Irony of this scene now when it comes to season 4 Elena is a vampire and guess who taught her how to be one DAMON .... I love how realistic damon is , how he embraces the fact he is a vampire and how he is always blunt and honest and how he continually even in season 4 is the only person who gets thru to her that this is who she is now and to not be ashamed of it but to embrace it ...
The person that writes for Damon is a GENIUS!!! I mean every scene with him is sooo good and juicy, of course it has a lot to do with the gorgeousness of Ian Somerhalder, but still Damon has the best lines!!
I love this Delena clip! I've watched the fight scenes soooo many times. Firstly, because fighting with Damon is like foreplay for Elena, lol. And secondly, since Stefan's back...and she's currently pissed at Damon, fighting with Damon is the only way she can show any passion towards him without being obvious that that's what she's doing. Of course Damon doesn't get that bc, well, he's a guy, lol, and he's been burned by Elena like a zillion times. For him, it's better to just assume the worst.
I love that Damon is True to himself and doesn't hide anything from Elena to look "good". When he said "I didn't LET him, I MADE him" so yes, that my friends is the awesome Damon who doesn't make up shit for anyone to like/love him. This is why I love Damon. It's like take it or leave it, I will not change. This is who and what I do.
EVERYTHING, whenever she noticed the brothers trying to sacrifice themselves she took control of the situation and tried to get herself killed the save her family. Also she's really good at controlling her thirst for blood
Even though I roll my eyes everytime she says stuff like this, to be honest I just feel kind of sorry for her. She's in denial and she just doesn't know how to deal with it.

I will never understand why Elena made that comment of "maybe you're not the best person to be teaching him self control". Damon actually has great self-control, he switches between blood bags and humans as he wants, and yes, he has killed people, but Stefan is sooooooo very bad at self-control in comparison to Damon. Like Damon points out in 4x17 when we are watching the flashback between Lexy and Damon, he literally says "You thought I was like Stefan? A wounded little bird you could nurse back to health? But he's a victim, I choose to be this way". Damon chooses to feed off of people, he's never done the animal diet because he chooses not to. He also helped Elena a lot after she turned with her self-control and how to find joy in her new life (still upset that Stefan didn't save her!!!). Like when Elena was losing it in 4x3 while feeding on Matt and Damon pulled her off of him, compelled him to forget what happened, and sent him home. Damon doesn't get enough credit sometimes, he didn't have Lexy or Stefan to help him when he was a new vampire and had to learn how to cope with what Stefan had done to him and learn how to be a vampire all on his own.
Damon doesn't even vamp-out over the sight of blood. imo, he's the only one that can actually teach vampires how to control their bloodlust, since he's the only vampire that feeds on humans and stops before killing them. He chooses when to stop. There's no snatch-eat-erase with Stefan. He let Amber go, then intended to take every last drop. Even though Damon wants to taste Elena's blood, he won't even drink it out of a blood bag without her consent. The same while suffering werewolf toxin. Not even Rose could control her bloodlust when she suffered, but Damon's like... whatever. His issues are emotional issues. The best way to get him to vamp-out is piss him off. Then he's like a lit stick of dynamite. I don't even consider Caroline able to teach vampires how to control their bloodlust, since she feeds from blood bags. Hard to say how she'd be if she fed straight from the vein.
I agree. Elena should know by now that Damon has amazing control when it comes to blood...but I think she just is still bothered by the fact that Damon and Rebekah slept together. >:] I don't think she knows how much she hurt Damon before that happened at the ball w/ what she said. She doesn't know that Damon snapped Kol's neck to save Matt, she thinks he just lashed out impulsively. Honestly if Elena was around during convos b/w Damon & Stefan too, she would start to see things SO differently.
Actually I think the most unrealistic part of the show is that Elena hasn't broken down yet. There has to be some scene where she just...screams and cries or something because tbh her life is like a downward spiral and the only thing that holds her up is being surrounded by the most awesome of awesomest people :P I know what you mean though, she's always so calm and it's annoying yet refreshing to actually see her have some personality and show her feelings, bad or good

For people confused on Elena's behavior in this clip, I think she doesn't mean Damon's control with blood, but that she means how Damon slept with Rebekah. It still bothers her and she's frustrated about what feelings she has for Damon because she's scared the most of being like Katherine. Just be patient people...I have a good feeling we'll get some good stuff for DE in the next episodes. Since S1, Elena slowly but surely, started to love him. In a way it's always been Damon. He's her rock.
it's so hard to ship delena when Elena is being like this to Damon! like why!!he had done nothing wrong and still she have to give him her pissed off look! last time I check SHE is the one who crushed his heart!! she is sweet to every single person in the town EXCEPT to him why? i don't know why the writer are making her hate able! i was expecting an apology from her after 3x14 but off course it didn't happened! and i think she'll never will! so I’m not expecting anything form next epi

I think Elena does know how much she hurt Damon before that happened at the ball with what she said. Remember that Elena said "No, I didn't meant that..." after she saw the "traumatizing" expression on Damon's face after she said that. I'm also kind of pissed that Matt didn't tell Elena (assuming Matt knew) that Damon saved his life by fending off and snapping Kol's neck. It would clear up some of all this misunderstanding between Damon and Elena lol.
Damon does have self-control, blood isn't an issue for him, he can control himself so yes Elena he is the perfect person to teach stefan self-control not you!! She gave him little amounts every single day and guess what he fell off the wagon again! She's always saying that she knows him better than anyone but she doesn't really, Damon does!
Goodnes Ian looked so GORGEOUS in this scene... I had to rewind over and over when it aired because he was so beautiful i couldn't even pay attention to what they were talking about.
"He was able to manage when he was drinking my blood, small amounts every single day" Sure Elena, and then he turned into a Ripper. Perfect management there. p.s. and only Damon could say 'unicorns' and still sound badass :D
@lia49 it's too bad you feel that way because I honestly think this episode was amazing. Alaric was the scene stealer throughout it, he was quite scary. Also, Damon was shirtless...need I go on?
I have a feeling the "self-control" comment Elena made HAS to be about him sleeping with Rebekah...not his ability to control his bloodlust. She looked sooooo bitter when she said it!
@SavannahMcHallister Elena is just mad and jealous because Damon slept with Rebecca but she's using Stefan as an excuse...all the self control thing points that out...at least that's what I think
tbh this is good that elena is being all mad at damon because then when damon almost dies in the next episode she will realise how wrong and mean she has been all along to damon and realise how much she truly loves him!
Elena always has a go at Damon the minute it looks like He and Stefan start to try fix their relationship .its like she is jealous of Damon the minute it looks like Stefan is Spending time with Damon rather than with her. And she needs to get a clue Stefan is not her puppy ,he is a vampire who needs to drink human blood to servive.And who the hell does she think she is thinking Damon doesn' t whats best for his little brother. Damon Is the only one who's truly in no danger from ripper stefan .
Elena gets most of her understanding when she becomes a vampire. That's why she claims Damon isn't the best one to be teaching Stefan self-control, when he actually is. Until she gets that understanding, Elena assumes a lot. Her real problem is differentiating their self-control issues. Stefan has a problem with blood, so Damon is the one who helps her to feed. Damon has a problem with emotions, so Stefan is the one to help her after Damon gets her to turn it back on. Damon doesn't sugarcoat. Elena is still mad at Damon for sleeping with Rebekah, so she's giving him more attitude than usual. I love their fights. Damon's emotions are the very reason he has the most passionate lines in the show. He can't very well take his emotions in moderation like they do their blood intake. They're magnified. That's why he snapped Kol's neck and slept with Rebekah. 3x19 changes everything.
Given that I never even wanted Delena to kiss before Stefan came back and Elena could sort out her feelings re:their relationship, I am so happy with where we are right now. Stefan and Elena need to figure out what's between them before Delena have a chance in hell at being together successfully. Stefan's held Delena emotionally hostage and paralyzed all season.
Is it just me or do anyone else feel a really strong urge to punch Elena in this scene?!! Seriously! What is her problem?!! I really love Damon and how he tells it like it is :) I hope her attitude changes towards him soon sheesh! Lol :)
Ideally, I want Stefan and Elena to be almost back together before she realizes that it can't happen because of how they've both changed AND her feelings for Damon.
I get that not everybody enjoys Delena fighting like I do, but better in S2? Really? I mean, think about the first half of the season. Delena were AMAZING.
yeah, she like, totally put the blame, ALL THE BLAME, on damon. she just jumps to conclusions, she didn't even know what happened for real and why. my hand was seriously twitching in this scene! obvs she can't face her feelings for him so has to act like she can't stand him. by the time she does, too late elena we already hate you! lol. and she always says 'what is wrong with you?' no elena, what is wrong with YOU?
I think if they talk about anything else other than Stefan, they will distance themselves from each other even more or get more physical with each other than they are otherwise comfortable with.
Despite what everyone says about this scene...it was a good way of interpreting later how Elena is so wrong about her views. I think later in the scene when Stefan was taking care of Meredith, Elena realized 2 things from this scene. One, she was wrong about Stefan being able to live and continually delude himself on animal blood...and two, she was wrong about Damon not being the best for Stefan's self-control. Elena witnessed how much Stefan improved around Meredith. Just my take.

Ever notice how Damon ALWAYS seems to echo the sentiments and thoughts of the viewers of this show? When he was saying 'Oh of course I should have thought we were talking about Stefan' and 'back when you two were in love and it was all rainbows and unicorns' this was EXACTLY what a lot of people are probably thinking at this point. Elena needs to wake up and grow up. I don't like how they're making Elena's character be hated by so many.
As damon told elena in 3x14, "I'm mad at u because i luv u." Well, it appears that elena is mad at damon because he made stefan drink human blood, but in reality she's so pissed at him because she loves him and doesn't want to face her feelings.
Came here after reading a comment that Stefan and Elena don't need Damon and that he can control his blood urges because of Elena. hahaha, ha.. I think Damon knows a little more about blood control than Elena thinks she does.

Damon and Elena need to give their love a shot!! Stefan's time has passed -- plus he is so depressing and glum.. Damon is funny, caring, and SEXY! step aside stefan... IT'S DAMON TIME!!!!! :)
