Great information. I bought my Brilliant as a second machine as a 2nd macbine for my Solaris 2 (which is too heavy to move). Its a great machine, great for quilting az well as garment sewing & crafting.

if the automatic tie off button was NOT selected on the keypad, would those straight stitches still do tie off in the beginning because they have the tie off symbol in the stitch pattern? Or does the tie off symbol in the stitch pattern just indicate that those stitches are capable of doing a tie off in the beginning when the tie off button is selected?

I am not sure why you need 4 stitches...it sounds confusing? Reenforcement priority...what is that? Who would know what it means and you have to find it. Then the needle changes position....so much to remember....bewildering for sure.
