To answer your question bro, chinese food in Croatia is almost identical to it's american counterpart because it tries to copy it and it mostly succeds, serbian chinese food is the same. I think it comes down to westernized chinese food they like to make. I ate real chinese food in china and the biggest difference is they like to add more chilli, and in this province I've been to, Yunnan, often times they like to make it both sour and spicy, numbing flavour is also very popular. Westernized chinese food is better hands down.

The black bean noodle is very different from the original chinese dish. The original one is almost sweet and sour flavor, not black bean sauce. The color of the sauce is also orangey
you can request the tangsuyuk sauce on the side if you are a dipper type person. jajjangmein is actually based off real chinese dish zhajiangmian, unlike most american chinese food thats just devolved so far from its origin or wholly made up like general tso chicken which is taiwanese originally.
Jajangmyeon is Korean-chinese, not Korean. So much people call it “korean”, but to be honest if you had to choose to only call it korean or Chinese, “Chinese” would make more sense, since both dishes, the original zhajiangmian, and also the other version, jajangmyeon, were both invented by the Chinese. Jajangmyeon is invented by Chinese immigrants who moved to korea. At first the original wasn’t popular, so the Chinese immigrants changed it up a little (mainly the sauce) to suit korean tastes.

In case you didn't know. Jajangmyeon (black bean sauce noodle) is a Korean style Chinese dish because its origins are Chinese. The Chinese dish is called zhajiangmian which sounds like jajangmyeon.

i love eating the sweet and sour pork when its been sitting in that pippin hot sauce for a good minute before it actually turns soggy. You just gotta time it right with how you want to eat it or just dip it if u don't want to deal with the hassle.

You know, as you describe the noodles and sauce, it reminds me of mole (accent on the o), used in Mexican food. It has a very complex taste due to having lots and lots of ingredients including chocolate.

I’m from Germany and Right now im just making a stop in Austria on my way back from Holiday in Croatia. And on my whole trip I did not see one chinese Restaurant. Seems like it‘s not a big thing there.
Black bean sauce is amazing when I was a little kid our parents used to drive us into the city all the time straight to Chinatown and I would get shrimp with black bean sauce one restaurant specifically so if you ever go to NYC: and want to get some amazing Chinese food in Chinatown go to Hung Fat or Wo Hop!
