My new friend Larry at Ocala Car Audio dialed in my windshield a few weeks ago. I originally had Llumar Air Blue 80% on it. I had the windshield replaced due to a major rock chip. This time I had Crystalline 70%.

please guys don't be like this guy. customers like this I kick them out of the shop in a heartbeat. This guy wants BEYOND a good tint job. people you need to understand IT IS NORMAL TO FIND SOME DUST PARTICLES ON EACH AND EVERY WINDOW GETTING TINT PUT ON. THIS GUY IT'S A CUSTOMER NIGHTMARE.

+Obsessed Garage Why you didn't get an athermal windshield instead? It's made from factory to reject like a mirror the IR's and the UV's while giving you a great visibility of outside.

Looks great and alot better protection then 90% crystalline. I hope i would find installer like that. Try 50% color stable on Gt350 windshield, its great shade and i have it!

It does not take 6 to 7 hours to tint a 6 window coupe. It took my county van which has 8 windows including windshield a total of 2 hours....by one guy.

They make a product called soak shield that is a microfiber rope that slips between the windshield and the glass to soak up the water and protect your electronics. That what I use when I do windshields.

I have the same on my front windshield with Suntek CXP 4% on my two front two rear and rear windshield. (I work at my cousin window tint shop in Houston, Executive Tint or Tint Houston)

I went to a shop to have this done and they left air bubbles all over. Now i have to pay someone to rip it off and do it all over again.

Moses Moonsie i had the same issue but the way they fixed it was puncturing a very fine needle in the air bubbles to get them out

It will have bubbles for the first couple days, after a few days the bubbles go by themselves

Hey Matt, what type of tint appears darker than others? I'm looking to do 35% on my car all around but I'm seeing different shades on various cars with 35% tint.

It depends on the brand. I don't think there is a universal scale.

Nice car. What did they charge you for tinting the windshield? I got Suntek Carbon 35 for the sides and the back and that was $249. Living in Miami, obviously it's made a difference, but now I want to do the windshield. However, they quoted me $229 for the windshield with 75 percent. Do you think that's worth doing? It just sounds kinda steep.

I actually shopped around and found a place that will CIR 60 for $160. That's not bad. Then again, the quality of work matters also, but this place has a great reputation. The original place I got the original tints from does wraps, ceramic coating, etc for competition and exotic cars and their customers are really not concerned about costs. Look up First Class Autosports in Miami and you'll see what I'm talking about. It's where you would see a car like yours. Anyway, thanks again!

The 90% on my Raptor doesn't take the edge off the sun as much as I'd like. The 70% is really good. I didn't even notice it when driving in the rain in the Smokies. It is very good.

My favorite is Formula One Pinnacle on the sides and back and Llumar Air Blue 80 on the windshield. Yes, it does take care of the glare. It takes about 3 hours.

Did You ask if it would be easy too tint a windshield before installing it? That's the only way I could do it here in Utah I imagine with the tint laws.

The tint job looks good. take a look at Spectra Photosync tint in the future nothing is touching it!! Crystaline,Huper Optik,llumar,sun tek the list goes on photsync is the best.

photosync has zero long term track record unlike crystalline and some others.Experts are saying photosync loses its ability to darken within just a few years,a gamble at this point to use it.

Your video shows this being applied to a pristine condition Porsche. How practical is this for an everyday car driving in a 4 season climate (rain, sun, ice, snow, etc)? How does this film work if something like a leaf gets on the windshield and the wiper is used?

You must not have finished the video. Tint goes on the inside of the car. He is just cutting and shrinking on the outside.

Yes - I understand. My question remains, how does this film on the outside of the windshield work for an everyday car? Rain, snow, rocks, leaves, windshield wipers, etc. Will this exterior film hold up well? Will wipers work properly? what happens if a leaf gets on windshield and wiper is used? Thanks.

There is no film on the outside. You can't put it on the outside of the car.

where do you get your windshields replaced? am i wrong in saying most dealerships just hire 3rd parties to perform their work? of course any oem windshield replacement is the way to go, but lost on if that's even possible.

Look into spectra photo sync, provides much better clarity and heat rejection than Crystalline.

I really want to do Crystalline 70 on my windshield (currently have 40 all around), but am afraid of it being hazy or visible distortion. I have heard say that it gets really annoying especially at night. Do you have that issue?
