I’ve been there but speak from your heart! The Bible does tell us how to pray but prayer is just speaking to God , don’t allow the devil to speak to you and create anxiety or make you flustered ! Jesus Is our father and best friend so rebuke the fear and just speak from your heart! Either way God just wants to hear from you

I do the same! I'm 21, also grew up in a Christian household. I believe that prayer is mainly about strengthening and maintaining a bond and relationships with God, so talking to Him throughout the day is the BEST kind of prayer!

If you're a Christian, the Bible says you should only be praying to God/Jesus/Holy Spirit. Not the universe or anything else. However, if you aren't a christian then i understand why you wouldn't follow that same path.

What I meant is that it's the big unknown, and to what and whom are we directing our intentions/prayer life to. It's just that no one knows who is listening to prayers on the 'other end', we just think we do. That's why I did chime in on prayers, in my case, being unidirectional, meaning it goes out with no expectation of anything coming back. So I am not disappointed when there is nothing coming back to me that I prayed for. What does that kind of prayer do for me?? It's an expression of gratitude, thankfulness for what I've got. After all I live in America, I am an army vet that survived war overseas, and at 27 years of age, I've finally got a boyfriend who doesn't treat me like SH^&. If there is someone on the other end listening to me, well, that's great. But I cannot rely on that, something that no one knows for sure, because I sure don't. I am subscribed to you because I am interested in what you say, how things are going in your life. And I do wish you the best for you and your upcoming nuptials. I might be doing the same thing soon. So happiness and blessings to you and your hubby-to-be without measure.

@@ellenames5193 I wasn't brought up in any faith at all. I'm scared to pray as if there are negative entities out there, how do i know if my prayers are being acted on by a benevolent or malevolent being? I or my loved ones might end up with awful outcomes 😳☹️

​@@ellie698 Hi Ellie and Happy New Year to you. You, me, actually many people do not have a religious background, or a very limited one to speak of. So I would not let into my psyche that kind of negativity or uncertainty that many in the religious community use to get you to their way of thinking. Guilt-tripping and shaming you to believe as they do is low, no need to be stigmatized by where you are in your own personal growth. First on your concern, try a centering kind of prayer or meditative technique by looking inward not necessarily outward. That way you aren't concerned with who or what is listening to you, only that you listen to your heart. No need to ask for anything outside of yourself if you key on your own inner strength and resolve. Focus on your intentions and experience their own power within you to then direct them to changing your personal world in a positive way. When you realize that it's all within your abilities and grasp, no need to ask for something that lies beyond you to affect the change that you desire to make. By looking inward you don't need to fear the outward. Be kind to yourself and the belief that you can handle whatever it is that lies before you. Take care and blessings to you.

If ur a christian, you need to have a connection, a relationship with God. If you just say ”I’m a Christian” that doesn’t mean much if you don’t take care of the relationship with Jesus ! Don’t worry babe, God loves you and wants to communicate with you ! God loves when you read The Bible or pray ! Sometimes praying can be hard, especially when you don’t know what to say. But God always knows what you need, sometimes you can just pray in silence, just listen to what God has to tell you. And sometimes you might not get an answer to your prayer, which is totally okay. Sometimes you get an answer from God but you just don’t notice it. Stay strong in faith girl, i believe in you

@@miljaaironen5257 I do feel like I have a connection/ relationship with him it’s just I don’t do the traditional praying if that makes sense. Like I think that I pray unconsciously sometimes. Idk if it makes sense but like for example if I have to make a decision on something I’m quit I try to listen somethimes I look up and I try to make a decision. It’s not like I’m going to my room and pray there. I do it with my mind sometimes. Not everyday but I think that’s how I do it. I now he knows what I feel and what I need and I trust him. I don’t know if this makes any sense to you but I hope it does 🙏🏼💖

@@calmnessounds7529 I encourage you to pray to God. Pray to Him. It doesn't have to be formal or anything, it can just be like "Hey God, thanks for this" or "Jesus, i have been feeling this way". Just thank Him everyday and have conversations with The Lord every day. Also remember to read your Bible and pray to God before reading so you will understand The Word better.

Hi Kennedy! :) Here's what I know that may help you: The purpose of prayer is to strengthen and maintain a bond with God, nurturing it into your most intimate of relationships! So just... talk to Him throughout the day. Tell Him how much you love some part of His earth you noticed, or just thank Him for the food you eat, or talk to Him like you would a therapist when you're feeling negative emotions. Taking time to sit still and only pray is important too, but there really isn't a strict formula. Talk to Him like you would the best and most understanding dad/big brother/best friend in the world -- that's the kind of relationship He WANTS to have, with YOU! :) Address Him with whichever of His names feels most right to you: Abba, Yeshua, Jesus, Lord, Father, beautiful Savior, God, any of the many, many names He is called in the Bible! It doesn't need to be formal, like addressing a letter. Lastly, I think this song could REALLY help you! Ask God to help you with a name you can call him. I call on Jesus feels more personal to me. I also say Almighty God or Father in heaven
