Korean food is currently very popular among almost everyone. Here are four easy, yet yummy recipes that are made with simple ingredients.
1.Maggi Ramen
Ramen is a very famous and staple dish in Korea and Japan. There are many authentic ways, in which lots of exotic ingredients like Shitake, enoki mushrooms, Sea kelp, Pork bone, etc are used. And it usually takes a lot of time to prepare, but this recipe is a cheat recipe made with instant noodles (Maggi) . This doesn't taste exactly the same, but brings out the flavour well.
Ingredients:
Maggi - 2
Carrot - half
Paneer - 2 sticks
Spinach - 5 leaves
Egg - 1
Spring onion - 1 tsp
Garlic - 2 tsp (chopped)
Onion - 2tbsp
Soy sauce - 3 tsp
Chilli flakes - 1/2 tsp
Sesame seeds - 2 tsp
Gochujang/ Maggi hot & sweet sauce/ chilli sauce - 1/2 tsp
Sesame oil, salt, pepper, water - as required
2.Korean Veg Corn dog
Korean corn dog, is a very famous street food . This is usually made with sausages but to give a veg twist, I made this with a potato filling. Though it might not taste the same, it will taste awesome on it's own.
Ingredients:
Flour - 3/4 cup
Yeast - 1/2 tsp
Sugar - 1 tbsp
Warm water - 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp
Mozzerella cheese - 1/2 a block
Potato - 3
Onion - 1 big
Green chilli - 2
Ginger - 1 inch
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Amchur powder - 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves - few
3.Tteokbokki
Tteokbokki is one of the most famous Korean streetfood. It's becoming more and more popular all over the world. It is a recipe that consists of rice cakes and a spicy sauce.
Ingredients:
Rice flour - 1 cup
Corn flour - 1 tbsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Hot water - as required
Onion - 1
Soy sauce - 1 tbsp
Gochujang / maggi hot and sweet sauce - 2 tbsp
Chilli powder - 1tsp
Sugar - 1 tbsp
Spring onion - 2 tbsp
Water, salt, oil - as required
4.Japchae
Japchae is a Korean noodles recipe. It is made with glass noodles that are made from sweet potato starch. It gained it’s name from it’s looks. Usually Japchae is made with pork or beef. But this recipe is a vegan version.
Ingredients:
Glass noodles - 2 servings
Onion - 1
Capsicum - 2 coloured halves
Mushroom - 1 big
Carrot - 1
Spring onion greens - a handful
Sesame seeds - 2 tbsp
Sesame oil - 1 tbsp
Soy sauce - 1 tbsp
Honey - 1/2 tbsp
Garlic - 2 tsp (grated)
Salt, water, oil - as required
