Happy Sunday everyone! I have lots to share and I've linked to everything in the description box, but I'm going to link to it here as well to make it easy. In regards to my 'quiet rebellion' tee, the term 'rebellion' here is simply a nod to the importance of slow fashion over fast and handmade craftsmanship and quality over mass-produced. Of course, it can mean whatever you want it to mean. ❤ The Quiet Rebellion Tee: www.woolneedleshands.com/merch/p/quiet-rebellion-unisex-100-cotton-tee Isager Eco Soft Yarn: www.woolandcompany.com/yarn/l... Re: neck of your EUN sweater. If it starts to stretch too much, you could stabilise the shape where you like it by adding some crochet chain on the inside to reinforce.
@michelleenzenroth8162

As I was a crocheter first I am curious. Is this done by doing a slip stitch chain at the bottom of the neckline? (inside, of course) Just wondering...

Can I just say how much I love that you love and appreciate (and knit) with lower cost and commercial yarn just as much as you do hand-dyed/indie yarn? I feel like there is too much focus on hand-dyed yarn in the knitting podcast world. It's not sustainable for everyone to only ever knit sweaters with a $30 /skein yarn. And I'm saying this as someone who is not "low-income". I am from a middle-income household, but there is no way I am going to knit multiple sweaters a year that all cost like $200 in just supplies. So thank you for showing that commercial yarn can also make sweaters that are just beautiful!
@WOOLNEEDLESHANDS
@WOOLNEEDLESHANDS Год назад
Oh, my pleasure indeed! I hear you and agree with everything you're saying. I'm proud to lend a voice to that and open the door to knitters who either don't want to or cannot afford the higher end yarn options. ❤️

Another wonderful visit with Taylor. I love Paton and Lion Brand yarn. Once againyou have inspired me to knit more beautiful sweaters. I now have seven lovely grandchildren to knit for. So there is no end of possibilities in my future. Six granddaughters and one grandson.❤Lots of love to go around. So far I have managed to knit socks, mittens and hats, with one baby sweater just completed. Time to cast on another baby sweater for the second and newest granddaughter this year. God has truly blessed me. The first and number one granddaughter just started high school. 😊 One happy Alaska granny.❤

I’ve been working on a sweater since late July and I just split for the sleeves. Granted, I am an obsessed sock knitter and I work on my sweater passively. I’m also knitting a 3x. And plus size knits take longer. So when I see people knitting smaller sizes, I understand they can knit it faster because there are less stitches. 😊 hopefully I’ll get motived to finish my sweater before it’s summer again 😅

I love watching your podcast because i feel like all your projects are realistic and attainable in number, speed, difficulty, yarn choice ect and if not you say that it might not be. Add a piece of twill tape across the back of your Eun sweater's neckline to support the weight, and prevent the dreaded alpaca stretch. Just whip stitch it to the line that's created where you join the folded neckline in.

Taylor, here is an idea about the cute ECLAIR sweater and its tricky collar. You can apply elastic wire (it is kind of like fishing wire but slick and stretchy). People use it in bead making for necklaces and bracelets. It's clear. You can use a safety pin to thread the stretchy elastic through your finished collar, This tip was suggested by another youtuber. I can not recall her name but she designs sweaters and offers tips on her making techniques.

I just used .7 mm Stretch elastic cord on my Winter Bluff sweater by Ashley Lillis. My first sweater and neckline was WAY too wide. It's better, might wear this, acrylic and wool from JoAnn, so more hot and bulky, but inexpensive first sweater. Google... How to tighten a sweater collar and Ashley Lullis has several methods.

I have become addicted to tunisian crochet lately. So, I have two knit projects and like 3 tunisian crochet projects going all at once. My husband thinks I am nuts, but that is okay lol I just bought more yarn which I really didn't need to make my self a sweater. It is 50% recycled cotton and 50% polyester. I got it in a Charcoal Grey. I can't wait till it comes in. It is coming from Denmark. So, you are not the only one that has a million and one projects going all at once. It keeps things interesting.

I never try to knit up too many projects at a time just in case i forget to write down notes of changes. It's not a race in my book. Will have to check out the alpaca-cotton blend for my next sweater as i am overflowing with Fishermen's wool in my wardrobe. I'm going to be so curious how the Isager Eco Soft works when blocked. I fell in love with the Eun sweater when you featured it in previous episode. Saw a nice project with the Eco Soft on Ravelry which looked gorg (and didn't require holding two yarns together, obviously). I don't have any experience with using a cotton blend yarn so a bit hesitant. Of course, I could do a large gauge swatch and block to find out 😉. Thanks for all of your inspiration!

If you're concerned about the neck being too floppy/loose, add some see through elastic thread! Kutovakika(?) shows it here and there in her podcasts and it really cinches in the neckline!!

The Stripe Hype looks like my kind of sweater especially when the yarn you’re using is so affordable. I’m interested to know how much it softens with soaking and blocking. I’ve knit a couple of pullovers in worsted/aran weight but, since the winters here can be super cold (like -40 celcius at times) jackets are a must so I find that weight of sweater too warm and find I like lighter weight ones with a tank underneath if I need something warmer.

I knit with Paton's wool all the time, it's a lovely wool and it softens over time.

It’s funny because you can’t possibly imagine knitting without looking until suddenly you’re knitting without looking…and not even noticing. Just you wait. 😉

I currently have 2 sweaters on the needles that i'm dragging my heels on. one because i snapped one of my longer DPNs that I was using for knitting the sleeves and still haven't dropped into the local yarn shop to replace it. the other one is in time out because its the wrong size needles for what i need to clear off for Stephen West's MKAL next month.

Your projects seem to be progressing nicely. Do you remember a few months ago you started a KAL for recycling? I'm almost finished with the first part of that. I have about 4 rows left. Then the cable sweater is still in progress (curse KAL sweater). I'm currently picking out patterns for my first fair isle sweater, and looking for a particular yarn blend for a renunculus. (I had picked a particular yarn, but when I went to go buy it, it was sold out, so they need to make more or I need to change my mind, which I don't see happening because it was exactly the color I wanted and the weight-fabric drape I was looking for.)
