I freaking love Kevin. Every time anyone gets praised, he's just standing there, grinning for them, and I am all about that.

Bahaha the other group's are dead serious and Scott's like "maybe we'll work hard idk lol."

I love how in this every one is all serious and "we love the 60's" and Penatonix is just gooffing off and all"we never sing this style".

I don't think Avi got enough credit throughout this show.. Honestly the other ones are great singers, but.. His vocal range, and his pitch perfect low bass notes... He's insanely talented!

Is no one going to mention the scream thing Scott did after Kevin's flugal horn thing? It's my fave

at 7:26 when I heard avi I literally hugged my laptop... I have an obsession with him... So polite avi was holding his hands behind his back and he sort of bowed when the judge said his name, and dat smile... don't even get me started :D

Why does when I actually like someone that is not an anime he's 1. Far from me 2. Older than me 3. Gay But dang. Scott's voice is just... 😍😍😍

I'm actually glad I don't know the originals to any of their cover songs because that way I can listen to it unprejudiced.

I love that the judges actually give Kevin and Avi credit... They deserve it!

A couple reasons why I'm in love with every single member of this band: Avi's hips don't lie. Kirstie and her adorable little dances. Scott's voice! Kevin's cute lil' smile. Mitch's giggle and his confidence.

I never saw the show when it first aired, but watching the intro in this video, it's very plain that Pentatonix is leagues ahead of the competition

This is like Avi was just learning the power of his hips, and now he's completely mastered them. :D

I like how where most basses might have trouble moving while singing, Avi almost has to move. Like, seriously it's hard to find a video with Avi where he ISN'T swinging his hips or bouncing even if most of them are holding relatively still.

You can see in Scott's shoulders how uncomfortable he is with singing this song when it starts, and while he's still tense at the end, it's more relaxed than it was at the beginning. Like, if Scott is uncomfortable singing something, you can always see it in his shoulders during this competition.

Seen this a thousand times, just noticed Avi taking over the vocal percussion when Kevin took the horn solo.

That transition between Mitch and Kevin on the beatbox is seamless. Amazing.

The Pentatonix sound is so full and vibrant. No other group, not even those 16-member groups, come close to the amazingly deep sound that these guys have.

It's amazing how unique this song is under their command. I can't tell which I like better, the original or this, and they're both so different.

Anybody else here old enough to remember both "Sly and the Family Stone" AND "The Rolling Stones"? I ask because when Sean said they gave it a "Stone groove" I immediately thought of "Sly and the Family Stone". anyone else think that? And, Yes. Pentaholics exist across several generations! My teenager, 3 adult children and moi! Oh, I almost forgot my mother (70's) and grandson (2). They are that good!!!

Do they do any bad performances? Seriously. Love them so freaking much!

This is honestly probably my favorite song of PTX's from the sing off. I listen to this when I'm feeling down. It's so happy and so well arranged... I just love it.

I always keep going back to the sing offs, at the very least JUST for the goof off in the beginning xD the contrast between "super serious mode" to "I mean maybe" is just... the best

Having seen Janis do this in person . . . well, I do LOVE the PTX, but this just makes me want to go listen to her version instead. Plus, AVI should have been the lead singer on this one. B+. But what do I know anyway. :-)

I enjoy listening to everything this group sings. Being a senior citizen, I am not familiar with the covers they pick, so I had to search out the originals. And I have to say, I love the way Pentatonix arranges the songs, and as Sara says...."make it your own"!

This is a bit late to comment (ptx marathon has overtaken me) but while everyone is all like, "whoa kev, that horn" I'm over here like "mitch beat boxing while my man kev does horn is perfection". wish he got recondition for that on the show

It's mind-boggling enough that PTX came into The Sing-Off with only 5 members (instead of the 8-16 that most other groups had). In retrospect, do all of us appreciate the cojones they show at 3:24 by dropping Kirstie and Scott and doing the bridge with only three voices?

I wonder how Janice would have covered this song if Pentatonix had sung the original version in 1967 instead of Erma Franklin?
