I know you posted this 9 years ago, but it is still very relevant. It was extremely helpful in understanding the rail adapters and how to install and use them. Thank you for taking the time to make and post this video.
One simple trick if u want to keep your arc rail adapter clicked in unscrew the arc rail adapter and put a Bungie under the metal and screw it back on and u don’t have to worry about it popping out
Thanks ! It was a great help to work on my Peltor Comtac Mount. Quite hard at first to mount the headset on the ARC Rails Adapters. After many tries, I use a simple method. I put the two pieces in place and use a Gerber multitool to clip them together. Really simple and fast....
funny shit.. turned my scanner on....good vid man.....got my level III ballistic helmet coming in a few days and gonna install some howard lights on it....
Is there a difference between doing it this way and simply taking the headset straight off the prongs (when it comes to wear and tear, risk of breaking anything, etc.)
hi buddy i have z tac comtac II, recently i bought arc ops core helmet adapter but i have a problem with microphone, its not fully seated in microphone place of adapter. I mean its falling, i tried to push it but seems does not work. Unhappily also i accidently i broke my original microphone holder rode so i dont have any idea what should i do ?
ok ...man please tell me where you got all this commo systems at ? where did you buy it from so I can purchase been looking everywhere but man so many out there everyone is the best by there standards . so can you help me out ?
Im so confused. I bought a pair of adapters but they only work when the long portion of that adapters are at opposite end of each other and when the boom mic adapter side is on the side where the boom mic plugs in. idk if i got a faulty pair, please help!!!!
So this is the Aramid version of the FMA Maritime, right? Have you ever tried to put these on the ABS plastic version of the FMA Maritime? How do you think, will they fit without wobbling or are there any chances they won't?
+LightAfterNight That's what I thought, they wouldn't make different one for the Aramid version, but on the other hand - nothing surprises me anymore in airsoft so I wanted to be sure. Thanks for the answer.
Was getting a little hung up trying to remove the mic. I just took the earcup off the hangar and then pulled it apart a little harder. Word for the wise: DON'T try to pry anything in there. You're not going to damage the peg, but it's not going to look as pretty
How are the TRI repro's? I owned two pairs of Element ones and they both died on me. I don't play enough to justify the purchase of the real deal Comtac's either.
The TRI repros are good for a starting headset, the noise amplification is OK at best, but they have saved my ears more then just a few times in CQB places. I would take the TRI ones over the Element or Z-Tac ones any day.
I still think its so funny that after all these years this is the video with the most attention. Its because EVERYONE struggles to put these things on hahaha!!
Eric Valdez I never cut the leather band on mine. I actually just stowed it under the pads so that if I did decide to run the headset plain, it would still have the leather sheath option. So it depends on how you break down the headset to put on the arc adapters
Yes. The comtacs are designed to be worn under a helmet. Mine fit under my ACH just fine. With over the ear helmets, its still possible. The benefit of the setup in the video is you can pop the cups off your head and cool off while still hearing comms. Allows you to stay under night vision too.
so I installed a 3m peltor adapters, however in the locked down position the peltors do not fit me tightly. how do you tighten it, to make the arms push inwards more?
+David Canlas I have never heard that problem before unless you got ripped off or bought the fake ones as I had that problem with the FMA ones I owned.
Yes I am, but some other things are taking my money away. The LUX, replacing the manta with a real one, and a cover will be the final pieces of the helmet.
TFS - Swedish Airsoft Team I honestly cant remember. Sorry. Just google it. You will find them for around 60$ and WELL worth it over the shitty FMA ones.
Thanks a lot man! I've been conflicted about what helmet headset combo i should buy. This looks easy enough. And looks amazing as well. I just hope I can get these things in from EU since I live there. The import tax from stuff outside EU is...expansive to say the least.
