This is an older video so I'm not sure what you ended up going with, but I just purchased the Trek Rail 9.5 full carbon. Great component spec and shreds like a monster without killing myself on the climbs.
That is definitely an awesome bike. I still haven’t purchased an eBike but would love to at some point. Congrats on an awesome bike and have fun with it.
I'm late to the party, I myself got a 2020 trek powerfly (hardtail) and I love it. In retrospect I should have coughed up some more for the rail. Did you end up getting one of these bikes?
I'm thinking in three years there will be no way to notice a difference between these and acoustic bikes. I think when I hit 50, I'm give it a try. Might take that long to save up for one.
Based on the type of riding you show and your interest in fitness(biking and running) I am not sure an e-bike would be what you should get. My dad on the other hand doesn’t enjoy climbing and the climbs wear him out fast. Getting an e-bike was a great solution because he could ride longer since he wasn’t exhausting himself on the climbs. When doing research I found that YT had the best bang for your buck components wise. I know, direct to consumer and no local shop support. Anyways he ended up getting a YT Decoy Shred and when I compared the Niner, Specialized, Giant and a few others at even a higher price point, the Decoy Shred came with better components for less or the same. When I started the research I was eyeing the Niner based on other videos, Syd and Macky, but when I looked at the build you can actually buy it was all low end SRAM. As you stated, you can always upgrade the components, but my dad didn’t want to mess with doing that so finding a bike that came with good/great components to start was key.
I totally agree. I am not sure what I will think of an eBike but I am super interested in trying them out. I have been looking at the YT. I know a few people that have that brand. I will definitely be digging into direct buy next.
i am no e bike expert, but I would go with the turbo levo. Go to adventure bicycle company, check out the prices, they should let you demo most if not all of them. I would defiantly wouldn't go with the giant, I had a dropper post made by giant and it let me down serveral times.
The turbo Levi looks awesome. I think after really digging into the specs I was only really disappointed that the front fork was a spring not an air fork. I read that model of rockshox was new this year. I will definitely be going to checkout Adventure Bicycle Company.
So most of these e Mountain bikes say the motor tops out at 20mph. Obviously the bike can go much faster than that under human power alone. Does this mean the motor will stop assisting once you reach 20mph?
