When your objective is to become a pay-per-view level fighter making pay-per-view level money, it’s not about just winning the fight, you literally have to bring a fighting style and/or charismatic character to the table that is going to compel people to pay for the opportunity to watch you perform. Shakur clearly doesn’t seem to understand that aspect of being a superstar in the sport of boxing. At the end of the day, it’s pivotal to your profession and your brand to give the fans what they’re paying for.

Canelo avoided Benavidez long enough to see if one of two things were to happen. One, if Benavidez got beaten by another fighter. Two, for Benavidez to struggle with weight to the point of him leaving the division. Canelo has intentionally avoided this man all this time.
