This plugin allows the user to copy-paste objects from an opened AutoCAD file into 3DS Max.
The plugin works with multiple opened CAD files, it recognizes the last copied objects.
The script offers many filtering options for the imported objects like:
1-removing the prefix "Layer:" and this will make it easier to select objects by name
2-remove any material applied to the imported objects
3-remove the Block/Style Parent hierarchies
4-select the imported objects when importing is done
5-turn the imported objects into a group
6-you have the option when clicking import to open the main AutoCAD DWG/DXF Import Options so that you can change additional options,
And when you click Import, 3DS Max will import the objects respecting the options in this main dialog + the options in the Script. So you better
choose the options in the script first.

Would be great if you will add option to set the dimensions, like in original import menu

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. Actually i thought about adding the drop down list for the Rescale. Maybe I'll add it in another update soon. For now, check the first option, and when you click Paste, the import dialog will open and you can Rescale and import.

Hi, It pastes something in 3DS Max 2024, but not what I have copied in Autocad 2022. It always copies the same thing. Is there a way to clear the cache?

Hi, thank you for the feedback. I want you to make a test, can you, instead of using Ctrl+C, right click and use the Clipboard option, and see if it makes a difference.

And, by the way, the script doesn't use any Caching, every time you press the Paste button it checks if there are any copied cad objects.

Ok, strange, I'm using Max2023 and I'm testing using AutoCad 2020. Try another thing, close autocad, and click the Paste button, does it give you a warning that there are nothing to paste? or it continues to paste cad objects, even though autocad is closed?

No matter what I do it always pastes the same thing. I closed 3DS Max, Autocad , copy pasted things in Autocad, but reopen 3DSMax and Paste with your script and same thing pastes again. I installed in 3DSMax 2022 and same thing, it just doesn't clear out.@@MiledRizk

Im using Autocad 2024 and 3ds Max 2024. I tried but its saying "Nothing to paste..." It didnt work. Edit: Autocad and Max are both open and i just copied simple autocad objects by Ctrl+C

Hi, it's strange, but i suggest first you check where AutoCAD saves its temporary drawing files: right click the command line and choose Options, click the first tab labeled Files and scroll down to where it says: Temporary Drawing File Location, here check if it points to this path: C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Temp

In addition to my suggestion in my first reply, if the AutoCAD correctly points out to the right path I mentioned, maybe try to delete everything in that Temp folder and try again(this should not be neccessary, but maybe it helps)

@@MiledRizk As a 3ds beginner, thanks so much. I myself created tons of autocad vlisp routines for personal use. I just love automations and shortcuts. :)
