The current Covid pandemic has necessitated the prolonged use of PPE and the 3M respirator with the P100 cartridges are not available in India now. Though not ideal but as an alternative arrangement for the continued use of the respirator the cartridge hepa paper filter can be changed to continue the protection.

I'll be honest. It's completely wrong. You may have made a seal on top but there is an opening at every 'vally' or fold you've made. I don't know how I could explain it by writing here but the gaps are all on the other side of the filter. No seal at all.

Very cool... but this is obviously not recommended by the manufacturer. Have you tested how well the cartridge works after the replacement of the filter?

Ah yes, the scalpel and hot glue are the educated man's utility knife and caulk. I'd still recommend silicone caulk, though. It's easier to glob on and won't burn your fingers when you give it a good smear.

Hmm, won't you be breathing that glue vapour in? I have a chemical sensitivity to the glue used in all these cartridges but am fine with the pancake filters. Wish there was a hypoallergenic glue.

What is the difference between this one and the filter one from 2000 series. They’re both p100 but the other one is pancake and this one is in plastic, is there a difference And which benefits

Material wise, they are the same. 7093 offers the same level protection as the 2091. The 2097 has a nuisance odor filter (charcoal layer) in it as well. Only major difference is that the 7093 is enclosed in a plastic, whereas the 2000 series are strictly just the filters. 7093 are ideal for environments where the filter could be exposed to moisture such as falling rain or spraying water/chemicals, that way the plastic housing protects the filter on the inside. Whereas the 2000 series could get wet and possibly defeat the purpose of the filter itself.

With pancake you easily wet your filter if you're on medical field... Body fluid or else. And this will degrade your pancake quality easily... With plastic cover the filter will splash proof, because intake is from behind...

it looks not been seal around the "filter" you changed, you can see so many gap between the filter you made and the case, this kind video can potentially cause somebody die.

Gaps are not there. It is transparent glue.

@@pediatricsurgdoc at 07:40 , to me , it seems many gap near your right hands ring finger , I mean , you can see how deep the original filter's glue go , this is really not a good demonstration especially to safety gear.

@@pinkcurve I was wondering if that 7093b filter desing is safe, I was afraid the aire would pass from the edges to the bottom of the filter.

@@levenusine5095 there's no gap when factory made the filter , if you really teardown one you will see it's well sealed around whole filter , but it maybe need spacial tool and very high temperature to make that properly , it just impossible make by home tool.
