Congratulations on your 3k Jerry . Looking forward to seeing the deck build . Very happy the knee is and has done so well . Can’t believe it’s already been 12 weeks . 👍🏻🇺🇸
Congratulations on over 3k. Just an fyi when milling a small log and your going for a sq post you need to keep the center of the pith in the center of the pole as much as possible or they will bow every time
Right on. I try and shim to keep them centered. I've been getting some poles with lots of tension. They were on the side of a hill. Thanks for the excellent reminder.
congrats on the subscriber count. Lots of work making it all come together I'm sure. I have a few sleigh runners just like yours only mine are ash. Martial arts instructor!!! Wow!! I guess I'd better behave myself and not poke so much fun. Well maybe not. I might be almost 7 decades but I just might be able to still out run you seeing as how you have all those titanium replacement parts 😀
Jim make sure you watch Friday's video. It regards running lol . Yes sir. Taught BJJ and shotokan karate for 26 years. I did still work in the engineering field for more than a decade before going full time in martial arts. I sold my school in 2021. Thanks for all the great comments. I truly appreciate it.
awesome job there Jerry you deserve it, youve made sure the viewers are kept up with videos and have stuck at it hard, your a genuine fella and im glad your getting this publicity. Only upwards now buddy 👍 Them 4x4s sure come out with some tension, i find that a lot when im milling smaller diameter logs like you were, still though, you were able to make something out of a log that was doomed for firewood i guess. Nice job buddy 👍
I actually made a dock out of the 4x4s. They were the structure. I think that'll be in 2 weeks. These logs were on the side of a hill. That's why I suspect they are full of tension. Thanks again for all the support.
Congratulations - your videos are very interesting and insightful. Thank you for making great videos! I noticed you using a grinder to clean off the bark before your 1st cut, I've started to turn the logs "towards" me 90 degrees after the 1st cut so ONLY the 1st cut enters through bark, should increase blade life
@@BigelowWoodcraft oh, you will need a square to get it at a right angle to the bunk - but this also avoids having to worry about your log stop being square as well.
