This is the 4-7-8 breathing technique, also known as the "Relaxing Breath".
Try my app Pocket Breath Coach: pocketbreathcoach.com
The 4 7 8 method has helped many people to relieve anxiety and fall asleep at night.
The breathing technique is performed by inhaling for 4 seconds, holding for 7 seconds, and exhaling for 8 seconds.
It was made popular by Dr. Andrew Weil. Thanks to him for sharing it.
It was shown in a recent study to relieve anxiety for patients after surgery: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36480...
For better anxiety relief and relaxation, try the following:
Inhale through your nose, and exhale through your mouth like you're blowing out a candle.
Relax your shoulders as you exhale, and maintain the relaxation during the inhale and hold.

This is a life-changing video. The 4-7-8 takes a while to really reach its maximum potential. It works if you do it, but if you do it every day, it gets better. Eventually it has a lasting effect. I did it for about a month before I experienced that 'lasting effect'. The only thing I would add is to focused on the breathing. No thinking; just mediate on the 4-7- 8 breathing.

This REALLY worked for me!!! I have a Dario BP machine & my blood pressure was extremely high so I came here & searched on yt. After like 3 mins I re-took my bp and it was considerably lower. I kept doing the exercises until my dr appt same morning and it kept going down. My initial bp was 153/102. It went down to 118/80.

Thank you. I plan to start uploading regularly again very soon. Right now I'm finishing up a mobile app that will give a lot of customization to these breathing exercises. Are there any video topics or breathing exercises you'd like to see from my channel?

At first i noticed my heart beat faster an it felt uncomfortable but if your heart rate is 118 or above its gonna feel uncomfortable at first because yoyr heart has besb rapid for so long irs trying to figure out what your doing. Once it figures it out it gets more comfortable an starts working. Mine went from 119 to 96 in one take

I can’t say for sure. Does 4-7-8 usually make you feel anxious or just this video?

@@jpage99999 4 sec no inhale may be to little for who have anxiety. Try to meditate on your own rhythm to calm down.

Anxiety is attacking. Really no joke, anxiety is also force. When u try to get rid of it, it attacks u because it's very fond of u and all anXious person's 😭🤔😎

Easy to explain: because you weren’t used to this particular technique, you are hyperventilating- you lowered your carbon dioxide levels in your blood.. leading to dizziness, tingling in the fingers and toes, and lightheadedness. It’s just a sign that your cardiovascular system and lungs are a little bit out of condition. This can be rectified though with some exercise and deep breathing exercises. ❤
