Here at Sun Distributing, we believe that the supplier of the window film should know every aspect of the business. It makes it hard when a tinter or tint shop needs support but their supplier does not know the business from one end to the other. I started as a tinter helper in 1989 and worked my way up to the point of distribution. Along the way I have put together a successful retail tint shop and know every hurdle that a tinter and/or shop owner could face. I believe that there is an extreme value to having a company with our experience in the industry having your back.

There are many helpful apps and tools available, but most software out there are not designed to tackle the specific workflow and challenges that present themselves to tinters. Tint Wiz is a CRM app designed specifically for window tint companies. Book appointments, create proposals, send invoices, schedule jobs, manage tasks, and more.

Glass Aid is a 10 mil thick protective cut resistant strip that is meant to protect the glass from your knife. It’s white color make it easy to see through even the darkest of films. It’s flexible construction allows it to easily be formed around corners and it is heat resistant so it won’t melt during shrinking. Glass Aid is also designed to remove cleanly so you don’t have to worry about leaving adhesive behind when you remove it. This product is perfect for beginners and pros alike!

some of the key things that I see as important from Matt's techniques are, when I'm shrinking, like Matt said, holding the heat gun at a 45 degree angle, and as you heat the film from the corners, watch the reaction of the film to the heat. You will see the fingers turn sideways at the top and bottom; at this point it is safe to use the felt card to push the film down as far as you have seen the fingers go sideways. The next thing to keep in mind when you are shrinking is not to shrink on the sides. If you have fingers on the sides, then push them either to the top or bottom and then shrink them till they turn sideways and push them down with the felt card. Also, when you are done and you cut along the glass aide and you remove the glass aide, remember to touch up a little with the heat gun where needed. Press everything out with the felt card once the glass aide is removed, and make sure everything is laying flat. if there are any little fingers left, then shrink as needed to flatten the film down. The last thing I would point out is to take your time reverse rolling the tint. This is really key that you roll it snuggly as you saw Matt do, and when you are applying it to the inside, be sure to let the liner cling to the back of the film until you make it to the half way point. Also, make sure to line up the film closely before you get too much rolled out; make sure the side and bottom edges are lining up good before you get too much rolled out; it will make the process so much easier! These are things that were big points to me and thought it may be worth mentioning for others! Thanks again Matt! I will continue to support your channel even though I have learned from you already. Thank You!!!

You have already taught me to shrink and reverse roll a windshield from watching your live streams over and over, and it took me 3 tries to get mine right on my truck, but I simply mimic the techniques you use to do mine. I'm very thankful for you taking the time to do videos like this, but also your live streams; because I have learned a lot from watching your live streams, Matt! Thank You so much!!!!!

Is he using the Apex 50% Ultra 2 Mil film? Or Carbon 50%?? I was going to buy carbon 35% for windshields. But he said this stinks better for windshields now I’d like to try this one instead. Carbon is eh on shrinking for me

I've had a question concerning wi dow tinting. Because of the laws where I live i cant tint the whole windshield. Though there's no real limit for a tinted band at the top of the windshield. As ling as police can identify the gender of the driver ( literally the officers told me when I asked). But just having a solid band at the top seems a bit boring. I've been asking myself if it could be possible to die cut a tint and have the die cut design retained on a backing paper to do the install. But I've never seen it done. I think it could be cool to have a sort of gradiens between solid tint and some shapes that shrink down in size as it does down. I figure you guys might know a lot more than I do about the whole industry.

Would you be willing to tint a truck back glass using just black vinyl... I'm curious if it'll even look good for a black out "tint"...

hey bro i have a question, i tinted my windshield with 20% huper optic tint i got on ebay, everytime i would drive, the tint would make me dizzy and give me headaches so i ripped it off. Do you think it was because of the cheap quality of the tint or what can it be? I want to tint my windshield again but i dont want to have to rip it off again because of that. What tint do you recommend to me?

whatever floats your boat...that cliche has been around for at least 50 years. I'm 56, and I know that has been one that has been used since I was a little boy lol. floats your boat, trips your trigger, whatever puts wind in your sail; it's funny how some things just carry over through the decades.

okay, this explains why the windshield costs basically half the price as the rest of the car on its own. This doesn't look fun, lol.

Uh... isn't tinting windshields illegal besides a small strip at top? I guess it may vary by state, but I don't know of any state that allows full tint on windshields. I have been curious of tinting own windows, but I know I wouldn't have the patience for that. But at same token, 400 to 600 bucks for tinting seems ridiculous if I go to professionals.
@fuzzymoto896
@fuzzymoto896 2 года назад
Depends on the state, you should be able to Google it. Matt is in Michigan which I believe is legal. Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona it's legal. And law enforcement everywhere do it because they can.
@DekGT5mad
@DekGT5mad 2 года назад
Have a go and then see if $400-600 still seems ridiculous. You get what you pay for, if you don't care about creases, bubbles, dirt, film failure after 12 mths and distorted vision go get the $20 Walmart tint and slap it on.
@southerntintandautospa5484
@southerntintandautospa5484 2 года назад
I don’t think you will have a problem if you don’t go darker than 30%. Either way most law enforcement stopped harassing people for window tint in the early 2000’s

My whole car windshield included was 480, top of the line ceramic. I feel like there was a 60%ish margin on it, but they will no questions asked for the lifetime of the tint job fix it. You gotta bake that into the price, cause warranty work is time spent not making money. And I think the good stuff is like 200-300 bucks a roll. And you need to buy tools, I think you'll end up breaking even, and if anything goes wrong, youre the warranty. Buy it nice, or buy it twice. it's 480 well spent though. I live in Florida, and I can leave my car outside no shade all day. And not walk in to a oven. I used to have to use a towel to grab the wheel, turn the car on, run the AC for 15 minutes, then go. Should've got remote start, but chip shortages and bear market..got the best car I could.
