Ty for bringing this in the forefront. I'm always looking into learning more.i started at 5 with my grandpa who allowed me to sort the coins like,penny,nickle,dime,quarter. After that he taught me mint Mark's. Then I got to sort coins at 8yrs to sort coins by mint Mark's as well as denomination.

I've examined and weighed nearly 40, 1982 pennies, since I started collecting 6 months ago. This morning I found a small date, weighing 3.08g, can I really be that lucky? I have pics, if you're interested in taking a look.

Why do people focus on the 8? The shape of the 2 is different between the large and the small. It's the easiest way to spot it quickly.

I thought this was worth another comment. I just looked on Ebay and see several raw 1982 Small Date Zinc cents listed for high prices. I opened three of them and in all three cases, the seller has ZERO transactions. one claims to be a DDR for $1000, the letters are shaped differently than the video, etc., and I hate to make fun of somebody but the username Rob Money with a zero after it seems like a deterrent to me. why not 'I Steal"? ha...

Hi shaun, that 82 d small date zinc, (ddr ddo possible d/d and tilted memorial) I have one, just discovered it yesterday in my coins. I might need some advice on this and also have set of 3 43 p,s,d lines that are uncirculated and in a slab ( I think that's what you call it). Hey Shawn those 1982 sm 2.5g pennies, I think I have 15 of them, and two of them look like the ones you’re showing on tonight show, the rest are shiny as the day they were made , however I don’t know much about the numismatic business, because I’m one of those who started to collect during COVID , that’s why I watch your show.

Best way to tell an 82 small date from a large date is look at the long line of the 2 , the small date 2 looks more like a question mark "?" where as the large date it looks a straight slash mark "/ " .

I think that I have one of these. I just got started collecting but I have one that looks just like the one pictured. The e and r in liberty are close. Dang I am gonna buy a magnifying asap!. I have about 20 of these coins total but some are brown. I have 2 Denver coins 1982 and a bunch that look red.

Found a 1982 large date DDR last month. I also found the most interesting 1982 small date penny a month ago which looks like there could be a pre die crack on the obverse of the coin running horizontal, very odd and never seen anything like it. It's in very good red condition.

Being offered is a large lot of 50 ( fifty) 1982 pennies found in pocket change. Almost all I would grade fine/extra fine and 3 retained some gloss and I would grade AU 57-59. $25,000 OBO

Lot 4 1958 pennies, 3 with no mint marks and 1 with a “d” on the obverse The 1958 with a little gloss left is clearly a “DDO on the DATE and on the reverse , the letters “ONE CENT” is much thicker than normal. The 1958 penny that sold for over a million dollars in January of this year, was probably normal because if it was thicker than normal the auction house would have noted and displayed it. I would say that the condition of these pennies are at least fine/extra fine and -as mentioned one retains a little of of its original gloss. Starting bid: $1,500

my 1982 SD is better looking copper; it looks more like a leather RB [reddish than that]; wow, i thought that they are not looking for it anymore. Ups maybe this is a LDate. Can they differentiate it by weight?

Not sure why dealers explain how to differentiate 82 lg date from the sm date the same way. It's vague and confusing. There is a much easier and foolproof way. On the large date, the 2 openings in the 8 are close to the same size. On the sm date the top opening is less than half the size of the bottom opening. I can spot the sm date from across the room... Ok. Slight exaggeration, but you get the idea.

I found a very interesting 1970 yesterday. D has been repunched and so it seems the date, all the lettering on front appears doubled slightly, a partial letter is sticking out from under Lincoln’s chin that has been apparently covered or from being re-stamped, in between United and States there is an extra mint or part of the tail of the S that can be seen still. I have never seen one like this yet. I searched 1970 and other ones for that year with only minor faults with the D from being struck over with the large over small d

Sean regarding tier 1982 double die Lincoln sent Penny could you tell me do you have a scales and where can I get a scale of money weight scale as well as your 10 times micro magnifier I have one but it’s quite large and it has some like rough edges and I taped it up and it keeps coming through and cuts my hand. I believe I have some of these and the dates are definitely larger and smaller. Is that something that stood out when I was watching and looking at the coins. Anymore I don’t even spend my coin I break a dollar bill the coin goes into a jar until I look and look at it. But I don’t have some of the testers and things like this that you need and the weights of the coins I don’t have this little scale that you use I’d greatly appreciate if I could find one And see how much they are. I’ve referred several people to you like my girlfriend had some other people that want to know about coins. I think I have one of these. I found 4 1982 coins 1 is small date the other 3 are large date 2 Denver 1 is Philly 1 of the Denver weights is 3.1 grams the other 3 coins weight 2.5 grams. The stinker is the 3 gram coin has damage on the reverse

Today I found a 1982 penny with no mint mark I believe it's a large date. Clearly there's an error on it. I'm not a coin collector however this one stuck my interest.
