17k Miles and this truck has been nothing but problems! Toyota WILL not warranty common issues because of the lift kit but I was having these rumble issues from 68-75 mph during acceleration before my lift was installed. The dealer I called about the issue "Damian Lillard Toyota" in McMinnville oregon told me its a new truck and that is common, it will work itself out. Being that they did not notate that I was having that issue I am now stuck having to pay for these repairs myself. I really love everything about the truck, but it has not been reliable. I'd love to be able to come to an agreement with toyota that will allow me to get a well built car/suv/truck from japan in place of this problematic Tundra. Now Precision Toyota of tucson AZ will not warranty the parts even though its a known common problem for these trucks. Passing the buck to the lift kit. ‪@toyotausa‬

I paid 56k for a brand new 2017 Tundra crew max sr-5 with a 6" lift, and with custom leather interior. Now 7 years latter and 63K miles on it. The sun has been hard on the paint and its in the sun everyday in Arizona. I have 15k budget to put a new interior, paint job and bits like new trim pieces. Essentially my goal for it to look and run brand new. I have zero issue with my truck. I do mean zero, except from natural ageing and road use. I have look at Toyotas new trucks. Not interested at all!. I believe a good detail job will save me 25k from not buying a new Tundra and get me another 7 years of happiness.

I keep seeing videos like this lately, from various RU-vidrs talking about problems with the new Tundra. I was going to get one, too, but didn't like several aspects of their redesign, as well as the high prices and dealership markups. I decided to get a new Nissan Titan at a discount and it's been good. Seeing videos like this help confirm to me that I made a good choice. For what it's worth, we have a Toyota Highlander, and it has some issue with the microphone not working now, which makes the radio stop working when it happens, and reportedly it's because we haven't subscribed to the SOS service. Like, seriously Toyota?

Please explain to me the train of thought You know them well You're not supposed to buy a new car as soon as of the production line You have to give it a couple years for them to work out the kinks I've been talking about this for the past couple years I got Lexus GX 2016 I did not buy it in 2014 or 13 when it came out I waited a couple years I always do that with all my cars. Yes always get a brand new car and keep it as long as you can however never get a brand new car from redesign cycle everybody knows that come on
@glow4417
@glow4417 2 месяца назад
Well people need a car and figure a new redesign by Toyota will still be OK. But the truth is even Toyota redesigns have issues. Ideally want to wait until the 4th year of a new model or later. But it looks like Tundra might not be reliable this entire generation or past 4 years in.

The 2nd gen and 3rd gen Tacoma was made in Mexico, too. Well, a few 2nd and 3rd gen's were made in the United States. The overall quality wasn't great, but bothe the 1gr-fe and 2gr-fks were very reliable v6 engines. Both engines were made in Huntsville, Alabam, the new 4-cylinder in the Tacoma and the V6 and the tundra are both made in Alabama. I believe Toyota did a pretty good job with the T24A-FTS 4 cylinder that's in the new Tacoma, it's old school in many ways. The problem with the new Tacoma is the cheap down on the interior and are asking far too much for the truck. The V35A-FTS in the Tundra is an unmitigated mess. Toyota went with unproven high-tech everywhere ant it's a total failure.

Well, thanks for reminding me. I’m just so hell-bent up on these four runners with the four cylinder now and listening to all the problems the tundra has since they converted over to the new model disappointed anyway appreciate you bringing that up.

Sounds like you had a 💩dealership which unfortunately is too common these days. They didn’t want to eat the warranty repair rate.

Once they started being built in North America the brand went down. Sorry to say that but it's the truth. Toyota is putting the final nail in their coffin!

This 3rd Gen Tundra has been problematic since it rolled off the line..Do your research! I’m sure you paid a mark up on a already overpriced garbage truck.. Never Mod A New Vehicle until it’s out of warranty!! 🙄
