objects and weapons, the quads should be done only if that especific part it's gonna be animated even so it doesn't represent a big deal in cars and objects
Being a modeler myself this looks like it took a crazy amount of effort to make. I wonder if the guy that made this thinks there was something in the build he feels like he did a little bit wrong and his banging his head on the wall for it, not realizing everyone else sees the whole model and is completely mind blown.
www.iktrix.co.uk/support/tutorials/scene_working_units/ drawingdatabase.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/blueprint-profil-front-top-rear-i8.jpg From there you can break up the dimensions and add it to the finer details. EG divide a length into smaller parts to measure other parts. ALSO You put in a picture reference in Maya to work off. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Zln3hjvxFFg.html
This is whats called patch modeling in CG...Maya is still the choice for 3D artists in movie & video fx entertainment CGI. Although 3ds Max, Softimage are also very capable 3D apps. latter two are more used in architectural/ engineering, medical visualization, product design and video games design. Nice job in this timelapse video.
Cool! i always felt a little guilty for using polys to model cars...thinking that i should do it with curves, nurbs, etc. Until now! thanks for that! Amazing skills and videos. Cheers.
