The German Fallschirmjäger were generally considered even more elite than any of the Waffen-SS Divisions and were extremely combat-hardened troops throughout the war. Quite impressive fact to add to their legacy is that most of them were rejected for different jobs in the Wehrmacht and German Army. Meaning dudes with low rating (when you enlist you have to do tasks and are then ranked acording to what you did) or leftovers were chosen for the roles (either too big, to small, etc.) The German High Command said ofcourse that you cant just waste thousand of men by not letting them fight so most off these guys were sent to the Fallschirmjäger. Add insult to injury for the most part (when they were still used as actual Paratroopers) they had anything but fitting equipment for the task. For the most part they got what they could find, thus creating a large variety of weapons and uniforms aswell as alot of old guns until they got more attention from the high commans. I think only in '44 or '45 they actually got their own UNIform :D...and still kicked ass and earned their name. Quite the inpressive bunch. And ofcourse solely the best automatic weapon was made for them too so theres that. :D
that FG42 mp44 and Mg42 unit with anti tank grenades... well i guess the divisions with begleit pioneers will be available for turnaments now... as every one will ban this.
I'm worry about the fact that this division plays pretty much like 28. Jäger, but almost better in every aspect. Sure the Jäger has cost effective jager infantry, and more choices for heavy artillery, but that's it. Let's compare this: Good recon, much better elite infantry and still some good cheap infantry, bad tanks but still comparable to the Jäger, much better AT with those really good short range choices, better AA at least for the slot, no good heavy artillery but still some useful call in, good air tab with bomb or AT support. The 28. Jäger just seems to be lackluster compare to 3rd Fallschirmjäger in my opinion. It's pretty sad since the Jäger was one of the first division in SD2, and being buffed but still not very competent to those newer divisions, both Ally side and Axis side. Any suggestion for this?
I think the 28th Jager has recieved some significant buffs since release. 3rd Fallschirmjager can really suffer from not having cheap efficient infantry options.
The 3rd Falls is very powerful in urban and forest fighting. I held back a Soviet tank BG (IS2s) and a 6th British player alone. The British and Soviet infantries pretty much get massarce if they attempted to advance without artillery cover. Meanwhile, any of their tanks that push into the town would get taken out by the amazing small ATs and the recon AT infantry squad. When I get push back, I just being in the naplam bomber to stun the enemy infantry and rush in my reinforcements. The AT planes ensured no enemy tanks can push me on the open fields to my flanks.
@@VulcanHDGaming The FMG does run out of ammo fast. As for the 100 range, I used the Falls Pioneers. The HE grenade pretty much almost instant stun Soviet submachine squads. The Falls do suffer from costs, but their performence can make up the cost differences. Had 2 3-stars Jager easily hold back 5-6 standard Allied/Soviet rifles. The 2 MG42s are the real damage dealer. However, artillery is a great counter to the 3rd Falls. I use the 2nd to great effective against the 3rd with the M2 mortar truck and the rocket truck.
I notice you NEVER seem to take any veteran armored or infantry, why is that ? Considering the boost to health, and stats. I always take maxed out armored, a mix of green infantry ( for numbers) and maxed out infantry and my planes are also always maxed out. I noticed my green planes die often, but my maxed out planes rarely die. Any thoughts from anyone here on that ?
This is far from perfect, I haven't had much chance to mess around with veterancy. I don't believe veteran planes get a health buff anyway. Also, for other units, I rely on leaders to give them veterancy.
PAK 41 Gerlich looks great, but take it over the PAK 38 50mm? PAK 38 has 4X APCR, more health, same rate of fire, more range and damage. Yes, penetration and accuracy is better on the Gerlich, but at 1000m range - in town or forest battles, where the Gerlich is made for - the PAK 38 should still perform better AND can still can shot targets at 1200m range for example. For only 10 points more. Is there something i overlook??
Drives me crazy dropping a 2000 lb bomb on the top of a priest tank of all things and seeing the MG gunner crew just looking like they worked in a coal mine and still fighting.
@@VulcanHDGaming Aye, single model for use both in battlegroup view and maps. Less work for dev team, faster and cheaper. But I would like to see a high quality models in bg view, more details above "potato mode" and without some inaccuracies in scaling. Maybe in next game they will do this, it would be nice.
