Might be a gaming stone. I found something similar in South Carolina near the Pee Dee River. Mine was about the same size, but the edges were flatter, like a biscut.

Thanks brother. I have a assortment of game balls discs etc. to have them and to know the game is a impossible task since all real knowledge of the games is gone. I know of only 1 game it is caLLed CHUNKY. the rules have been lost over time and purpose was target skills. All other knowledge has gone. Only other games known are a few from the woodland era so that leaved 10.000 years and more games and lifestyles gone no one knows anything about. And if they tell you different there full of it. lol I always see these people giving talks on how it was..... that is all theroy no facts just good guesses. lol Thanks for watching. Thats why I don't just jump up and name a stone. 👍👍💤

Cool piece my Friend, I found a piece very similar a couple years ago. Perfect smooth all over. Not sure of its purpose, but feel it was something special to someone. Found it at my CowTrail Dig. Thanks for sharing...👍

Thanks brother. Yep I actually find a lot of these this one was video worthy. They used all kinds of rocks all they had you know what we as colectors look for is visible worked stone. That rock has been altered the cortex has been ground off it was heat treated and there is 2 small pecked divits on 2 opposing sides. sure it is a hammerstone right now......... soon it may turn into a orange slice....... then into a fine knife or... lol see how it happens. Thanks brother for watching.👍👍💤

Thanks brother I have found many kinda like this one except broken in half or just slivers of. My thoughts are they cleaned it up by heating it then ground the cortex off the rock how it got the red color. Inside it will be a different color. They have started a divet on two sides by pecking. I believe it is for traction when they held it for use. I would say it was a hammerstone. Thanks for watching.👍👍💤
