By now you know all about the Good Faith Estimate part of the No Surprises Act.
(If not, see my prior video on GFE here: • The Importance of GFEs... )
Starting January 1, 2022, all physician offices need to put it into effect, paying particular attention to The Good Faith Estimate (GFE) portion of the Act.
On April 5, 2022, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued new guidance on how to comply with the rule. It answers some of the most frequently asked questions from my members, as well as helps providers comply with the more frustrating provisions of the rule.

I went to an ankle doctor and had Medicaid and asked him before any brace or Medical crutches were given to please contact the insurance phone # on my card. He left for 20 minutes, cause back and said they’d cover it in full. I told him before if they didn’t cover it in full I didn’t want the brace or crutches. However after o got it a month later o got a bill! I called my insurance and they said the doctor never called them or checked with them on that day! He knew I had a bipolar disorder and this was my first independent doctors visit and lied to me because I have a disability. Do I contact a specific f office for this false information he gave me and if so can I file a complaint for discrimination?
